WHAT YOU COMMIT TO GOD IS HIS

Have you ever heard the expression by some married folks, “What’s mine is mine, and what’s yours is mine”?  Well, we try to use that same mentality sometimes with God.  Let me explain:  when we have a problem, we take it to God, right?  Do we let God take care of that problem, or do we keep our hand of ownership on it?  More precisely, when we lay that problem at God’s feet, do we relinquish ownership of it?  Or….do we watch for a while to see what God will do, and if He doesn’t get on it quickly enough to suit us, do we take matters back into our own hands? ACCORDING TO YOUR FAITH

When we think of faith, we associate it with prayer to God.  The Lord Jesus told us in Mark 11:22, Have faith in God.  The literal Greek translation is, Have the faith OF God.  He didn’t tell us to have just any old kind of faith, but the GOD kind of faith, the very faith that He used to call  the entire creation into being.  And you will notice throughout Genesis Chapter 1 that God never said, I sure hope this will work….  However, ten times in the first chapter alone, it says “And God said….”  It says in verse 31, “And God SAW…”  What did He see?  He saw what He said! SERVANT OR SON?

Most of us have read the story of the Prodigal Son, taught by Christ Jesus in Luke 15. The story is really as much about the father as it is about his two sons.  Many have taught about the younger son who asked his father for his inheritance early, then squandered it.  But what about the older son, and what can we learn about him? THE KINGDOM OF GOD

Today I’m looking for some Kingdom builders.  It’s my heart’s desire to see the Kingdom of God established on Earth.  The world is in such a mess, and by all indications, unless God does something drastic, it isn’t going to get any better.  In fact, THESE are the “Good Old Days” people will talk about in years to come.  Now, there’s no shortage of people who tell me they want to be in the Kingdom of God, but there seems to be a shortage of workers these days.  Continue Reading »

DANGEROUS TO THE DEVIL

Most Christians go through life hoping they can just live out their lives in peace without too many problems.  They don’t want to make waves.  To me, living life on the defense is no better than spending life ducking behind a shield, peeping out from behind it from time to time to see what’s out there.  Remember, as a Christian you have been given a sword also, and no, it wasn’t given to you to prop up your shield, or to stick in the ground to mark where you gave up and died.  By the way, did you know a shield can be used as an offensive weapon as well? WHOM SAY YE THAT I AM?

The Holy Bible tells us that in the last days evil would increase, and it certainly appears that we are in the last days.  Now whether we are in the last days or in the last of the last days is debatable, but one thing never changes, and that is God’s Word. Continue Reading »

PARTS OF THE SAME BODY

When asking the LORD today what I’m to write about, immediately the Holy Spirit told me Mark 9:38.  So while studying in that passage it became abundantly clear the LORD wants unity in His Body, and of course we know we just aren’t there yet, are we?  Let’s look at Jesus said: Continue Reading »

WHATEVER YOU SOW, GROWS

Let’s look at the concept of sowing and reaping.  The Lord Jesus taught the people using things they were already familiar with, and sowing and reaping was certainly something they understood.  But do we truly understand how powerfully that concept works in our daily lives? Continue Reading »

LAWLESS CHRISTIANS?

Having just returned from a lengthy road trip, we had the chance to see the driving habits of thousands of people across several states.  Among those thousands were many vehicles with various religious bumper stickers.  Now, you would think those who profess to be Christians would be a shining example of driving courtesy and adherence to the speed limits, but not so.  For the most part they drove like everyone else, with no regard to courtesy or the law.  Some with “Jesus” stickers passed me well over twenty miles per hour over the speed limit.  What is wrong with that picture?
