HOW TIME FLIES

Just a moment ago I was remarking to my wife how it seemed like just yesterday it was the first of August, and now we’re in the third week of September already. Where has the time gone? When we were kids the time would just drag on, and we couldn’t wait until we were “big”, whether that was ten, or twelve, or fifteen. But now, my, how time flies. I remember a saying from one frog to another while they were sitting on a lily pad, “how time is fun when you’re having flies”. Well, some of us ARE having fun, and some of us are having flies, but still, how time flies. Continue Reading »

AND YOU CAN HAVE IT FOR FREE

I just got off the phone with a telemarketer, wanting to give me a two week vacation in the Bahamas. And he said, “and you can have it for FREE!”. Yeah, right, what’s the catch? You see, when you’re dealing with the world, there’s ALWAYS a catch. Well, the catch is, you have to do so many presentations per day of their product while you’re there, and if you sell the required number of product, your trip is free. Less airfare, meals, hotels, local taxes and gratuities, of course. Thank you, but I’ll pass…..

IS IT WORTH IT?

When you go shopping to buy something, it’s only normal to look at the price tag to see what it costs, that is, unless you are rich and don’t care what it costs, but few of us are rich. We try to get the best value for the price. Now if you don’t happen to be satisfied with what you bought, sometimes you can get a refund. But there’s something we all spend, and that is time. And if you don’t like what you got for your time spent, sorry, there is no refund, ever. You can never replace that time, it’s GONE! Well, what does that have to do with you? Everything!

FOR GOD SO LOVED

It is written in John 3:16, For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Let me ask you a question; exactly what does that verse mean to you?

DON’T WASTE YOUR LIFE

One of the saddest things I’ve seen is talking to old folks who, looking back, regretted things they had done in life. Some had worked in jobs they hated, some had stayed in abusive relationships, and some ran from God their whole life. Time is so precious, and we only can spend each moment of it once. There is no “do over”, to go back and change things, so we shouldn’t waste it. Regret is a thief of joy, and it doesn’t matter if you’re rich or poor. Many would blame finances for regret, but you can be rich and still be miserable. In fact, there have been many suicides among the rich and famous.

GOD IS A REWARDER

It is written in Hebrews 11:6, But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. That verse is very clear in its meaning, and you don’t need to be a Bible scholar to understand it. You cannot come to God unless you believe He exists. And He is pleased that you believe in Him enough to diligently seek Him. And for that He will reward you. Rewards come in many shapes and sizes. We all like rewards, right?

UNTIL CHRIST BE FORMED IN YOU

Certainly, all who name Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior want to become like Him. The problem seems to be “the process” we all go through as the heavenly Father molds and forms us into the very image of Christ. It is written in Philippians 2:13-15,
13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world.

THE WAY IT IS

We’ve all heard the expression, “that’s the way it is”. So whatever it is you’re talking about, you just accept it as that and drop it. That is, unless you’re like I am. I like to study deeper into things and get to the bottom of the matter. Now, while I appreciate the hard work and research of others, there’s still nothing like searching a matter out for yourself, so you are satisfied every stone has been turned over, every “I” dotted and every “t” crossed. Else, how are you going to stand up when the circumstances point contrary to what everyone else believes?

THE HEALER IS “IN”

Once again today the LORD reminded me why He called me into the ministry in the first place, and that was for me to teach His people how to be healed and healthy. The other day I was reading comments on our website about an article I wrote years back called ‘When God Breaks His Promises’. I saw many comments pretty much cursing God for not doing such and such for them after they believed for a long time, for not healing them, or whatever, and it hurt my heart. We are all entitled to our opinion, right or wrong. After all, God gives us freedom of choice. Sometimes we choose rightly, sometimes not.

ARE YOU WILLING AND OBEDIENT?

Every Christian wants the blessings of God. That seems to be a no-brainer. And God wants you to have them as well.  Here is what He says about it in Isaiah 1:16-19:
16  Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;
17  Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.
18  Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
19  If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:

I assume you want to eat the good of the land?  Then I would also assume you are willing.  So the question must be, ARE YOU OBEDIENT?  Now it is also written in Deuteronomy 28:1-2, Continue Reading »
