OVERCOMING DAILY

There are a lot of people who seem to think God puts sickness on us to “teach us a lesson”. Or they say, “Well, God ALLOWS it, doesn’t He?”  That would be like a wife saying, “My house got broke into because my husband allowed it”.  No, there is a thief out there, and the crime needs to be laid upon the thief, not the homeowner.  Christ Jesus said in John 10:10, The thief cometh not but for to kill, and to steal, and to destroy; but I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.  Jesus made sure to tell us the difference between Himself and the devil.  And yet today, most Christians can’t tell the difference between the works of God, and the works of the devil.  And that’s how the devil likes it. EVERY WORD OF GOD

Let’s start right off with the Word of God today, in Proverbs 30:5-6, it is written,
5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
Let’s face it, the Word of God as it is written is by and large not preached in most churches today. Either it is being “interpreted” to say what it doesn’t say, or else much that it DOES say is being skipped over and ignored. Whichever the scenario is, the hearers lose out.

WORTH MORE THAN MANY SPARROWS

While we are to humble ourselves before the LORD, we can also go into the ditch with that, by declaring ourselves to be worthless to the LORD. And what better way to discourage a person from seeking God, than to convince them that God sees them as worthless. Through the years I’ve dealt with many people suffering that very thing. And although many people can quote John 3:16 from heart, it never really registers to them that God places very high value on us. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

GOD YESTERDAY TODAY AND FOREVER

People are sure getting wound up about the Presidential election. Yes, it is a very important thing to the Citizens of this Country. There is much suspicion about voter fraud, and illegal voters casting their ballots when they are not even authorized to vote in the first place. Then there’s outright fraud, in accusations of false counting of ballots. I remember when I was young, both the Democrats and Republicans put forth their best candidate, and the country voted, and pretty much everyone was ok with the outcome. That was because it was believed that both parties had the best interests of the people in their heart, so whichever person won, it would be a win-win for our Country. And it SHOULD be that way. But what happened? It sure isn’t like that anymore!

THE PATHS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

When asking the LORD what my subject is today, He replied, “The Paths of Righteousness”. In looking in His Word for that, it is found in three places. The Word says, Let every word be established in the mouth of two or three witnesses. We have three, so let’s have a look.
The first being Psalm 23:3, “He restoreth my soul; He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.”

DO NOT WORRY

We are told by the Lord Jesus not to have worry or anxiety about things. Yeah, I know, it’s easy to say, but hard to do, right? Well, it doesn’t HAVE to be. I think of it like this; if God be for me, who can be against me? And if God be FOR me, WHO CARES who’s against me? So why worry, when God has me covered? And that would be a good attitude for YOU to have, as well. It is written in Matthew 6:24-34,

READING THE WILL

Whenever there is a death, there is usually a will left behind to ascertain the property left behind will be distributed as the one who died desires.  And of course, everyone who thinks they stand to inherit something will show up for the reading of the will.  Most sit there with high hopes they will leave inheriting something of great worth.  Now suppose the one who died was rich; and I don’t mean just “rich”, but wealthy beyond even their wildest imagination.  Now you’re getting the idea.  The will is about to be read, and all the family members gathered are sitting on the edge of their chairs. REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE

We read a sad, sad story in Genesis chapter three about the fall of mankind in the Garden of Eden.  God had created Adam and Eve and gave them authority and dominion over all the earth, and guess what happened? They gave it all to the devil.  Does that mean God was finished with mankind?  No, God always has a plan. Let’s read about it. Continue Reading »
