REDEEMED FROM SICKNESS

God said if you abide in His Word, then you are His disciple indeed, and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.    I hope this brings revelation to you.    This week I’ve been hearing the word “redeemed” a lot, and have been giving it a lot of thought.  We hear that word often, but do we really, I mean REALLY know what it means? DON’T DIG UP YOUR SEED

Have you given much thought about how your words affect your life?  Your words create the world you live in, to a large extent.  Allow me to set up an example.  You may have been praying and believing for healing of something that has been ailing your body.  At home you were watching a preacher on TV that was teaching about healing, maybe it was me, even.  And you got all excited and started confessing, “Yes, I am healed by the stripes that the Lord Jesus took on His body for me.”  Later, you are at the store shopping, someone asks how you are.  Your response is, “Well, not too good.  My arthritis is acting up again and it just never seems to get any better.”  Guess what?  You’re digging up your seed.   Say what?   Continue Reading »

DO YOU KNOW JESUS LOVES YOU?

One of my favorite witnessing tools when I go out to eat is a simple question I ask my waiter or waitress:  “Do you know Jesus loves you?”  Of course, the usual answer is “yes”.  That prompts another question; Does Jesus know you love Him?   That usually brings a reply like, Continue Reading »

REDEEMED FROM THE CURSE

As I lay awake unable to sleep last night, the Lord was showing me something about the Old Testament law in a way I’d never seen it before.  This is concerning Matthew 5:17- 18, “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.  For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.”   This is a scripture widely used to teach us that the law was fulfilled and brought to completion by Jesus.  This is how the Holy Spirit explained it to me.  We will say you have a contract with the State to build a road from point A to point B.  You start at point A, and when you have built the road to point B, the terms and requirements of the contract have been satisfied, and you stop building.  That seems simple enough. YOU AND ME AND THE MONKEY MAKE THREE

Sometimes I’m amused about the titles God gives me to write about.  So we’re into monkeys now, are we?  Well, for today we are.  The monkey is called “offense”.   Let’s picture someone walking into the store with a monkey on their back. It would get some stares, wouldn’t it?  Well, back in my day it would have. I realize these days nothing raises an eyebrow in public, but humor me, ok?  Continue Reading »

A RING FOR MY CHILD

The Lord reminded me about the Prodigal Son, in Luke 15:11-32,  this was the younger of two sons who had gone to his Father, saying, Give me my inheritance now.  He didn’t want to wait until the Father died. He wanted it NOW.  Of course, we know that’s the same as saying, Father, I wish you were dead so I could have my stuff.  Continue Reading »

IS THAT YOU, LORD?

When we say the Lord told us to do something, how can we be sure it’s really Him?  Continue Reading »

WHO’S YER DADDY?

I was born in Indiana, the “Hoosier State”.  Years ago I gave a short introduction about myself at a church, and jokingly said, Indiana is called the “Hoosier State” because people there ask “Who’s yer Daddy?”   Well, it broke the ice, and everyone got a laugh.   But that has stuck with me ever since.  Who’s your Daddy?  They’re talking about my heavenly Father!
It is written in Revelation 21:7, “He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.” Continue Reading »

THERE’S ROOM UNDER THE SHADOW

One of my favorites,  Psalm 91, which I continually pray over you, starts off “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High, shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.  I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God, in Him will I trust.”

People say there are those practicing witchcraft against Christians.  So what??? Who cares??  If God be for you, who can be against you?  Better still, If God be for you, who cares who’s against you?  Continue Reading »

CONTENDING FOR THE FAITH

There isn’t a lot of teaching out there on the book of Jude, and if you haven’t read it lately, you’re missing out on some really good stuff.  For now I’ll focus on the first seven verses. Continue Reading »
