2010 Campmeeting July 2-5, 2010 Cortland, New York

Jerry will be the speaker for the evening services at Campmeeting 2010 July 2-4th at Cortland, New York, see website for details: www.reigningone.org   Pastor Don Evans is the host.  Ya’ll come!

The Word of God is flowing free, the camping is free, the food is free, so you have no excuse not to be there!

A love offering will be taken at each service.

*note, the campmeeting has been extended another day, ending evening of July 5th, unless the Lord extends it longer. Jerry will again be the main speaker.

IN GOD WE TRUST

    Years ago I saw a sign in a store that said, “In God we trust-all others pay cash.”  Somehow that stuck in my mind and I’ve never forgot it.  In other words, if God needed credit, they would gladly grant it to Him, but others? Forget it.  It’s nice to know that if God came up short, someone would be willing to float Him a loan, because He is trustworthy.  Yet, though the world is in recession, the Kingdom of heaven is not going broke.  God’s government does not need a bailout, nor will it ever.  Continue Reading »

COMING OUT OF THE CLOSET

    These days we read a lot about people “coming out of the closet”, confessing they have been involved in illicit sexual affairs or other scandals, sometimes having done so for several years.  Careers and marriages and families have been utterly destroyed in the process.  Most recently we’ve read about certain political and sports figures who turned out not to be who and what we had thought them to be.  Sadly, there have even been Christian leaders who participated in such things, though the Bible says it should not be so.  Continue Reading »

WHEN GOD BREAKS HIS PROMISE

   Have you ever felt in your heart that God has broken His promise?  Has your situation ever become so opposite of what is written in His Word that you finally threw up your hands and said, Well, that’s it, the devil was right, God didn’t come through after all?   If so, you’re not alone.  Many people have.  But they forgot the two most important rules when dealing with God:  Number one, God cannot lie.  Number two: If you think He DID, refer to rule number one. Really, life is simple when you live according to those two rules.  Continue Reading »

GOING THROUGH THE SIFTER

   Satan will always try your faith, for lack of a better way of describing it.  There’s a passage in Luke that says it better, Jesus told Peter that Satan desires to SIFT him.  In other words, sifting is pushing something larger through a very small passage, crunching it down forcibly, removing, destroying, reshaping everything upon it until it is small enough to fit through the prescribed opening. DON’T COMPLAIN

   We often hear “Don’t worry, be happy”, but have you ever noticed that people who complain are never happy?  And chances are, if you hang around them very long, you won’t be, either.  Complaining cuts you off from happiness, among a few other things, like prosperity and healing, for example.
    I can imagine what it must be like for God to hear a complainer’s prayer, let’s listen in for a moment:  Oh God, don’t you know my family treats me like dirt?  I work my fanny off for them and never get any appreciation…EVER!   And do you know what my sister did to me??  Not to mention that I work way too many hours for a lot less than others get paid.  God, why don’t you ever bless me?  Why don’t you ever……

WHERE’S THE POWER?

   Recently I attended a ministry conference where they talked about “DUNAMIS”.  For those of you who don’t know, DUNAMIS is a Greek term which means the following:

WHEN DOUBT COMES CALLING

   Which is easier; to believe, or to doubt?  Well, it depends which way you’re facing.  If you’re facing the biggest mountain you’ve ever seen in your life, and it looks like there’s no way over it, under it, around it or through it, then it might be easier to doubt if you’re like most people.  But, like I said, it depends which way you’re facing.  If you’re in faith, then that mountain will move, one way or another whether it wants to or not.  In fact, you’d have to do an about-face and actually doubt, for it not to move.  Continue Reading »

   “Whosoever will”, that’s how God puts it, anyone who wants know Him personally and live in His blessing is welcome: whosoever, anyone, anywhere, regardless of sex, race, or national origin. WHO WILL YOU CALL?

   If you’ve watched TV lately, you will see about half of the commercials are trying to sell you some kind of drug to treat whatever you perceive ails you.  A pill to help you sleep, a pill to wake you up, a pill for your allergies, a pill to help you breathe, a pill to get you up when you’re down, a pill to calm you down if you’re overactive.  There’s a pill to help you gain weight, a pill to help you lose weight, a pill for birth control, a pill to help you conceive a baby, a pill to abort a baby.  There’s a pill for heartburn, toothache, bellyache, heartache you name it.  Not to mention that most of the drugs list side-effects that can be as bad as the ailment, or worse, maybe fatal.  Continue Reading »
