WHAT IS YOUR EXCUSE?

In John chapter five we can read about a man who was an invalid for thirty eight years. Now thirty eight years is a very long time to be suffering.  Over the years I’ve met many people who have been suffering from various infirmities, and there is one thing common among them: they all want to be well.  Now there are some who hold to the belief that they are suffering because God has given them a thorn in the flesh like the Apostle Paul dealt with.  Some actually believe they are sick because it gives glory to God, yet it is those who are constantly running to the doctor trying to get will.  But it seems rather strange to me that if sickness gives glory to God, why did the Lord Jesus go about HEALING the sick?  That would be a good one to explore today. INVEST WISELY

I enjoy fixing and making things, and one day one of my wrenches turned up missing.  Well, I have several, but nobody likes to lose something, so I went to looking for it.  And it became my focus to find that wrench.  Now keep in mind I have several, so it wasn’t like losing it would be a major catastrophe in my life. But the more I looked, the more important finding that wrench became to me.  After a couple hours of diligent searching, you would have thought it was made of the purest gold and covered with the finest diamonds. IF TODAY WAS YOUR LAST DAY….

If somehow you knew today was your last day, how would you live it?  Nobody really wants to think about that one, do they?  Well, one of these days, it WILL be your last day, whether you know it is coming or not is another story altogether.  But if you did know it was your last day, what would you do?  Would you be sure to take time to thank God for your life and worship Him? Would it be a priority to get right with God if you aren’t already?  Would you forgive those who had wronged you?  Would you make amends with those you had distanced yourself?  Would you draw your loved ones close and tell them  how much you love them?  These and so many other questions come to mind. I BELIEVE

There is a sign in my friend’s home that says “Hope…anything is possible”. And hope is a good thing, because without hope, there is no reason to believe.  But yet the Lord Jesus said in Mark 9:23, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. Indeed, the sign in my friend’s home is accurate, BUT, consider this:  “anything is possible” , which can include “nothing” will happen.  If the Lord Jesus had wanted us to rely on HOPE, He would have said, “If thou canst hope, all things are possible to him that hopeth.” But He didn’t, did He? THANKSGIVING ALL YEAR LONG

We are fast approaching the yearly day of Thanksgiving, the day on which we are supposed to be thankful for all the blessings God has given us.  We sit down at the table with family and friends and partake of a huge nice meal, symbolic of all the blessings we have been given, sometimes followed by a nap from having a full belly. HOW SPIRITUAL WARFARE AFFECTS YOU

Today’s article is about choices, and how they affect us, both short term, and long term.  Why are we involved in spiritual warfare?  It’s because Satan is after our soul.  If we did not have hope of eternal life, he would not be bothering us so much, for the whole world is under his sway.  He doesn’t do battle with those he already has control of; rather, it’s the ones who want to be free that he targets.  As in the political world, a dictator doesn’t bother those he already controls, it’s the ones he DOESN’T have total control of that he sends his forces against to deal with them. WHEN THE TRUMPET OF GOD BLOWS
