WATCH YOUR WORDS

 

Whether you believe it or not, our world is framed by words.  It makes no difference whether you believe that or not, that’s just the way it is.  If you don’t happen to believe in gravity, it doesn’t care, it applies whether you believe in it or not.  If you happen to be one that doesn’t believe in gravity, do this: hold a bowling ball above your bare foot and let go of the ball.  If there is no such thing as gravity, then nothing will happen.  But if there IS, you’re going to have a very sore foot, whether you believe in gravity or not. GOD IS A REWARDER

It is written in Hebrews 11:6, But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. That verse is very clear in its meaning, and you don’t need to be a Bible scholar to understand it. You cannot come to God unless you believe He exists. And He is pleased that you believe in Him enough to diligently seek Him. And for that He will reward you. Rewards come in many shapes and sizes. We all like rewards, right?

ARE YOU WILLING AND OBEDIENT?

Every Christian wants the blessings of God. That seems to be a no-brainer. And God wants you to have them as well.  Here is what He says about it in Isaiah 1:16-19:
16  Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;
17  Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.
18  Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
19  If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:

BECOME WISE

Ever since man was created, God has been making His wisdom available to them.  In the Garden of Eden, God gave Adam dominion over all the earth, with only ONE “Thou shalt not”, concerning the tree of knowledge of good and evil.  God was setting Adam up for a wonderful life, and warning him to leave that tree alone.  Then God created Eve and brought her to Adam, and she was also given the warning to leave that tree alone.  So what happened?  We all know the story, they disobeyed God and ate of the tree they were told to leave alone. MORE ABOUT THE POWER OF OUR WORDS

The Bible has a lot of teaching about words.  Are we REALLY aware how very much power our words have?  They not only affect how we get along with other people, they also affect our relationship with God, and they most certainly affect every area of our lives and even our health.  And yet most people speak things out without having the slightest sense of the consequences of those words.  Words can incite riots, words can heal, words can build up, words can destroy.  We need to be very careful with our words, they are like bullets in a gun, once fired off, they cannot be called back. WISDOM INCREASES YOUR STRENGTH

The Bible tells us to seek wisdom, yet most of the world seeks possessions and money, not realizing that if  you have wisdom first, possessions and money come easily.  God’s Word, if we will USE it, will teach us wisdom.  He is the source of ALL wisdom, and He is not stingy with it, but rather, He wants us to listen to His instructions so we will become wise and be blessed and prosper.  But for the most part, people choose their own path, and in vain struggle their whole lives trying to gain on their own what God is trying to freely lead them to. WHY SO MANY DENOMINATIONS?

It troubles me that there is so much division in the body of Christ. In every town there are several churches, all preaching a different “Gospel”, with different doctrines, some do this, some do that, and none agree with the other to any great extent.  Somewhere along the line, the Gospel got hijacked, and the “Gospel” we are hearing today doesn’t line up with the Gospel the disciples heard from the Lord Jesus.
