SAY WHAT???

We hear preachers tell us about all the promises that are in the Bible for us.  We get real excited when we hear how God wants to bless us.  But after the sermon is over, do we get our Bible out and study to see if these things are really so?  In most cases, it doesn’t happen.  For some reason, when church is over, we tend to put our mind back in “world mode” and four hours after church, most people can’t give even a reasonable recap of the sermon they just heard.  And if we can’t even remember what was said, we’ll say, four hours later, how in the world do we expect anything in our life to change the other six days?  The truth is, we can’t. WHY JESUS CAME

Almost anyone can quote you John 3:16, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.   Why is it so important to God that mankind be saved?  Wouldn’t it be simpler for God to destroy us off the face of the earth and start over and create a new race of beings that were not bent on defying Him?  You would think so.  It isn’t God’s fault that Adam and everyone born since him has rebelled against Him.  This gets me to wondering why He feels so responsible for the mess we ourselves have made. What’s in it for HIM? Continue Reading »

SECOND PLACE IS FOR LOSERS

Ask any race car driver, they will tell you that second place is only “first place loser”.  There are only two options, winning and losing.  It doesn’t matter if you tie for second or third place, you’re still tied for “loser”.  Of course, you can look at losing as “almost winning”.  Sadly, too many are satisfied with “almost winning”. REDEEMED FROM SICKNESS

God said if you abide in His Word, then you are His disciple indeed, and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.    I hope this brings revelation to you.    This week I’ve been hearing the word “redeemed” a lot, and have been giving it a lot of thought.  We hear that word often, but do we really, I mean REALLY know what it means? DON’T DIG UP YOUR SEED

Have you given much thought about how your words affect your life?  Your words create the world you live in, to a large extent.  Allow me to set up an example.  You may have been praying and believing for healing of something that has been ailing your body.  At home you were watching a preacher on TV that was teaching about healing, maybe it was me, even.  And you got all excited and started confessing, “Yes, I am healed by the stripes that the Lord Jesus took on His body for me.”  Later, you are at the store shopping, someone asks how you are.  Your response is, “Well, not too good.  My arthritis is acting up again and it just never seems to get any better.”  Guess what?  You’re digging up your seed.   Say what?   Continue Reading »

DO YOU KNOW JESUS LOVES YOU?

One of my favorite witnessing tools when I go out to eat is a simple question I ask my waiter or waitress:  “Do you know Jesus loves you?”  Of course, the usual answer is “yes”.  That prompts another question; Does Jesus know you love Him?   That usually brings a reply like, Continue Reading »

REDEEMED FROM THE CURSE

As I lay awake unable to sleep last night, the Lord was showing me something about the Old Testament law in a way I’d never seen it before.  This is concerning Matthew 5:17- 18, “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.  For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.”   This is a scripture widely used to teach us that the law was fulfilled and brought to completion by Jesus.  This is how the Holy Spirit explained it to me.  We will say you have a contract with the State to build a road from point A to point B.  You start at point A, and when you have built the road to point B, the terms and requirements of the contract have been satisfied, and you stop building.  That seems simple enough.
