We are told by the Lord Jesus not to have worry or anxiety about things. Yeah, I know, it’s easy to say, but hard to do, right? Well, it doesn’t HAVE to be. I think of it like this; if God be for me, who can be against me? And if God be FOR me, WHO CARES who’s against me? So why worry, when God has me covered? And that would be a good attitude for YOU to have, as well. It is written in Matthew 6:24-34,

It is written in Proverb 21:2, “Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.” This is just the nature of mankind, to always think we’re right. We can never admit we’re wrong, can we? Why, I remember recently I thought I was wrong, but thankfully I was mistaken. But the LORD ponders the hearts. And boy, are we full of pride. Well, maybe YOU are, but not me….(and that’s how we make excuses to God). I for one need all the help from God that I can get, because like the Bible says in Genesis 6:5,
And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

It is written in Proverbs 14:34, “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.” Look around at the world in the news today, what do you see? Do you see joyful, prosperous people living in safety with one another throughout the world? NO? What do you suppose is going on? I’ll tell you for sure what it is: the whole world has a sin problem!

There are sure a lot of voices out there trying to get our attention. Radio, TV, Internet, Facebook, no matter where you tune in, you’re sure to hear the doom and gloom of the world, brought to you by none other than Satan himself. And if that isn’t enough, if you aren’t giving heed to the voices of the world, your friends may tell you that you’re burying your head in the sand, that you NEED to listen to what’s going on in the world, so you can be informed.

Much of the world is busy worrying about the bottom line of their finances, some with buying, some with selling, and some with investing. Indeed, it’s an unstable time seemingly all over the world, caused by COVID-19, and the fallout caused various political agendas throughout the world.

We all know that we as “born again” Christians haven’t “arrived” yet, but as long as we live in this life, we are a “work in progress”. Most of us will admit that God has a lot of work still to do in us, at least I know He does in me. And while I’m not where I want to be, I can surely see that I’m not where I was a year ago, or five years ago, or twenty years ago, but still growing. I wish that process of growing in the LORD worked faster, but it isn’t God that is causing the delay, it’s always me. And I’m so thankful for His patience and grace.

Each day I study Proverbs because there is one for each day of the month. There is a particular verse I like in today’s Proverb, 29:16, When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall.

The Lord Jesus spoke a lot in parables, speaking plain truths that were hidden from the foundation of the world, yet only those who had “ears to hear” understood their meanings. Many times the things He said were directly opposite to our natural understanding, like in Matthew 16:25,
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
