PREACH AND TEACH JESUS CHRIST

The book of Acts was called that because the disciples did something. After the resurrection of Jesus, the disciples who had followed him to the cross, then witnessed him alive again did something. They didn’t just think something, they took action.  That action of preaching Jesus got them in lots of trouble sometimes.

WHEN DOUBT COMES CALLING

This isn’t the first time I’ve shared my testimony about how God healed me of five melanomas and liver cancer, and it won’t be the last. When I was diagnosed with cancer in July 1993, the doctors gave me a month to live. So I did the wise thing; I went to church and was prayed over for healing. And I continued to get sicker after I was prayed for. Continue Reading »

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

When is enough, enough? Each day our religious freedom is steadily being encroached upon. Imagine that, in a country founded by our forefathers who built this country on the love of God. How absurd it is to allow people who want to exclude God from the United States to be allowed to do so. Continue Reading »

SHOPPING FOR THE TRUTH

My wife and I were talking last night about shopping in the grocery store. Don’t you men know your wife has lots of good ideas, that she’s not just another pretty face? She gave me a good idea for an article. So I will give her credit where credit is due. Of course, she prefers cash. Or better yet, diamonds and gold. Continue Reading »

NO FEAR

Well, the days have been getting longer, but the time has been getting shorter, it seems. And as we see ourselves constantly in a rush, we must remember that as the age draws to a close, time will go faster, anxiety will rise, fear will be rampant, troubles will be evident all over the world. Oh, my, what am I going to do? Continue Reading »

THE ABRAHAMIC COVENANT

There has been some critical teaching going around of how God promised Abram a son, but he took matters into his own hands and at the wishes of Sarai, went in to Hagar and begat Ishmael. It has been said that Abram did not wait on God’s timing, but how he decided to “help God along” by going in to Hagar. Continue Reading »

THE VIOLENT TAKE IT BY FORCE

There is a verse in Matthew 11:12 that intrigues me. It says, “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the Kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.” Continue Reading »

HAS THE CHURCH LOST IT’S POWER?

In the ninth chapter of Acts, we have the account of Peter raising Dorcas to life again.  Now, giving a little background here, this is the same Peter that denied even knowing Jesus, before he was filled with the Holy Ghost and power on the day of Pentecost.  This was the same peter, that after Jesus was crucified, said he was going fishing, and went back to his old occupation.  But the day of Pentecost changed all that, didn’t it?  Continue Reading »

THE STORY OF JONAH

I preached a sermon on the whole book of Jonah this morning at a local church, how our disobedience and stubborness can keep us from having the best that God has for us. It’s like this. Suppose you have two young sons, and one does everything he can to please you and obey. The other one is rebellious, and looks for every way out of obeying rather than submitting to your authority as a parent. Continue Reading »

OFFENSE INSURANCE

What would it be worth to you to be able to go through the rest of your life and never be offended or offend again? Oh, you could wear a clothespin on your nose and wear a surgical mask so as not to ever smell anyone’s bad breath, or them smell yours, but I’m not talking about that. There are many other ways we offend people, even though most are done with the mouth. I remember the old Dial soap commercial that went, “Aren’t you glad you use dial? Don’t you wish everyone did?” You see, some of our ways are smelly to others. And they’re smelly to God, as well. Maybe you need “Offence Insurance”. Continue Reading »
