GOD YESTERDAY TODAY AND FOREVER

People are sure getting wound up about the Presidential election. Yes, it is a very important thing to the Citizens of this Country. There is much suspicion about voter fraud, and illegal voters casting their ballots when they are not even authorized to vote in the first place. Then there’s outright fraud, in accusations of false counting of ballots. I remember when I was young, both the Democrats and Republicans put forth their best candidate, and the country voted, and pretty much everyone was ok with the outcome. That was because it was believed that both parties had the best interests of the people in their heart, so whichever person won, it would be a win-win for our Country. And it SHOULD be that way. But what happened? It sure isn’t like that anymore!

NO FEAR LIVES HERE

It is written in 2 Timothy 1:7, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” Well then, where is all this fear coming from concerning the economy and COVID-19? This I can tell you for sure: it ISN’T coming from God! Every time something goes “bump” in the night, someone is going to stir up fear, if it isn’t the devil, then it’s your friends or family.

WHEN DISCOURAGEMENT COMES

Have you ever had discouraging days? Sure you have, we all do. And we feel we are left all alone in the world with no one to comfort us. Well, I’ve had a few of those lately, and just this week a beloved friend died who had cancer, whom I’ve ministered to, anointed with oil, laid hands on, prayed in faith, did everything the Bible called for, and he STILL died. And I’m not the only one discouraged, just think about his wife, parents, children, and family. What do you do in that case?

CONSIDER HIM

Today I’d like to start with an encouraging scripture, found in Hebrews 12:1-3,
1  Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2  Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

ALL HIS PROMISES ARE YEA AND AMEN

None of have life without problems of one kind or another.  The devil delights in driving down our road of life in his dump truck while his helpers are busy in back shoveling out potholes, dead ends and detours.  So are the days of our lives, with our paths strewn with problems.  Many people find themselves in trouble as they hit a rough spot in life, and the natural thing for them to do is to try to solve their problems on their own.  But when they find themselves overwhelmed by the problem, sooner or later, they cry out to the LORD for help.  Well, you know the LORD has every solution for every problem, no matter how severe it is. DRAW NIGH TO GOD

We spend a lot of time praying, asking God to get the devil off our case, to heal us, to fix our finances, to do this or that, when all the time God has already given us the solution to our problems.   His instructions are clear and are not a mystery hidden in layers of dark sayings, yet we tend to ignore them and try to find another way.  Why is that?  It is written in James 4:7-8 :
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
