HONOR GOD ABOVE ALL ELSE

We are told in Exodus 20:2-3; I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.   Thou shalt have no other gods before me. But tell me, is God REALLY number one in our life, or do we allow circumstances in our life to take first place? Continue Reading »

DOES MATTHEW 10:8 APPLY TODAY?

DOES MATTHEW 10:8 APPLY TODAY?
Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
In an apprenticeship, a master teaches the apprentice.  Once the apprentice has completed his or her training, they are expected to have the same orientation, skills, and attitude of the master, possessing and  being able to demonstrate said properties of the master, not just in word, but in deed.   When you’re a Sensei ( Master Teacher at martial arts), you teach a particular discipline or form of martial arts, we’ll say Bushido Kan, for example. Once you’re fully trained, you yourself are qualified to teach the same, as you are as skilled as your teacher, and so the line of the discipline continues unbroken.
True, Matthew 10:8 does address the disciples, but why?  Jesus chose the twelve whom he personally trained up to CONTINUE his earthly ministry.  And of course, after Jesus returned to heaven, the people came to the disciples expecting them to do what Jesus did, and rightly so, for they had been taught by Jesus for 3 1/2 years, and Jesus charged them to do so.  Were they up to the task?  Certainly so.  What was job one for the disciples then?  To teach others what Jesus taught them.  That’s precisely what “discipleship: does.  We see in the scripture where Peter raised Dorcas from the dead, ok, he was one of the twelve disciples, but what about Paul? He raised Eutychus, from the dead, and he was not one of the disciples.
Acts20:9  And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead.
How about Stephen? He was not one of the twelve.  But he obviously heard the Gospel and became a believer with signs and wonders following:
Act 6:8  And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.
Concerning Philip, one of the twelve,  he went and ministered to the Samaritans, though Jesus indeed said that he was only sent to the lost sheep of Israel.  Yet Jesus himself healed the Samaritan woman’s daughter.  If you’re referring to one specific time period in the ministry of Jesus, therefore limiting salvation only to the Jews, then Matthew 10:8 does not apply to us today as the modern day disciples of Christ Jesus.    You see, if the disciples were limited by Jesus only to preach to the lost sheep of Israel, then salvation is NOT FOR US TODAY as we are not Israelites.
Act_8:5  Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.
Act_8:6  And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.
So, why doesn’t the church today demonstrate the power of the Holy Spirit?  Simple, lack of sound teaching, that is, teaching what Jesus taught, and NOT teaching what Jesus did NOT teach.  God will back up HIS words, but is not obligated to back up DOCTRINES OF MEN.   Another issue is the same thing that stopped Jesus from doing great works in his own community: UNBELIEF.  If we preach the Gospel of the Kingdom of God that Jesus preached, people will hear, faith will come, and they will believe unto salvation, and the body of Christ will grow.  But, just as in the times of Jesus’ ministry, some will believe, some won’t.  Jesus taught those who were ready to listen, and multitudes did and followed him.  He didn’t stay somewhere and keep hammering on the unbelievers, but moved on when they refused the Gospel message.  He taught the disciples to do the same.  Yet churches today keep reaching out to those who keep saying NO, thereby wasting ministry resources and time.  Preach the Kingdom of God and it will produce believers, and concentrate on discipling them into faithful people who will themselves go out and preach the Kingdom of God.   Simple in theory, but when you add in “church denominational doctrines”, “doctrines of men”, the Gospel falls flat and produces no fruit.  That’s why I personally do not preach “denominations”, “Baptist, AG, Pentecostal, Methodist, etc”.  Jesus didn’t, and I won’t either.  I preach the “Kingdom of God” that Jesus preached, and He backs up His Words with power and demonstration of the Holy Spirit.  It works for me, I see no reason to change it, for that’s how God operated through Jesus and the disciples, and THOSE THAT HEARD THEM AND BELIEVED (THAT’S ME).
The Gospel of the Kingdom of God certainly has the power to change lives.  It changed mine forever.  I want to keep the main thing “the main thing”, and that is winning souls for the Kingdom.  For every Kingdom, there is a King, and the King has rules of conduct, and if you want to be under the King’s protection and enjoy his benefits, you must live by his rules.  That’s why it’s called a Kingdom.  I live by Kingdom rules, having His authority over me, and exercising the authority granted me as a believer, a modern day disciple of Christ Jesus.  I take the charges that Jesus taught His disciples as relevant for today, striving to maintain the same teachings that Christ Jesus taught his disciples unchanged, for if I don’t, then the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been watered down by traditions of men, and absolutely powerless to change lives.
The Book of Acts clearly demonstrated how the Holy Spirit fell on the 120 gathered in the upper room on the day of Pentecost, how the work of the Holy Spirit continued in and through their lives.  And that same Holy Spirit empowers those who believe yet today.
Mar 16:14  Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.
Mar 16:15  And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Mar 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
Mar 16:17  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
Mar 16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Mar 16:19  So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
Mar 16:20  And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
Ok, we can say that applied to the eleven remaining disciples, minus Judas.  Note verse 16 HE THAT BELIEVETH.  That DEFINITELY is not referring to the eleven, but those who hear and believe THEIR PREACHING.  Again, I assert, HE THAT BELIEVETH goes in an unbroken line unto today.  What “Gospel” have we been listening to?  What are WE preaching?  Is it bringing forth the fruit of verses 16-18?  If not, we are not preaching the same Gospel they preached back then.  Their preaching resulted in multitudes of people being saved!  Would you like to see a thousand salvations a week?  It’s possible, for the Holy Spirit is willing, for it is the very work of God.  The remedy?  Go back and reexamine what Jesus did and didn’t do, what He said and didn’t say.  Preach what Jesus preached, and it will bring forth the same fruit for you as it did for him.
I can spend HOURS and days elaborating on this, for I’ve built my last 20 years around it, but I hope this short letter clears up what I believe and how I arrive at my reasoning.
God bless!

