IS THE HEAD CONNECTED TO THE BODY?

There is an error being perpetuated by those who want people to believe there was something lacking in the work of Jesus on the cross. And that error is “generational curses” upon those who are saved. This needs to be addressed and exposed for what it is.
The devil is ever at work to try to pervert the message of the Gospel. He was at it in the early church, and he’s still at it today. He was a liar then, and he’s a liar now. He’s trying to disconnect the Head from the Body.

IF I HAD A HAMMER….

Have you ever heard the old song ‘IF I HAD A HAMMER”?  Well, you’d think most of the Christians in the world claim that one as their favorite song by the way they bash away at each other so many times.   Now I know that each of us are individuals, having our own unique personalities and traits.  But being different in belief or opinion does not necessarily make a person wrong.  Just try this simple test with the person next to you.  Take a piece of paper and write down these three things:  Continue Reading »

FAITH, OR FEAR?

A few days ago I got a letter in the mail soliciting membership in an auto club. For the sum of a few dollars, I was told I could travel worry free. Continue Reading »

WILLING AND OBEDIENT

Today as I was driving home from church, asking the Lord what would be the subject of my next newsletter, it became clear what I was to write about. I have been thinking a lot about Isaiah 1:19-20, “If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land; but if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword; for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.”
We receive lots of prayer requests, some about needing healing, some about needing finances, and some about needing favor or jobs. But they’re always about a need, an area in which they are lacking something to be living in the perfect Shalom that God wants for us. Am I walking in that perfect Shalom? Not in every area, but in many, yes. Does that mean I’m either not willing or else I’m not obedient in some area? Well, If I read my Bible right, YES!

WALKING THE LEDGE

Picture yourself walking a narrow path upon the side of a mountain. You can see the path is treacherous and winding ahead, and below is certain death if you fall. How would you choose your steps? Would you carelessly just stroll along the path with no concern? Very likely, you would choose each step carefully, testing the footing to see if it would hold your foot. The path we walk is the life we live. At the end of the path is our eternal destiny. If we pass successfully with our walk with Jesus as our Lord and Savior, eternal life awaits. The way is strewn with loose rocks, false paths leading to dead ends or traps, and slippery places intended to cause us failure. And if that isn’t bad enough, the devil is there to encourage us to walk close to the edge. He says, “Why not walk close to the edge for the thrill? And besides, the view is better from there.” Continue Reading »

GOD-FULL OF MERCY AND GRACE

Far too many Christians I know spend the majority of their time beating themselves up, trying so hard to please a God who they think is out to get them. And from time to time I talk to people who are thinking about giving up. Today was one of those days. One of them said “I just can’t do this anymore, I want to back off all this so the devil will leave me alone and give me a break.” Continue Reading »

DO YOU ARGUE WITH GOD?

Have you ever tried to argue with someone that knew they were right? No matter how much you try, you just can’t win. Well, it’s the same way with us when we try to argue with God. There are two rules to remember when you try to argue with God.
RULE NUMBER ONE: GOD IS ALWAYS RIGHT.
RULE NUMBER TWO: IF GOD IS WRONG,

BASKET CASES

When writing to a dear friend today whose car had broke down, a thought occurred to me;
It’s amazing how a $3 hose can put a car out of commission. But if you think about it, a car is only as good as the sum of it’s parts, and only as strong as the individual pieces that make it up. Some new cars have self-diagnostics on board that constantly check every system of the car and alert the driver if something is wrong. But unless the driver stops and fixes what the diagnostic system says is wrong, the car is headed for a failure. That’s where a mechanic comes in. Sooner or later you will need one. Everyone does. You will either drive to one, or be towed to one.  Well, the body of Christ needs “mechanics” too.

INTEGRITY

After doing expensive repairs on our motor home, and now computer problems again, it’s obvious to us the devil doesn’t like what we’re doing. But I don’t care what the devil doesn’t like.  He’s not my boss anymore.  We parted company 14 years ago.   Continue Reading »

GO TO CHURCH

The Apostle Paul told us in Hebrews 10:23-25, “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for He is faithful that promised;) and let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another , and so much the more , as ye see the day approaching.”
There’s nothing the devil wants more, than to get you to turn loose of your faith. It’s somewhat like being in a canoe. If the canoe rocks, the natural reaction is to rock the other way. But if you rock too hard, it goes even farther over the other way. Pretty soon, you’re bobbing and weaving to keep it upright. You know, if you sit still and resist the temptation to be tipped over, the canoe will right itself. Remember, as long as you’re in the canoe, you’re ok. It’s when you fall out that you can drown. No one ever drowned while still in a canoe.
