DO YOU PICK AND CHOOSE?

I’ve been to very few churches who teach from the whole Bible, cover to cover.  Most all of them pick and choose what to major in, and most times they end up “majoring in the minors”.  One denomination is big on salvation. Another on gifts of the Spirit. Another on speaking in tongues, while another majors on prophecy.  There are as many denominations as there are pages in the Bible it seems.  And yet the ENTIRE Bible is telling us of the very nature of God and instructs us in how to follow Him. FISHING WITH THE DEVIL

Have you ever gone fishing? I have, and most likely you have too. It used to be fun for me until one day my Dad and I were fishing, and he told me, “It’s kind of demeaning to us to be out here trying to outsmart a fish with an IQ lower than the water temperature.” I thought about that for a while. He was right. We were sitting out here as smart humans, trying to outsmart a fish, and for the most part the fish were winning.

AND GOD SAID….

From time to time I get questions about how do I know “GOD said….”, and that’s a fair question, deserving an answer. I’ve been in church services where the minister said before almost every sentence “And God said…”, but in my spirit I knew God said no such thing to them. How can I state that so boldly? Simple: it didn’t line up with God’s written Word.

DEATH AND LIFE

We often fail to realize how important our words are. It is written in Proverbs 18:21, Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

CONFRONT CONFUSION AND REFUSE IT

There is a lot of confusion in the world right now; many don’t know the difference between right and wrong, male and female, good and evil, wisdom and folly. So I have to ask, Who is behind all this mess, anyway? You don’t have to look very far to find the author of confusion. We can see the beginning of his work against mankind starting in Genesis 3:1-13.

IF I HAD A CHOICE…

Sometimes it’s hard to make a decision, especially if it’s an important one. One thing I hear often about that is “IF I HAD A CHOICE…”. Well, why would you think you DON’T have a choice in any decision you make?

WORKING THE WORD

From time to time people ask me “How long do I have to keep speaking God’s Word?” To me, that’s like asking, “How long do I have to keep being blessed?” My answer? “As long as you want the Word to work for you.” As you know, people are largely resistant to change, so that means, if you don’t study your Bible every day, you aren’t very motivated to start doing so. We tend to want to keep doing the same things everyday, but expect a different result.

SIN SICKNESS AND DEATH

12-7-19
SIN SICKNESS AND DEATH
By Jerry Baysinger
I recently wrote an article called “When sickness comes calling”, and today the LORD gave me a supplement to it. There are some who argue with me that sickness is not caused by sin. But I beg to differ, because before Adam and Eve sinned, THERE WAS NO SICKNESS OR DEATH. Therefore, whether you choose to believe it or not, sin caused sickness and death to come upon all mankind. Like I said, you can argue that, but I have the Word of God behind me. Continue Reading »

THIS IS OUR CONFIDENCE

How often we put our confidence in what people tell us, even without knowing that person. Let’s say you’re traveling in another state and you’re out in the boonies and you get lost, what do you do? Most likely you will ask someone for directions, unless you’re a man that is, because you know men NEVER get lost, right?

RISE AND WALK

There is an error I see often in the body of Christ, and that is concerning healing. Maybe it happens due to “tradition”, maybe it’s unbelief, or maybe it’s just plain bad teaching, but I’d like to address it today. So often when someone is prayed for concerning healing, and we will say that person can’t walk for whatever reason, and the person doing the praying says, “See if you can walk.” Or maybe it’s “see if you can get up.” I cannot find where Jesus ever did that. So why do WE?
