WHY ARE SOME NOT HEALED?

It has been my observation that not everyone I’ve prayed for over the years has been healed.  But yet is can be proven by the ministry of the Lord Jesus that it is God’s desire all be healed. Now there are ministries out there who claim 100% success in healing, but when some of those people call me for prayer because they weren’t healed by those ministries, I have to ask why they are claiming that which is not true?  Why isn’t everyone healed?  And more importantly to me personally, why isn’t everyone I pray for healed? DON’T ARGUE WITH GOD

Who would ever presume to argue with God?  I asked myself that question one day.  With God being Almighty, and all-knowing, how could we hope to out-reason or out-argue Him?  Yet, I see it happening every day.  God said thus-and-thus, do this, or don’t do that, and we think we know better, don’t we?  Come on, now, admit it.  Continue Reading »

DON’T ABUSE GRACE

We hear a lot about “grace” in the Christian faith.  Grace is defined as “undeserved merit”, and it is the backbone of our salvation.  The Lord Jesus died a horrible death on the cross in order to pay the price for our sins, having no sin of his own, but receiving the punishment that should have been ours in His own body, in our place.  Some would say “Thank you”, and go about their merry way, living in “grace” any way they see fit, whether it pleases God or not.  Is there more to it than that? MUSTARD SEED FAITH

Prayer is a basic ingredient of the Christian faith, and faith is the power that makes prayer work.  So then, how does faith work?  Well, for some, not too well apparently.  We go through the motions of praying as our particular denomination has taught us, some begging, some declaring, some even commanding, some asking over and over and over again.  There are as many methods as there are denominations.  Everyone thinks they have the answer, but do they?  After all, the proof is in the results as they say.  There is a right and a wrong way to cause our faith to work, and the Lord Jesus gave us some valuable insight regarding faith in Matthew 17:14-21: Continue Reading »

WHAT DO YOU FEAR?

It is said that everyone is afraid of something.  Some people have a fear of spiders, some fear losing their hair, some fear being rejected by others.  There are as many fears as there are people, if not more.  There is a fear of poverty, a fear of dying of a disease, a fear of having a piano fall out of the sky on your head, you name it, the devil can come up with something for you to fear.  Yes, even I have a fear, but that is being found not believing God’s Word.  Look at Hebrews 4:1-3: Continue Reading »

SHOVELING SNOW AND FORGIVENESS

Recently while shoveling snow for about the seventh time in a couple weeks at my home, I got to grumbling about how many times I had to clear the driveway and road.
I really didn’t mind shoveling the snow ONCE.  But as soon as it was cleared, here comes the snow, so it had to be cleared again.  Everything was fine for a couple days, then the big snow hit, about 2 feet of it, and the real work began.  Again.  After three long days of clearing snow, there were high piles everywhere, the sun came out and no more snow was predicted.  Oops, the weather man is wrong, it’s snowing again.  Lord, this isn’t fair. It was then the Holy Spirit said to me, Son, shoveling snow is kind of like forgiveness.  Once should be enough, but it isn’t, I have to keep forgiving My children over and over again.  That put it all in perspective, didn’t it? RIPPLES IN THE WATER

As a child I enjoyed throwing stones in the lake where we lived just to watch the ripples. I was fascinated to watch the ripples go out in a circle from where the stone landed, and on a calm day, they would actually go all the way across the lake, bounce off the shore, and go back toward where the stone landed. Now, what possible importance could this have in the scheme of things, aside from the fact that every stone I threw in the lake would raise the water level by the amount of the volume of the stone? Glad you asked. Continue Reading »

PRAY ONCE AND IT’S DONE

There are people who think continually nagging God for this or that will get results, citing the reference made by the Lord Jesus in Luke 18:1-8;  Continue Reading »

O FEAR THE LORD

I was awakened today by the words O FEAR THE LORD, so I started looking in the Bible for where that phrase is, and found it in Psalm 34: Continue Reading »

COUNT IT ALL JOY

When trouble comes our way, how do we react?  In one scripture we are told to count it all joy when we fall into divers temptations, and another one talks about being in heaviness through manifold temptations.  Well personally, I’ve never been tempted to go diving, but I know a thing or two about manifolds, because when I was rebuilding the engine on our motor home, I had fits getting the exhaust manifold back on.  Yeah I know, with about 8,000 comedians out of work this may not be a good time to try to be funny, right?  But God does not want us to be going around with long faces.  He wants His joy to be all over us, no matter what we are facing in life.  Continue Reading »
