BLESSING GOD, YET CURSING YOUR NEIGHBOR?

While I’m not exactly known for being subtle in ministering to others, I am sensitive to their needs. After all, what good does it do to sugar-coat unacceptable behavior?  It only shows approval and makes excuses for and enables it, so it just continues to go on.  Well, we want people to know beyond any shadow of a doubt that we are Christians, right?  Then how will the world be able to recognize us; by our bumper sticker?  How about our Bible bag?  Maybe it’s by our “church face”?  More importantly, how will God be able to recognize His own when it’s time for Him to take them home?  Maybe we need to qualify “His own”. NO GRAY AREAS

God makes His Word very clear to us, so clear that we have to deliberately work at it to misunderstand.  It could be said the LORD sees only black and white, with no shades of gray.  His promises are clearly spelled out, as well as the conditions attached to them, yet people tell me all the time that they just don’t know for sure, saying, “How can I know for sure what God’s will is?” Continue Reading »

Our weekly Newsletter

Hopefully you are used to looking on our site every Friday for our latest post.  As of last week, I will not be mailing out individual emails by the thousands to those on our mailing list, as the rules for email are getting more stringent by the day.  By using Mail Chimp and doing the newsletter as a blog, it eliminates spam, keeps our mailing list current and hopefully will help more people to receive it.  If I make additional posts during the week, you will get them.   I hope you will pass the word onto your friends, who can come to our site and opt in to receive the newsletters.  Take time to look around on our site, I have written HUNDREDS of articles that are sure to help you.  Your comments are invited.

We are here 24/7 to serve you and when you send a prayer request to me, I will IMMEDIATELY pray for it, day or night.  And of course you can always call me.  Jenny and I are full-time ministers, not part-time.  This is what we do, plus we travel to minister wherever the LORD sends us.  If you would like us to minister at your conference, church, or group, just contact us.  We’re here for YOU!

HOLY IS THE LORD

One of the first things that comes to my mind when I awake each day is, “Holy is the LORD, and most worthy to be praised.” That sets the theme for my entire day.  It’s telling me that God is not like a man who sometimes breaks his word when it is not in his power to perform it.  Even a man of the highest integrity does not have all power to make his word good. TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES

Truth or Consequences; what am I referring to here: a TV game show from years ago, or a town in New Mexico?  Neither.  I’m talking about believing and following the truth, or you will suffer the consequences. Continue Reading »

ALWAYS BEING CONSISTENT

There are at any given time thousands of people believing God for a miracle.  For some it may be in the area of finances, for others healing, for others peace in their home.  It doesn’t matter what kind of miracle you need from God, there is one key that is common to all, and that is consistency.  First, let’s define “consistent”; possessing firmness or coherence, marked by harmony, regularity, or steady continuity: free from variation or contradiction, marked by agreement. Consistent also means showing steady conformity to character, belief, or custom, tending to be close to the true value of the parameter estimated as the sample becomes large.  In a nutshell it means doing the same thing time after time without variation. SETTING YOUR PRIORITIES

We are in the beginning of a new year, closing in on the second coming of Christ Jesus.  That’s the most important thing on anyone’s plate when you get right down to it.  What was the first thought that came to you when you woke up this morning?  Be honest now, you may fool me, but you can’t fool God.  Was your first thought about the Kingdom of God, or what you had on your agenda to do today?  This will come as a shock to many folks, but if the Kingdom of God isn’t first on your mind, you probably won’t be there when your life on earth is over. YOU HAVE WHAT YOU SAY

Do you realize your environment is largely a result of your own words?  It is, and today I hope to show you how to make your own little part of the world a better place.  We all know people whom we would rather not be around.  Don’t look at me like that, you don’t love EVERYONE, nor do I.  There are people who just seem to “get on our nerves”, and it isn’t because of the way they look, it’s because of things they say and the way they act. DODGING DISCOURAGEMENT

People ask me from time to time, Jerry, don’t you ever get discouraged?  My honest answer has to be “Define discouraged”.  I’m no different than anyone else, would YOU be pleased if after having worked for many hours on something on your computer, that it crashes and all your labor was lost?  Two weeks ago everything I’ve spent years building in my address book was lost due to a computer failure.  Thankfully I had it all backed up, or so I thought.  It turns out the backup files got corrupted long ago and is apparently unreadable. So, am I discouraged?  Again I say, define discouraged.  The more correct term might be @#$%^**!!  AAARGH!!!

JOB ONE

What would you say if you were asked why Jesus came to earth? Have you given it much thought lately? If you consider yourself a Christian, and you don’t know for sure why He came, then you really NEED to know. In His own words in Luke 19:19 He said, For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
What would you say then is “Job One” for those who follow Christ Jesus? Should it not be to continue the job the Lord Jesus started during His ministry? The early disciples did, but somehow a couple thousand years down the road, things have changed. You see, far too many “Christians” see Jesus as their servant, instead of the other way around. It’s easy to spot them, for most of their prayers are self-centered, “Lord, give me a new home, a new car, prosperity, health and make me HAPPY!” Now of course, none of US pray like that, so I must be talking about someone else, right?