Changes in my emails

Several have called and asked why I stopped sending out my Friday emails after all these years.  Well, it’s because of all the spam rules that apply to those who are mailing out thousands of emails per week.  But I’m still responding to those who write or call just like always.  In fact, the time I’m saving now by posting my weekly newsletter directly on our website instead of sending out individual emails with a link to the website  is helping me get caught up on my prayer request responses for the first time in many years.  By freeing up those approximately 10 hours each Friday, it’s having  beneficial effect on my whole week.  Now I’m often able to respond to you within the very hour you post a prayer request.  That’s progress!  And that is important.  This change is good although it’s taking me a bit of getting used to doing things differently after all these years.  July will be my 20th anniversary in ministry, my how time flies!!

My phone is almost always on, but of course I can’t answer if I’m in a service.  I only return calls from the US, so if you’re contacting me from overseas, instant message or email works best,  and you’ll get a quick response from me.  If you need a private response, that’s no problem, I’m not here for just “everyone else”, I’m here for YOU individually.

I’m taking this opportunity to tell you, we really need our ministry’s motor home up and running again so I can be back out on the road where I belong, preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, encouraging, teaching, and helping the sick receive their healing.  I’ve searched far and wide for a new or rebuilt engine. We need an 1984-86 BMW 524TD turbodiesel engine.  If you happen to know where there is a good one, please let me know.  Otherwise, we need another motor home. Ours has 179,000 miles on it, and it has served the Kingdom of God well through the 15 years we’ve had it, although with many breakdowns along the way.  I’m telling you this so you are aware of the ministry’s needs in order for us to be able to serve you better.  Many have prophesied through the years that God is going to give our ministry a new motor home, paid for, and we are looking forward in faith to that event.  We covet your prayers concerning this need.  We love you exceedingly and really appreciate those who have chosen to help this ministry with prayers and financial support.  God bless!  And keep watching the website!

OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN

There was a time when the disciples of Jesus asked him how they were to pray, and He taught them the following as is written in Matthew 6:9-15; Continue Reading »

IN THE LAST DAYS

There are many indicators in the Bible that show we are in the last days before the return of Christ Jesus. And yes, every generation before us has thought they were the last generation. But never before have we seen the manifestation of the ancient prophecies as we do today.  In the words that have been asked countless times before; “Are we there yet?”  Let’s consider the words written in 2 Peter 3:3-9: Continue Reading »

