WHO ARE YOU GOING TO BELIEVE?

When you are faced with circumstances seemingly beyond your control, who do you believe?  We all have friends and family who will be quick to offer their advice on any given situation.  While a wealthy person may be able to give you some good advise on finances, that same person might not be the one you’d want to ask about a plumbing problem.  An area of expertise in one area does not guarantee expertise in another.  You want to go to the one who is an expert in doing what you need done, that not only knows how to do the job, but has a track record of getting positive results. REPENT- FOR THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS AT HAND!

This morning when studying in Matthew 4 and 5, the Bible reminded me that Jesus’ first public sermon was “Repent: for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand.”  How much more the Kingdom of heaven is at hand now, than it was 2000 years ago.  Look around, do you see the prophecies coming true all around us?  Surely Jesus is coming quickly, and we must be ready.  Many people “ask Jesus into their life”, but no repentance takes place.  And then they wonder why they don’t become a new creature in Christ Jesus.  You know, I can’t find ANYPLACE in the scripture that tells us to “ask Jesus into our life”. We get that from “religion”, not from the Bible. Continue Reading »

IF, AND, BUT

This week I officially join the ranks of the “middle aged”, and will be 60.  And I rejoice in doing so, because in 1993 the devil tried to kill me with melanomas and liver cancer.   I can only credit that to the goodness of God, and the surety of His promises, in that His word said I was healed, in spite of what my body was doing to the contrary.  I believed His word and started speaking and acting like it, ever since then the fruit of it has been in evidence, and I’ve never been sick again.  Imagine being my age and feeling like 20.  Before I go to bed at night, I like to do a few squats….say 150 or 200.  Can your 18 year old do that?  God doesn’t want us all broke down and sick and hurting.  Our Lord Jesus came to earth to relieve our suffering, not put it on us.  Yes, we have to grow older, but we can be healthy and strong by doing it God’s way. NEVER GIVE UP!

The devil wants more than anything for you to get tired of all the trials you are going through for the word of God in you.  Just like a dripping faucet finally gets on your nerves, he is out to wear you down a day at a time, until you finally think it isn’t worth the trouble anymore.  That’s what he wants.  The devil is hoping you will take the path of least resistance, just like water does, or electricity.  He’s hoping you will become battle weary and give up your eternal inheritance that God has offered you.  He is counting on the fact that sooner or later, you’ll throw up your hands and give up.  Why?  Because so many have in the past. They got their eyes off the prize. Continue Reading »

GOD HAS NOT GIVEN US THE SPIRIT OF FEAR

What a joy it is to be loved by the Lord!  And Jenny and I pass His love along to you. He has put us all here at this particular time on purpose, not by accident.  As each day passes, we are getting closer to the return of the Lord Jesus, and all we have to do is simply look around us and we can see by the prophecies in the Bible that we are indeed nearing the end.  It says there will be wars, and rumors of wars, earthquakes in divers places, disasters abounding all around us and of course, fear will be rising up in people.   Some people fear losing their job, or their money running out.  Some fear for their health.  Some are in fear about the world events, and others about fuel prices and inflation. WHERE’S THE GLORY?

Today I want to talk about what promises to be a controversial subject, that is, where’s the Glory of God in the churches today?  Before I even start, I know many will say “God IS in our church.”  To that, my response is, “Then show me the results.  Show me hundreds, thousands of lives changed, REALLY changed! Show me miracles.”  And if you can’t, then He wasn’t there.  I’m not talking about hype and emotion and Goose bumps.  I’m talking about the presence of Almighty God like Moses witnessed, or like the early church experienced, with VERIFIABLE signs and wonders in evidence.  Continue Reading »

HATH GOD SAID?

Ever since God created Adam and put him in the Garden of Eden, we know that God has always had our blessing and prosperity in mind.  Why do I say that?  Continue Reading »

SAY WHAT???

We hear preachers tell us about all the promises that are in the Bible for us.  We get real excited when we hear how God wants to bless us.  But after the sermon is over, do we get our Bible out and study to see if these things are really so?  In most cases, it doesn’t happen.  For some reason, when church is over, we tend to put our mind back in “world mode” and four hours after church, most people can’t give even a reasonable recap of the sermon they just heard.  And if we can’t even remember what was said, we’ll say, four hours later, how in the world do we expect anything in our life to change the other six days?  The truth is, we can’t. WHY JESUS CAME

Almost anyone can quote you John 3:16, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.   Why is it so important to God that mankind be saved?  Wouldn’t it be simpler for God to destroy us off the face of the earth and start over and create a new race of beings that were not bent on defying Him?  You would think so.  It isn’t God’s fault that Adam and everyone born since him has rebelled against Him.  This gets me to wondering why He feels so responsible for the mess we ourselves have made. What’s in it for HIM? Continue Reading »

SECOND PLACE IS FOR LOSERS

Ask any race car driver, they will tell you that second place is only “first place loser”.  There are only two options, winning and losing.  It doesn’t matter if you tie for second or third place, you’re still tied for “loser”.  Of course, you can look at losing as “almost winning”.  Sadly, too many are satisfied with “almost winning”.
