Yesterday I was writing in my journal with one of my favorite fountain pens. And it got me to thinking. When you write something with a fountain pen, you have to think about what you’re doing, because once it’s written, it’s there for good. I think some things are better left unchanged. However, today the sign of the times is “change everything” and not much is sacred.

Like our Constitution, for example. Have you ever noticed it was hand written in pen and ink? It was well thought out before the pen ever touched the paper. But today’s people are looking at it like something you draft on your computer, that is, if you don’t like what is written, you just delete that part and re-write it the way you want it. Well, what has happened is this; society as a whole has inched away from God, until those “we”, have put in power have looked at what they call “good and acceptable”, and said, the Constitution doesn’t agree with what we want to do, so we will change it. Notice I said “we”. And if you didn’t vote in the election, you weren’t part of the solution, you were part of the problem. You may say, How can I, one person, make a difference? Glad you asked. Ones add up, my friend. If enough “ones” step up and start actually doing something, writing letters, calling people, things can be changed. How do you think so few people, like Madeline Albright, for example, have made such drastic changes in our way of life? You see, “ones” do make a difference. But only if they act. Good intentions are a dime a dozen.

Those who drafted our laws in the beginning of this country had a pretty good handle on what was right and wrong because they had a strong relationship with God. And they weren’t afraid to stand up and say so! You know how our money says “In God we trust”? What if they had said, “In our Army we trust”, or “In corn we trust”? But they didn’t. They said in GOD we trust, and they wrote it in permanent ink. Or so we thought. Today, there are people trying to remove that saying from our money. Can you believe that? And those things that were written in ink are being deleted and replaced every day by our lawmakers, which means “we” are doing it. and “we” are being held accountable by God for it. What are they being replaced with?

I call them A-boms, short for Abominations. God dropped this word in my spirit recently. You’ll soon be seeing this word a lot as I start pushing it in the churches, on the radio, on TV, the printed page, every way I can find to broadcast it! I have to make people understand what the A-boms are doing to our Country, to our families, to our way of life, and to the world.

Like the A-bomb that was dropped years ago on Hiroshima that brought massive death and destruction, these “A-boms” are destroying people today. The American way of life, the good life, that Godly men wrote into the Constitution is being destroyed all around us by the A-boms being rained down upon us daily. And the saddest part is, we Christians are doing precious little to stop it. Oh, we say, “Somebody needs to do something! It’s terrible what’s happening to our society !” Well, HELLO SOMEBODY! I’m a somebody, and I do more than hope someone else will do something. You’re a somebody. Will you help me? Don’t pray for “somebody” to help me. YOU need to help. Somebody won’t, because they always think somebody else will, and in the meantime, the A-boms keep doing what A-boms do without the slightest opposition. How do you think prayer got taken out of our schools? Hello?? Because somebody thought somebody else would stop it and nobody did. Ouch!

First, let’s define A-bom. We do that not by our definition, but by God’s. If God says something is an abomination, it is greatly abhorred by Him, and we don’t need to vote on it or appoint a committee to study it. His Word is final. Let’s look at a few examples in the Bible.

Pro 6:16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:

Pro 6:17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

Pro 6:18 A heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,

Pro 6:19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
Lev 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Deu 7:25 The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therein: for it is an abomination to the LORD thy God.

Deu 7:26 Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thing like it: but thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing.

Pro 11:1 A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight.

Pro 15:9 The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the LORD: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.

Jer 2:7 And I brought you into a plentiful country, to eat the fruit thereof and the goodness thereof; but when ye entered, ye defiled my land, and made mine heritage an abomination.

Eze 22:11 And one hath committed abomination with his neighbor’s wife; and another hath lewdly defiled his daughter-in-law; and another in thee hath humbled his sister, his father’s daughter.
Luk 16:15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

Rev 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it (HEAVEN) any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

I call people who do this stuff “A-boms” because they’re “destruction” walking among us, working for the destroyer himself, the devil. They’re not bad people, they’re just deceived. These verses are only a small sample of what God says is an “abomination” to Him. You can get in your Bible concordance and look up the word yourself, and you will see how far our country has slid away from God.

But there’s GOOD NEWS!

The Lord Jesus, who is rich in mercy and grace will abundantly forgive and pardon ALL who repent! Isn’t it amazing, the grace of God? Abominations bring death to all who do them. But God so loves us, He asks us to turn from them so He can save us and bless us!

We look at our lives and wonder why things are not going so well with us? Could it be an A-bom is in our midst, in our very home? Look around you, are you blessed? Are you healthy? Does peace reign in your home? Is there a hate in your heart for all that God hates? Is there a love in your heart for all God loves? By the way, He loves those people I refer to as the A-boms, He just hates the destruction they cause. Loves the sinner, hates the sin. Got that?

Now, this is where the rubber meets the road. God sends me around proclaiming the Good News that God is not out to destroy people, but to save them from the evil things they are doing. He loves them. Boy, that’s a switch from what a lot of preachers preach! Some say, Turn or burn, or God’s gonna send ya’ll to Hell. The Lord Jesus said “If I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto myself”. Sounds to me like He bought us a ticket to heaven, not hell, and that’s good news, not bad. He said in Luke 4:18-19,

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

So our job is to lift up Jesus. He told me once that He had called me to be a fisher of men. He said, Jerry, you catch them, I’ll clean them. Sounds like a deal to me. You see, God loves the sinner: the homosexuals, the atheists, the abortionists, the drunks, the drug dealers and addicts, the pimps, the prostitutes, the ones caught up in pornography who just can’t seem to get free. But He hates the sin.  Jesus came to free them. That’s the Good News! God has identified the “abominable” for us, so we don’t need to vote if it’s acceptable behavior or not.

By looking at God’s word, we can see the “A-boms” need Jesus. Rather than write them off as a lost cause, we just need to obey God and preach the good news that Jesus wants them free, and do OUR part, and let GOD do His. And that doesn’t mean for us to bury our heads in the sand and let wicked people take over. Rather, it means for us to stand up and speak up for what is right and take action to put abominable stuff out of our midst. It means being bold for the Kingdom of God and determining we will not allow these abominations to destroy us and our families. And the very people we need to reach with the Gospel don’t go to church for the most part, so we must go to them. Why? Because Jesus loves them, and if we belong to Jesus, then we need to love them too. Notice I said love them. Not participate in their sin or talk ugly about them. If you want to catch fish, you must go where the fish are, right? They’re not likely to come looking for you. Sure, Jenny and I preach in churches, but much of our ministering is done outside the church walls. And you’ll find most of yours will be, too.

One of those A-boms may be one of YOUR loved ones, or neighbor. I think you see my point.

So I’m asking, please help us, because people are dying without Jesus every day. People are dying every day from sickness and disease that haven’t been taught that Jesus healed them 2000 years ago! Perhaps those people could still be alive if they had been reached in time. I can’t reach everyone by myself. That’s why I’m asking every Christian to get involved. Yes, that even includes YOU! Remember, the more people we can win to Jesus, the less disagreeable people there are in the world! And a world without A-boms is a happier, safer world. Right?
