God makes His Word very clear to us, so clear that we have to deliberately work at it to misunderstand.  It could be said the LORD sees only black and white, with no shades of gray.  His promises are clearly spelled out, as well as the conditions attached to them, yet people tell me all the time that they just don’t know for sure, saying, “How can I know for sure what God’s will is?” The short answer is, read the Bible.  So the next response I usually hear is, “What if the Bible is mistranslated, how can I know for sure what He is saying?” Again, read the Bible.  If you still have questions, get your hands on a Greek or Hebrew dictionary and translate word for word if necessary those parts you don’t understand, until you DO understand.  It is written in 2 Timothy 2:15; Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Why study?
Most assuredly, if you aren’t interested enough in the Word of God to study it, you’re never very likely to have much of a grasp on what it truly says, but are most likely just interested in the “blessings” you’ve been told about, and forget the rest.  And most assuredly, the devil will use your ignorance of God’s Word against you, to steal even what you THINK you know about God’s Word from you, resulting in confusion even about the simplest matters.  The sad part is, if you don’t diligently study the Word of God, you will never come to know the truth about God, that He is vitally interested in having a relationship with you, and wants you to have all the blessings He has provided for in His Word.  Did you know every promise of God has a condition that must be met first?  Most involve an act of obedience, meaning if you do what God puts forth as a condition to you receiving that particular promise, it’s a done deal for you, for God cannot lie.
As I said earlier, there are no gray areas in God’s Word.  It is either this or that, and nothing in between.  Just as a light switch is either on or off, so is God’s Word.  Have you ever tried to halfway turn a light on?  Yes, I realize there are dimmer switches that can set the brightness of a light where you might say it’s halfway bright, but it cannot be halfway on.  Either electricity flows to it, or it doesn’t.  You cannot halfway believe the Word of God and see results, nor can you halfway obey God and expect a blessing.  And I say this ESPECIALLY about the area of healing, which most of you are interested in, by the majority of prayer requests I receive daily to pray over.
I spend long hours on the phone with people ministering to them to settle their questions about the Word of God.  Some people tend to think of His Word as a mystery which cannot be solved.  Not so, for God is very clear in His intentions toward mankind.  Ignorance of God’s Word is inexcusable in this day and age where we can research the Bible with speed and clarity that was not available to people a thousand years ago.  Some people spent their entire lifetimes researching the Word of God, writing down the results of their research for future generations, which we can search today in mere seconds what they took years to discover.  My conclusions today are the same as generations past: God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and HE CANNOT LIE!
Yet in times past, people believed God and took Him at His Word, and they saw mighty miracles.  Why? because in times past, a person’s word MEANT something to them, and if they promised to do something, they did it.  Not so today, we read today in the news how politicians promise one thing and do something else entirely, and it isn’t just politicians, my friend, it’s the most part of society.  So the result is, if I can’t believe YOU, then I can’t believe GOD.  Thankfully, God is  not a man that He should lie.  That means if God said it, then that’s exactly what He meant, and He WILL do exactly what He says, every time, without exception, with no gray areas whatsoever.
How is it then we fail to believe God’s Word?  It is in the nature of man to WANT to believe in something or someone, it is in our nature to seek truth and worship.  People often worship false gods and follow false doctrines, but nonetheless they ARE seeking something they perceive as God.  That’s just “built into us” so to speak.  So why not get in God’s Word and get to know Him?  Everything you read there is TRUTH, and there is no lie therein.  God is not even capable of lying, He couldn’t lie if He wanted to.  On the other hand, we are quick to believe the devil’s lies, and he can’t tell the truth, for there is no truth in him.
God’s Word says we are healed by the stripes of Jesus.  So the devil says, “If you’re really healed, why do you feel sick?”  “If it is God’s will to heal, why are so many sick and dying of disease?”  He asks a thousand times “If “ and “why”, yet there is a single answer: FEAR NOT, ONLY BELIEVE THE WORD OF GOD.  “Only believe” has an obvious meaning, which by the virtue of the word “ONLY” means it rules out everything EXCEPT believe.  If you believe, you aren’t doubting.  If you believe, you aren’t wondering “what if?”  There is no room for unbelief and doubt when it comes to God, you either believe, or you don’t, and there is no gray area.  If you believe, you will enjoy the fruit of your faith, and if you don’t, you won’t, period.  I don’t know how to say it any plainer than that.
People tell me they are TRYING to believe.  That confounds me.  How do you TRY to believe?  It’s beyond me.  It’s like TRYING to think, you either do or you don’t.  You TRY to ride a bicycle, maybe you will, maybe you won’t.  But don’t TRY to believe God.  Just do it.  No worries, God is good for His Word.  Just make sure you’re good for YOURS.  There are no gray areas in the Word of God, everything is right there in black and white, all you have to do is read it, believe it, and live it.  That’s YOUR job, and God will take care of the rest, that’s HIS job.
