It is written in John 3:16, For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Let me ask you a question; exactly what does that verse mean to you?

How is it that God could love a bunch of rebellious, stiffnecked, self-absorbed people, who from Adam on, have disobeyed and disregarded Him? I have to ask myself that question, not pointing any fingers at anyone, but only at myself, for I know myself better than anyone else does. My little brain cannot fathom how God could love even ME so much that He was willing to sacrifice His Son so that I might live. And when trying to multiply that love times all the billions of human beings on earth, it staggers my imagination. Imagine if only five people on earth are as rebellious to God as I was, how could God love that much? How could He love that much if there were a hundred? Or a thousand?

Could it be that all humankind are infected with the “Satan Virus”? Yes, we ALL are, and it takes a whole lot more love than we can fathom, that God would not simply wipe the slate clean and start over again. He did, you know, when there were only a FEW on earth, saving only Noah and his family, and do you know what? The “Satan Virus” spread all over the world again as the population of the world replenished. And still, the love of God is so immeasurable that He STILL set out to save us anyway. Why? Because when He created mankind, He made us in His own image, in His own likeness, and He cannot deny Himself. We were created to be part of Him, AN EXTENSION OF HIM AND HIS LOVE!

Every time I consider the invitation God made, “That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life”, I am left speechless. Because of what Christ Jesus did for us on the cross, God is willing to overlook all our offenses; ALL OF THEM! The payment for our sins cost us nothing whatsoever, but it cost Christ Jesus more than we could ever comprehend. I remember about fourteen years ago seeing a movie called “The Passion”, which portrayed Christ as being tortured, disfigured, beaten beyond recognition, spit upon, and nailed to a cross in the most inhumane manner that man could come up with. They held back no wicked thing they could imagine. I cannot get that scenario out of my mind. Christ Jesus bore all that to pay my sin debt, and YOURS also. And He did it willingly. He CHOSE to die for us, so that we could be restored to the relationship God originally created mankind to have with Him.

God created mankind perfect, without spot, wrinkle or blemish. And when He created Eve, she was created the same way, no makeup required. They were not crippled up or sick, nor were they broke, for everything they could want or need was right there, free for the taking, no permits needed, no taxes, no restrictions on their freedom, except the one command, not to eat of the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. And of course, we know the rest of the story, how Satan screwed up paradise for everyone. Adam and Eve used their power of “free will” to choose to rebel against God, and we’ve been paying for it ever since. But YOU can use YOUR free will to choose to be a “whosoever” and believe in Christ Jesus, so that you can have everlasting life.

Perhaps you have already made that choice, but you’re finding you’re still not “there”? Then you need to not only freely receive forgiveness from Christ Jesus, but yourself as well. Many still suffer from self-condemnation, even after asking Christ Jesus to save them. It’s time to say goodbye to self-condemnation, self-hate, and guilt. You see, when Christ Jesus came to save you from sin, He also came to save you from yourself, to RESTORE you whole. Maybe “restore” is not the correct word for me to use, as “restore” means to make back as before, and truthfully, none of us have ever been “whole” before, have we? We’ve all been a mess from the word go. But today is a new day, and “whole” is on the menu for “whosoever will” have it. How about it? Will YOU be made whole today? Will you give Him your sins, your hurts, disappointments and broken dreams? Will you surrender your sickness to Him? Will you do it NOW??

The LORD is waiting for your reply……
