This seems to be a very trying time for some people, and indeed, we are seeing things coming to pass that we have never seen before, both concerning the Glory of God, and events happening all around us that have been prophesied for thousands of years.

The end of the age is drawing nearer day by day, and the natural disasters, wars, rumors of wars, earthquakes, floods, fires are just the beginnings of the sorrows that will be coming on the earth, just as it was prophesied.  It should be of no surprise that the words of the Prophets are coming true, because God said it , and that settles it.  You can pray, wish, deny, ignore, whatever you want, but sooner or later, God will bring to pass everything He has said, whether we like it or not.  He is not limited by time, as we are.  But He is limited by His word.  He never lies, and never has.  And He isn’t about to start now.

In short, that means, no matter where you open the Bible and point your finger, it is truth, and cannot be altered, not even by God himself, for it has gone forth out of His mouth, and will not return to Him void.

Over the years, I have learned two rules about dealing with God; #1. God is always right.  #2. If God is wrong, refer to rule #1.  You’ll save yourself and others a whole lot of trouble.   For example, many people say “God is not doing miracles anymore.” Or, “God doesn’t heal people today

What they’re really saying is, God is wrong, because they haven’t seen it happen with their own eyes, even though the Bible says He changes not.   Thank God for rules #1 and #2.

Because some try to operate with the theory that God is not Almighty, they think He is limited in what He can do. Or rather, He is limited to what WE think He can do.  If God was as helpless and impotent as some would lead people to think, there would be no need to pray to Him whatsoever.  We might as well bow down and pray unto ourselves.  There’s only one problem with that; how do you bow down to yourself?

It’s time we realize exactly who it is we are dealing with.  Allow me to introduce you to GOD ALMIGHTY.  First off, He is the same, yesterday, today, and forever.  He is without beginning or end.  He is absolutely pure, blameless, Holy, Omnipotent, Omnipresent, All-Knowing, All-Powerful, and that’s just for starters.  He commanded the universe to exist by His spoken word, creating everything that exists from nothing but His own power, with no help from anyone whatsoever.  I don’t know about you, but God has never woke me up in the morning and asked me how I think the universe should be run today.  Seems He has it well under control.  Of course, we could all offer Him some advise, right?

To give you a fair comparison, mankind was created by Him, yet mankind cannot create even a simple living blade of grass from nothing but a spoken word.  Not even a grain of dust, nor a spark of electricity can man create from a word.  Yet, God did, and does today.  He maintains His creation without our help, and keeps order in His universe.  Not a sparrow falls to the earth without God’s knowledge.  We can’t even keep a desk drawer in order….

Walk outside at night and look up.  Can you number the stars?  Can you tell them where to go, and they obey you?  God created them, and knows the name of them all.  They are His.  And you are too, by the way.

The thoughts you are thinking right now, do you know the process by which that happens?  Can you tell me how gravity was created and how to turn it off and on at will?  Can you speak to the sun and command it to not give its light?  Can you do something as simple as create a living being who can think and speak?   No?  Then what qualifies you to ascertain if God is or is not doing something?

Although the Bible says we were created in the image of God, we seem to know very little about our Creator, or about how He does things.  Yet He knows everything about us.  He knows our thoughts, our needs, our desires, our intentions, and most of all, He knows our eternal future.  By contrast, not one of us can guarantee we will take another breath, or know what will happen in the next 30 minutes.  Nor can we decree thus and thus will happen next Tuesday on the moon, and make it come to pass.  Yet, we think we are somehow qualified to say God has departed from doing what His word clearly says He does?  To me, that borders on insanity.

If you were a person who always kept your word and did what you said you would do, would you be pleased if someone who didn’t even know you said you didn’t keep your word?  Then do you think God is pleased when people who claim to know Him, but really don’t, say God doesn’t keep His word?  It would be like me saying to my wife: ”Honey, I love you, but I don’t believe a word you tell me.”  What kind of relationship would that be?  And yet, when we speak in unbelief about God’s promises, we are doing just that, and it surely hurts the heart of God that we would doubt Him.

For all that God does for us, you would think we would be a lot better about loving Him, worshipping Him, and most of all, believing His word.  Is God really who He says He is?  Or did all this stuff just “happen”?  Did God really create all this, or did it all just come from Wal-Mart?  What about the “Big Bang” theory?  Well, personally I believe God said it, and “Bang”, it happened, just like He said.  God created this whole earth for mankind to have dominion over, to fellowship with Him, enjoy the fruits of our labor, and walk in all His blessings.  But until we give God His proper place above all, we will live way below the standard He created for us.

Once we learn to believe every word that proceeds from the mouth of God, and start acting on it, we will finally begin to tap into what is already there just waiting for us to enjoy.  Dust off that Bible today and start reading it like your life depends on it, because it does.  Be informed!  Learn what God said, and the next time someone tells you something that is contrary to what the Bible says, tell them, Look, God said it, and that settles it!

Several years ago, I heard a prominent minister say, “God said it, I believe it, and that settles it!”  The Holy Spirit spoke to my heart saying, “Jerry, that isn’t altogether correct.”  I said, “Lord, I’ve never heard that minister say anything that isn’t in line with Your Word.”  The Holy Spirit said to me, Jerry, it’s like this; I said it, and that settles it.  Whether or not you believe it doesn’t change My Word.  Every Word of mine is forever settled in heaven.”   It became abundantly clear to me how important it is for us to line our belief  (and obedience) up with the Word of God if we are to enjoy the benefits God has prepared for us.  There are multitudes of people who can quote the Word of God, yet don’t believe it applies to them.

There are many sick folk in the Body of Christ that believe they are saved, yet when they are told that healing also belongs to them as part of their covenant, they will argue with you that it is God’s will they stay sick.   They believe that because they have asked God to heal them, and they are not yet seeing the manifestation of it, that they are somehow giving glory to God by remaining sick, because Christ suffered, so that proves they must also suffer.  Tell me, just who do you think you are that you are exempt from what God said?

I guess I harp on Psalm 103:2-3 a lot, but if we can’t grasp this simple passage, how will we get the “hard” stuff that Paul preached?  It says, “Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits; who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases.”  Once all of you get that truth down inside you, and have it working in your life, I’ll move onto another.  But let’s get this one down first.  There are no simpler truths in the Bible than these two verses.  Nothing deep and theological about them, and a three year old can understand them.

A man of God said,  God’s children are trying to build a third floor on a vacant lot without having first built the foundation and the first two floors.  Until you get it set in concrete that “GOD SAID IT, THAT SETTLES IT”, you will never get very far with God, and you will spend your life trying to “settle” what part of God’s word is true, and what part isn’t.  Let me help you here:  It’s ALL true.

God’s word tells us how to be saved.  It tells us how to be healed, how to have peace, how to prosper, how to live, how to solve every problem we face.  But we still try to do it on our own.  You can clearly see by the state of affairs in the world that man’s way has not gotten us the desired results.

Most of us have spent a great deal of our lives like the guy who bought his child an unassembled bicycle, who thought he could assemble it without reading the instructions.  He thought he knew it all, and started to work.  Hours later, when he got done, his wife looked at it and wondered what on earth he had brought home. You may laugh, but somehow, we think we know more than our Creator who made us.  And when He says something, we have to weigh it by our experiences and try to decide if it is so or not.  Life would be so much more enjoyable and full if we would simply read our Bible, and declare, GOD SAID IT, THAT SETTLES IT.
