OVERCOMING, OR JUST GETTING BY?

Blame it on the global economy if you wish, but the fact is, many of God’s people are going under when they should be going over.  Anyone who knows me knows I love to teach about healing.  So I will use healing as a springboard into other areas of life. Continue Reading »

WHATSOEVER YE ASK, BELIEVING

Just yesterday I received a phone call from a friend who is going through hard times.  This particular person is a believer in Christ Jesus and what He did on the cross for us.  When she called, I felt in my spirit she was on the verge of giving up.  My heart hurt at hearing about her situation, and we prayed, as we often have in the past.  For her, it’s been one battle after the other for all the years I’ve known her.  She has been taught to throw her burdens over on the Lord Jesus and leave them there.  Now understand, we all go through hard times, for we all have a common enemy which is Satan, and he is an equal-opportunity destroyer.  That means he hates me as much as he hates you, so he doesn’t care whose day he ruins, just as long as it’s someone.  And if it’s someone who loves the Lord, then so much the better, it’s like we have a target painted upon our back. THE KINGDOMS OF THIS WORLD

As we study God’s Word, we are assured at some point things will no longer be “business as usual”.  The world is becoming more filled with wickedness every passing day.  Ever since the entrance of sin into the world at the Garden of Eden, there has been evil in the world, sometimes more, sometimes less, but it’s always been with us.  Each generation looks back and says the older days were better, and I have to agree. But I take much comfort in knowing that evil will have an end.  Continue Reading »

REJOICE EVERMORE

When I asked the Lord what to write about, the answer came quickly: 1 Thessalonians 5:16:  Rejoice evermore.  After that came “the rest of the story”, to which I have to add the next three verses: Continue Reading »

WHAT DOES THE LORD REQUIRE?

People write to me and ask, What does God want me to do?  I think it’s wonderful that people even want to know what God desires of them.  But here’s the problem: if you meet a hundred persons, there will be a hundred opinions of what the Lord requires.  Actually, the solution is simple; why not just let God himself tell us?  How does He do that?  Will He speak to us in an audible voice?  It has happened at times, but why would He need to when He has already spoken to us through His Word?  Continue Reading »

EXPECT TO RECEIVE

The Lord sometimes shows us very profound things by using simple means.  This morning as I came down the stairs, our pet dog JOY was waiting for me.  When I stood before her, she stood up on her hind legs wanting me to pick her up.  Why did she stand up?  She expected me to pick her up, and I did.  We went outside for a short walk and when we came in I reached in a bag and got her a doggie treat.  As I held it in my hand, she sat down looking up at me earnestly EXPECTING TO RECEIVE.  And receive she did.  I was happy to bless her with a treat. DID GOD CREATE DEATH?

Many have asked, Why did my loved one die even after they were prayed for?  Today I will try to explain something the Lord impressed upon me concerning death.  It’s a hard subject to deal with, when we know God is the author of life.  But is He also the author of death?  Continue Reading »

WHAT’S ON GOD’S MIND?

Have you ever asked yourself “What’s on God’s mind today?”  One day when I did that, I heard in my heart, so clearly that every cell in my being heard it:  YOU ARE!  Continue Reading »

WHAT DID GOD SAY ABOUT IT?

Today we have so many “ITIS” illnesses out there;  Arthritis, Bronchitis, Bursitis, Colitis, Conjuctivitis , Dermatitis, Ileitis, Neuritis , Pruritis , Psoriatic Dermatitis , Rhinitis Sinusitis,Tendonitis, and that’s only a few.  All you have to do is turn on the TV and they are selling a pill for this or that, or telling you there is some new disease you’ve never heard of, and guess what?  There are some people who, when they hear of any new illness, they sit and wonder if they have it.  And the symptoms match, right?  So they must have the “itis”, alright.  Continue Reading »

THE VALUE OF A SOUL

Throughout the whole world, people work to accumulate things of value.  Depending on your culture, beads may be of great value, or livestock, or diamonds, or gold.  Value is determined by the beholder and the situation at hand.  To someone out in the middle of nowhere starving to death, food and water has greatest value, and a diamond ring wouldn’t be worth the bother of picking up off the ground.  Many put great value on land, homes, possessions and money, while overlooking the most valuable thing of all.  Continue Reading »
