When asking the LORD just now what I’m supposed to write, He said to me, “Just in time.”  Well, this is a particularly hard letter for me to write today, because we just returned home from a trip where we returned from ministering to a family in North Carolina whose son was in the hospital in ICU.  The family had been believing God for six years to heal their son, and there were prayer intercessors all over the country praying for this young man for months around the clock.  I made two trips out there and laid hands on him for healing, the first trip three weeks ago saw him rally and improve. But later he developed sepsis in his blood, organ failure and he died a couple days ago in spite of all our prayers.  And God has often healed people for me at the last possible moment.  But not this time, and He tells me write “JUST IN TIME”?  Why, LORD?  It makes no sense to me. DELEGATED AUTHORITY

Delegated authority is the subject today, and it seems a lot of Christians have a problem with that concept.  We read in Luke chapter 7 of about a Roman Centurion who can teach us a great deal about delegated authority.  His grasp of authority even made the Lord Jesus marvel. Continue Reading »

DIMMER SWITCH FAITH

Today I’d like to talk about faith, because without faith it is impossible to please God.  It is written in James 1:2-4,
Jas 1:2  My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
Jas 1:3  Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
Jas 1:4  But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
Now I know this is EXACTLY the opposite what we feel when we are in the middle of trials, but the Bible tells us that we are to have JOY in trials, because God uses them to strengthen us, not to destroy us.  Trials can make or break us, depending upon whose strength we are trying to get through them with.  Lean on the LORD, and you’ll do fine.  Try to make it on your own, and you may, or may not.  Personally, I don’t like those odds, so depending on the LORD’S strength is my only option. GETTING RESULTS IN HEALING

OK, we have asked God to heal, His word says YES,. so what’s the problem? It isn’t with God , it’s with the people.  You never see where the disciples taught the church keep on begging and begging and praying and praying, it was done once.  Down through the ages doubt and unbelief has entered the teachings of the church and has considerably watered down the power that Jesus granted his disciples.  By the way, if you are a BELIEVER, then YOU are one of those disciples, no matter what age you lived or live in. HEALING IS THE CHILDREN’S BREAD

Everywhere I go, there are people who don’t believe it is always God’s will to heal, and they believe that way because so many are prayed for to receive their healing, yet they aren’t.  And I would admit that is pretty compelling evidence for the naysayers, except I have read the Bible cover to cover several times and find that what God wills, and what people believe are usually two different things. DO YOU BELIEVE GOD?

If you ask the average Joe on the street if they believe in God, most will say they do, but some don’t.  If you ask the ones who say they believe IN God if they BELIEVE God, most all of them will say they do.  BUT DO THEY REALLY?  How can you know?  You can start by asking them WHY?  A few will say, “God cannot lie”.  And that is a correct answer, but here’s the test:  when the going gets rough and the devil is causing them all kinds of trouble, what are they doing?
Psalm 23:4 says, Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Continue Reading »

A REPROBATE MIND

We are living in an age where many people no longer care to have God in their thoughts, because mankind has become so “advanced” in science and technology and medicine, many feel they no longer have need of God.  It is a very sad thing to have that mindset, in that all of God’s love and blessings are available to all, but many choose to turn Him away. But it’s nothing new, the Apostle Paul wrote about it in his own day. Continue Reading »

TRIUMPHING OVER EVIL

You’ve often heard the saying, “Bad things happen to good people”. Well, bad things happen to everyone.  The Lord Jesus said in John 10:10, The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. You see, friends, the devil is an equal-opportunity destroyer; and he doesn’t discriminate, his favorite thing is to destroy EVERYONE and EVERYTHING.  So, that means if you’re here on the earth, guess what?  He is out to destroy you.  Whether or not he gets away with it is up to YOU! “Really?  I thought that was God’s decision!” No.  God has put in place a protection plan for His kids, but again, they must USE it, and God won’t make them.  Let’s explore this today. HIS WORD IS SURE

It is impossible to build a durable house without first laying a solid foundation.  Yes, you can build a house on the sand without a foundation, like the Lord Jesus said, but when the rains come, and the floods come, the house will be destroyed.  But, he who builds his house on the rock, when the floods come, and they will whether you think so or not, the house will stand.  You see, it isn’t a question of whether you will face hard times in your life, but WHEN.  The foundation you have laid will determine if you will stand or suffer great loss, and that’s the subject today. REGRET OR RESTORATION?

Every one of us has things in our lives we wish we could go back and change. We can go through our lives living in regret, or we can move on and determine to do things better.  I have met people from both of these categories.  One thing is in common to both groups: one thinks they can’t move on, and the other thinks they can, and do you know what?  They are both right!  The only thing holding us in regret is ourselves.  There is a saying, “experience comes by having done something over and over”.  Wisdom comes when you recognize you’ve made the same mistake over and over, and you quit doing it.
