GOLD, SILVER, PRECIOUS STONES, WOOD, HAY AND STUBBLE

When studying in 1 Corinthians 3 this week, it became obvious the LORD was building upon the last few weeks of my previous articles.  Over the years the teachings of the original disciples has been altered, watered down, or downright changed. THE FRUIT FALLS CLOSE TO THE TREE

Do you happen to have a fruit tree in your yard?  At our old home we had peach trees, apple trees, a pear tree, and a cherry tree.  We loved taking care of the trees and enjoying the fruit that grew in abundance each year.  And we didn’t have to go very far to find the fruit, either, for it was right there in our yard either on the tree or right under it.  We never had to go to the neighbor’s yard or across town to find the fruit.  So it stands to reason to me that if someone claims to be a Christian, there should be the fruit of Christ Jesus, RIGHT THERE, for the fruit is either on the tree or right under it. PASS IT ON

Have you ever noticed how much email you receive asking you to forward it to others that you know?  People ask you to forward jokes, or pictures or some cute story, and most people do forward them.  But how many of those items truly bear importance and the need that many be notified?  Not many.  Now that’s not saying the picture of Aunt Bertha’s cat doing a back-flip isn’t the most important thing Aunt Bertha has seen in her lifetime, but in the scheme of things eternal, is someone’s life going to be changed?  Not likely. ISN’T IT SCARY?
The Lord awoke me this morning with a startling question. Now, when the Lord asks you a question, could it be He already knows the answer, and you don’t? How would YOU like to be woke up with the question, ISN’T IT SCARY? Well, like anyone else would respond, I said out loud, Isn’t WHAT scary? DISCERNING A COUNTERFEIT GOSPEL

Before every genuine move of God there is always a counterfeit, and maybe several of them, which the devil uses to deceive people from the true Gospel of Christ Jesus.  Early on Jude warned in verses 3-5;
Jud 1:3  Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
Jud 1:4  For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Jud 1:5  I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. Continue Reading »
