Priorities

To those who are listening, the Holy Spirit is saying urgently, “Prepare yourselves for Jesus’ coming!” There is an excitement in the air, almost like “electricity”. I have felt that urgency only one other time in my life, and that was in July 1993 when the doctor told me I had five melanomas and liver cancer, and I would be dead in a month. An overwhelming feeling of urgency came over me. The hair on the back of my neck stood up. I felt hot all over. Suddenly, everything that was important in my life was no longer important. Making money wasn’t important. Having fun wasn’t important. Impressing people with my collection of Mercedes Benz cars wasn’t important. The only thing that was important to me was where I was going to be spending eternity. I knew where I was headed, and it wasn’t heaven. Continue Reading »

IT ALL WORKS BY LOVE

In 1st Corinthians 13:1-7, the Apostle Paul spoke about love: Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.  And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.  And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.  Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

It is interesting to note that there is one thing powering all the Gifts of God. It’s love. Yes, it takes faith too. Without faith it is impossible to please God. But Paul said faith without love is worthless. We can get out of balance with faith if we’re not careful.

SO WHAT’S JUST A DEGREE OFF?

With all the miles we travel to minister, I imagine the OPEC people must like us, as we sure give them a lot of business. Every time we plan a trip, we get out the map, and plot our course. And, if you happen to be a pilot, you know how important a compass is. Recently, while looking at a compass, I was inspired by the Holy Spirit. Continue Reading »

DISTRACTIONS

Recently, the Lord started talking to me about “distractions”, and instructed me to preach on it. I made a tape and CD of it, and part of the impact of it was lost if you weren’t there to see it. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to make a DVD of it. You just had to be there to get the full effect. But I’ll tell you what the Lord had me use as an illustration. It was powerful, too. I scattered dollar bills from the pulpit all the way to the door. During the worship service, people were wondering why all the money was laying on the floor. Continue Reading »

WHY WAIT?

While seeking the Lord about what to write, He simply said “Why wait?” I said, Lord, I’m going to get right on it. Then it struck me like a 2×4 upside the head…He wasn’t referring to something I was putting off, He was instructing me what to write, so here goes. Continue Reading »

HOW TO HAVE A NET-BREAKING HARVEST

Everyone these days is looking for a harvest. There is a LOT of teaching out there on sowing and reaping, and here’s one about reaping. We should be specific as to what kind of harvest we want, and that is determined by the type seed we sow. But in this teaching, I would like to focus on the”size” of the harvest. There is more than one kind of harvest. So in order to determine what kind you are believing for, let me provide you with some choices. First, there are small harvests. They come from small sowing. We aren’t interested in a small harvest, are we? No one ever is. And there are bigger harvests that don’t break your net. And then there are harvests that break your net. “Supersize” is the usual request. I would like to describe the last two, being you are not interested in a small harvest, and let you choose which kind you’d rather have. I think you will be surprised at your choice. Don’t choose until you’ve read it all. Continue Reading »

ISN’T IT SCARY?

The Lord awoke me this morning with a startling question. Now, when the Lord asks you a question, could it be He already knows the answer, and you don’t? How would YOU like to be woke up with the question, ISN’T IT SCARY? Well, like anyone else would respond, I said out loud, Isn’t WHAT scary? Lord, You aren’t afraid of anything and You tell Your children not to fear. He proceeded to share this with me: Continue Reading »

NO MORE PASSIVE PRAYERS

There is a lot of good teaching out there on prayer. There are many different kinds of prayer. There are prayers of adoration and worship, prayers of petition for healing, or finances, or for the salvation of loved ones, etc. But there is only one desired conclusion, and that is, we want what we have prayed for, right? NO MORE SACRIFICE FOR SIN

On the surface, after reading Hebrews chapter 10, most would believe if you sin, even once, knowingly after receiving Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you’re out of God’s Kingdom. Not, three strikes and you’re out, but one strike and you’re out! I agonized for years over that chapter myself. I haven’t led a perfect life since being saved, and chances are you haven’t either. LOOKING FOR THE LOST “ONES”

Recently, Jenny and I got back from a 3 day trip to Kansas about 11pm, and from there I got on the net to answer prayer requests, and got to bed after most people were on their way to work, for a short nap. It’s an odd ministry I’m in, it seems. While most of my contemporaries are out ministering in churches, when I’m not ministering in conferences, or churches or prisons, or hospitals, I’m doing one-on-one for many hours a day on the internet. Yet I know that Benny Hinn and other large ministers could not spend hours praying for one person, and teaching them for hours on end as I do on an individual basis. Continue Reading »
