We read a sad, sad story in Genesis chapter three about the fall of mankind in the Garden of Eden.  God had created Adam and Eve and gave them authority and dominion over all the earth, and guess what happened? They gave it all to the devil.  Does that mean God was finished with mankind?  No, God always has a plan. Let’s read about it.

Gen 3:1  Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
Gen 3:2  And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
Gen 3:3  But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
Gen 3:4  And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
Gen 3:5  For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
Gen 3:6  And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
Gen 3:7  And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
Gen 3:8  And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
Gen 3:9  And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
Gen 3:10  And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
Gen 3:11  And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?

Because they had forgotten who God created them to be, and had surrendered the gift of God to Satan, the LORD was very severe to them.  Because they had allowed Satan to steal their crowns, the LORD was displeased.  But He still loved Adam and Eve.

Notice in particular verse 11 where God said, Who told thee that thou wast naked?

The Lord Jesus said in John 10:10, The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. Now, God had created Adam and Eve, and until that point, they had lived the “abundant life”.  Everything for them had been perfect, no sickness, no death, no destruction, no lack, no poverty, and every day they had fellowship with God.  What more could they want?  God even showed them where the gold was, before there was ever a place to spend it.  Everything was wonderful, and the devil came to steal it all away from them.  Actually, he didn’t steal, he deceived them into GIVING it to him.  At that moment, he also stole eternal life from them, and their crown of dominion which was given to them at their creation.  And he is constantly trying to pull the same thing on YOU!

You need to remind yourself who you really are, a child of the Most High God.  You are anointed of God to fulfill a purpose for Him.  You have a gift inside you unlike that of anyone else.  You are perfectly suited to fulfill the destiny God has created for you. You were crowned from your creation to be someone uniquely wonderful.

Don’t let the devil or circumstances steal your crown, through fear, or intimidation, or sickness or any other thing.  He is ALWAYS after your crown.  He wants to be the king of all creation, and CERTAINLY wants to be the King of all YOUR creation, your possessions, your life, and everything that is dear to you.  He will come to you in your weakest hours when you’re sick and broke and you can’t pay your bills.  He will tell you that you’re going under, that even if God helped you the last time, THIS time it’s different, you’re on your own this time, and there isn’t anything you can do, you might as well just give up.

You may get to feeling bad, and go to the doctor, and he gives you a bad report.  Maybe they tell you that you need a very expensive operation or treatment, or that there is just no hope.  That’s when the LORD says to you, “WHO TOLD YOU THAT YOU HAVE CANCER (or whatever) ?”  What does My Word say? You may lose your job and the bank wants to foreclose on your home. “WHO TOLD YOU THAT YOU ARE GOING TO LOSE YOUR HOME??” Did God tell you that? Or did the THIEF tell you that?

What are you doing listening to the devil, anyway?

That’s your cue to say, NO!  I’m not going there, I know who I am.  I’m a child of the Most High God.  I am born of royalty, the LORD is my heavenly Father, I’m destined to overcome, destined for greatness, and I will accept nothing less than what my Father created me to be.

Let’s read about something that happened to King David:
2Sa 15:13  And there came a messenger to David, saying, The hearts of the men of Israel are after Absalom.
2Sa 15:14  And David said unto all his servants that were with him at Jerusalem, Arise, and let us flee; for we shall not else escape from Absalom: make speed to depart, lest he overtake us suddenly, and bring evil upon us, and smite the city with the edge of the sword.
2Sa 15:15  And the king’s servants said unto the king, Behold, thy servants are ready to do whatsoever my lord the king shall appoint.
2Sa 15:16  And the king went forth, and all his household after him. And the king left ten women, which were concubines, to keep the house.
2Sa 15:17  And the king went forth, and all the people after him, and tarried in a place that was far off.
2Sa 15:18  And all his servants passed on beside him; and all the Cherethites, and all the Pelethites, and all the Gittites, six hundred men which came after him from Gath, passed on before the king.

When King David was running from his son Absalom,  he was no less the King then, than when he was sitting on his Throne.  When we are in the midst of trials and tribulations, we are no less the child of the Most High God than we were before the trials.  God saw King David through his troubles, and He will see you through YOUR troubles.  King David refused to surrender his crown, and you must refuse to surrender yours.  How does a King get things done?  By his decree, of course; whatever the King says is the law of the land.  Everything in creation was decreed by God, and nothing was made without His saying so.  Ruling by decree was and is good enough for God, and we are His children, whom He is training up to be Kings and Priests unto Him.  Shouldn’t we be watching God and listening to Him, learning and doing what He does?

Indeed, our words can make or break us.  The devil brings circumstances into our lives in order that he may destroy us, and he hopes we will use our words to help him along and destroy ourselves.  Mankind is unique in all of God’s creation, in that He gave us the ability to think and speak.  Many of our circumstances are brought about by what we have said or are saying.  Of course, many of us have heard words spoken against us, in an effort to keep us from becoming all that God created us to be.  Maybe we’ve been called fat, or stupid, or a slow learner, or worthless, or told we will never amount to anything.  I have to say at this point, listen to the voice of the LORD.  WHO SAID YOU WERE STUPID?  It certainly wasn’t God!  WHO SAID YOU WOULD NEVER AMOUNT TO ANYTHING?  Not God!  No, His Word says you are wonderfully and fearfully made.

God created you a unique masterpiece for Himself.  There are no two of us exactly alike.  You are unique in all creation, perfectly fashioned to be pleasing to Almighty God.  He did not make a mistake when He made you, nor are you a disappointment to Him.  Sometimes our behavior is not pleasing to Him, but that never changes WHO YOU ARE!  You are a child of the Most High, and He loves you!  So much, in fact, that He sacrificed His only begotten Son, to ransom you from your sins, so He can have perfect fellowship with you.  He said, BE YE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY!  Remember who you are, and stop listening to the devil.  Remember, you are God’s masterpiece, unique, precious, loved and ANOINTED to please Him!