Healing testimony

Dear Pastor Jerry,
Here is our progress report for my husband, Dan…
On March 1, 2010 my husband was diagnosed with a UT3 cancerous tumor in his rectum.  The recommendation was surgery to remove the rectum, followed by radiation and chemo.   We had already seen so many healings that we were both convinced that there was a better way.   To make this short, he had alternative treatments along with prayer.  Eventually he had surgery to only remove the tumor and not the entire organ.    Surgery went fine, however he developed staff infection that ended in the doctors going back in to deal with the staff.  Subsequently, a few months later the tumor came back and spread to the liver in 5 places.
After nearly 3 years the disease continued to advance and in November of 2012 my husband was only given a few days to a couple weeks to live, given enough morphine to kill an elephant , and sent home to die.  We continued to go to the Christian healing rooms where learned to renew our minds daily with healing scripture declarations.  After 12 weeks there was little to no visible progress.  We were missing something.
On February 14, 2013 I contacted Pastor Jerry to see if he would come and help us, and he agreed. Arriving at midnight 2 days later after driving through a snow storm here in Michigan he immediately began ministering to me until 2am.  My husband was on heavy pain medication and slept through Sunday.  That night he began to bleed out until 5am the next morning.  He told Jerry and I that he almost died, and had to make a choice to live.  Pastor worked with my husband on and off that day and prayed with him.  The next day Jerry left for home … And again drove through another Winter storm here in Michigan!
Sometime on Monday as I was washing my husband, I watched as a tumor the size of a golf ball deflated in a matter of seconds after I spoke to it.  I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me, so I pressed on it and asked if it hurt him.  He said “no”!  The tumor was gone!  Jesus had “taken away” the tumor.  Since then his bowel has begun to function normally.
Dan’s body is still in process in terms of healing.  He has been on morphine for 3 months and had his last dose Sunday night.  That was 5 days ago and there haven’t been any withdrawal symptoms nor any pain.  Having suffered with sciatica for 40 years, that too is healed.  His abdomen that has been so swollen from the lesions on his liver has begun to deflate as well.  We continue to speak to his liver and blood to be healed.
We continue to declare the Word of God continuously throughout the day to keep our minds renewed so we don’t become sidetracked by the symptoms.  We recognize them as “lying symptoms” because healing was provided 2,000 years ago with Jesus’ own body and blood.
Pastor Jerry’s obedience to the call, to help us, brought the breakthrough we had been seeking.  I thank God for his willingness to lay down his life in order to join faith with us and release the authority and power of God to rid Dan of this disease and it’s symptoms.  I know there is more to come!
I’ve written this testimony to encourage others who are battling disease and pain.. To let you know that God is faithful to perform His Word… ONLY HIS WORD…. And that for those who are the caregivers, I understand your journey all too well.  It can be demanding and exhausting.  God can sustain you too if you speak His Word over your life.  Ask for help, take time out to rest and realize that you are there to encourage… Not bear the responsibility for their choices or their life.
God will meet you where you are and bring you through…if you Let Him.

BE NOT AFRAID, ONLY BELIEVE

What better way could there be possibly be to start a teaching than with God’s Word?  There is an account in Mark chapter five of a lady being healed, and a little girl raised from the dead by Jesus.  Is raising the dead harder than healing the sick?  Apparently Jesus didn’t think so.  Let’s read the account: Continue Reading »

JESUS IS THE CURE

For what purpose was Jesus born, have you given much thought to that?  It was so the love of the heavenly Father might be made clearly evident unto mankind, to re-establish the fellowship that Adam and Eve had with Him before sin came into the world.  We can only imagine what life was like for them before the devil talked them into disobeying God. But we do know that God wants that wonderful life restored to man.  Total restoration, total healing; spirit, soul and body. Jesus is the cure for sin and everything it brought. Continue Reading »

THE SCARS ARE PROOF

As a kid growing up, I embarked on quite a few adventures.  At least they were adventures to me, like the time when I rode a sled down the steep side of a gravel pit one winter.  Several of us thought it would be fun to ride our sled down the steep embankment and see how fast and how far we could go.  Well, there were a few “whoop-de-doos” along the way down where I got airborne, and landed so forcefully it flattened the runners on my sled, and so the sled stayed there and I continued down without it.  I got a pretty good bump on my head which remains to this day. DELIVER YOURSELF FROM THE UNGODLY

As per Matthew 8:28-33, when the people of the country of the Gadarenes begged Jesus to go away and leave them alone, he left, even though he had the power to stay. Those people were ok with devils living among them but they didn’t want God’s presence there. So our leaders have heeded wicked people who hate God, and they have demanded God leave our country. So He has.
But those wicked and perverted people DO NOT represent MY choice. I ask God to be LORD over me and all mine. Regardless of what others do, as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. I pray you will determine to seek and serve God. No matter what.
The LORD will take care of His own, and send His Word to bless them.
Do you not think when the presence of God leaves a place that evil does not move in and take over? Why do you think we are seeing so many disasters in our weather and disasters throughout the land? It is because we’ve chosen evil over good and God has heeded our request for Him to leave. But there is a way out of all this evil. 2 Chronicles 7:14 says,
If my people, †which are called by my name, shall rhumble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; sthen will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
