TO HEAR AND OBEY

Many people say they are led by the Holy Spirit.  The problem is, sometimes those same people fail to pray before making important decisions, or else they listen to their own emotions or wisdom and fail to follow the Lord’s instruction once He has spoken to them.  Continue Reading »

HE CAME TO MINISTER

The mercy of God never ceases to amaze me.  Many people pray asking God to do something for them, yet seem to think they must try to pry a blessing from God with a crowbar, and nothing could be farther from the truth.  In Mark chapter 10, we see a prime example of the mercy of God. THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH

This morning while asking the Lord what to write about, He spoke very clearly to me to use John 14:7 for the text, and after looking it up, I saw why.  If you don’t understand what the Lord Jesus was teaching here, much of the rest of what He gained for us by His sacrifice will go unused in our lives.  Let’s look at the text: Continue Reading »

TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT

This morning upon waking up, I took a few minutes to think about what needs to be done today.  Even before my morning coffee, it came to me there are choices we make every day that pretty much determine what kind of day we will have.  People say life is pretty complicated and getting more so every day.  I humbly disagree.  To everything there are two choices:  Continue Reading »

YOU ARE UNIQUE

Last night while listening to one of my favorite singers, I was telling the Lord, I wish my voice was like his.  And I heard the Holy Spirit say, Why?  What’s wrong with YOUR voice? I replied, Well, people are not exactly beating a path to my door to hear me sing.  Continue Reading »

JUST LIKE SPOONS

Yeah, I know, sometimes I come up with some odd things to write about, but it wasn’t my idea, it was the Lord’s.  All I can take credit for is sitting quietly and writing down what He gives me.  And this time just happens to be about spoons.  That’s right: spoons.
Have you looked in your silverware drawer lately?  If you notice, the knives just kind of lay there in no particular order, but the forks and spoons are a different matter, more particularly the spoons.  Forks kind of nest together but some of them scatter sideways, but the spoons lay neatly stacked one on top of the other.  What in the world could this have to do with anything important in life?  Actually, quite a lot, as you will see.

GOD OF THE HILLS AND VALLEYS

This morning before getting up, the Lord reminded me of the account in 1 Kings 20 where Israel went to war with Syria, how He delivered Israel even though they were vastly outnumbered by the Syrians.  You see, God is able to deliver you out of the hand of the enemy, when it seems there is no way the enemy can lose. Would you like to know how?   Let’s read about it: Continue Reading »

CREATURES OF HABIT

Have you ever wished you could wipe your slate clean and start all over?  Many times in my past I went through traumatic experiences and heartaches, and many of them were of my own doing.  And of course, each day brought the remembrance of those experiences, and whether or not I realized it, they would shape how I would live my day.   The hope that things would get better someday was about all that kept me going sometimes.  Maybe you could call it “denial”, but something deep inside me really wanted things to be different.  I’d think, today will be better, but somehow that day would end up being just like every other day.  Why is that? COME, TAKE THE WATER OF LIFE FREELY

When I asked Christ Jesus to save me back in July of 1993, and He said He had also healed me, and called me into the ministry, I still had all the symptoms of cancer in my body. Immediately after church on the day I got saved, I went to a hospital where one from the congregation I attended was dying of a blood disease, who was not expected to live through the afternoon. I told him, I just asked Jesus to save me, and He said He had also healed me.  So I’ll pray for you, and God will heal you, too.  And He did, right then and there, and the man is healthy to this day.  Boy!  That was easy!  The Lord told me then He had given me a ministry to heal the sick, so I’ve been about that ever since. GOD’S PLAN FOR HEALING

People often ask me what kind of plan they need to follow in order to receive healing.  Actually, the plan I used to get well was quite simple.  Most people tell me if it was really that easy, everyone would get well, but the fact they don’t all get well shows me that they are ignoring the obvious truths of the Word of God, and trying to add something to it.  Let me point out something very important.  Jesus plus whatever wisdom we can come up with equals failure every time.  It isn’t “Jesus plus…”  or “the Word of God plus…(doctor, medicine, herbs, whatever). …”  It’s the Word of God or NOTHING.  God doesn’t need your doctor’s help, or your medicine’s help, or any of your bright ideas, either for that matter.
