The Book of Proverbs is also called the Book of Wisdom, and I like to study from it every day. Why? Because there are 31 Proverbs; one for every day of the month. And today while reading Proverbs 10, verse 22 just kind of jumps off the page at me, and this is what it says:
The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.

A word kept repeating in my spirit last night and today; LOVINGKINDNESS. That’s certainly what is needed in each of our lives, more and more as the days continue to grow more evil day by day. By what means are we saved? Is it by our own works, obeying commandments and observing Holy Days? If that were so, we would not need a Savior, it would simply be a matter of our own choice. We could be secure in our salvation by making sure day by day we performed according to all the rules. But what if we slip up? Or what if we misunderstand some obscure jot or tittle and performed according to our understanding, only to find out in the judgment that someone taught us wrong?

It is written in Proverb 21:2, “Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.” This is just the nature of mankind, to always think we’re right. We can never admit we’re wrong, can we? Why, I remember recently I thought I was wrong, but thankfully I was mistaken. But the LORD ponders the hearts. And boy, are we full of pride. Well, maybe YOU are, but not me….(and that’s how we make excuses to God). I for one need all the help from God that I can get, because like the Bible says in Genesis 6:5,
And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

GOD IS WATCHING

Last week I wrote about “judgment is coming”. We have a tendency to want to execute that judgment ourselves against those who do us wrong. Now with all the rioting and looting that is going on in our country this last week due to the criminal element looking for any excuse to do their thing, we who love the LORD are caught in the middle. When criminals loot and burn in your city, should you just “turn the other cheek” and let them destroy all you’ve worked for, or should you defend your possessions? Our flesh says destroy those who are trying to destroy you. We have every legal right to defend ourselves. We have laws in place to deal with looters, but first you must catch them.

Each day I study Proverbs because there is one for each day of the month. There is a particular verse I like in today’s Proverb, 29:16, When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall.

What would it be like if everyone covered everyone else’s sins with love? Instead of finding and revealing everyone’s faults, we would instead ask ourselves, “Would we want others broadcasting OUR faults?” Well of course we wouldn’t, but that doesn’t stop it from happening, does it? What we all need in this “downtime” that much of the world is going through right now is more love and understanding. No matter who you are, you need your sins forgiven. There is NO ONE who can say they have no sin, we are ALL sinners, and as such, we are in need of mercy!

Have any of you ever been to a wax museum? That is where they have wax statues of famous people, and they look so real you’d swear they are alive. They are so perfectly prepared, the hair style is right, the facial expression is right, they eyes are bright, the skin tone is correct, the correct clothing, and everything is there except one thing: there’s no life. It’s just wax, an image of the real thing.

If you are born again, no doubt at one time or another you have heard the Holy Spirit admonish you. This week while looking at Facebook, I was about to make a comment, and the Holy Spirit convicted me not to do that. And while my comment would have been correct, given the way things are going these days, the LORD obviously didn’t want me to make that comment, so I didn’t.
