BE MY WITNESSES

As Christians, we often wonder, What is our job?  What does God want us to do?  Well, I can tell you what it ISN’T:  it isn’t for us to be silent about what the Lord Jesus has done for us.  Yet most Christians tend to keep their faith to themselves, and they aren’t very vocal about God.  Continue Reading »

THE SEED KNOWS WHAT TO DO

If you’ve ever done any gardening, you know seeds always reproduce after their own kind.  If you want to grow carrots, you must plant carrot seeds.  I’ve yet to plant carrot seeds and have a tomato crop come up instead; seeds just don’t work that way.  If you plant it in the ground and give it water and light, you don’t have to stand there and tell it what to do.  The seed knows what to do, for what it was created to bring forth is already programmed on the inside of it.  Continue Reading »

THE FEAR OF THE LORD

Proverbs 1:7 says;  The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.   Therefore, the LACK of fear of the LORD leaves people without God’s wisdom, knowledge, and instruction.  And that leaves them to rely on their own knowledge, which they think is enough to get by on, but in reality, it isn’t. GIVE IT TO GOD

Yes, we’ve all heard it before, when we have a problem, “Give it to God”, right?  But how many of us actually DO it, and then leave it at His feet?  Many of us think God created us to bear burdens, but that just isn’t so.  God doesn’t want us weighed down with the cares of this world.  He wants you to have a care-free life! HEARING THE HOLY SPIRIT

Through the years many have told me they don’t know how to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit.  In the days of the Old Testament, only the King, Priest, or Prophet heard the Holy Spirit, as the Spirit of God came upon them, but the average person was not anointed to hear from God.  Only when the Holy Spirit decided to speak to someone were they able to hear Him.  But that changed on the Day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit fell upon those believers in the upper room after Christ Jesus arose from the dead.  From that day onto now, the Holy Spirit is available to those who are seeking God. THE QUICK AND THE DEAD

The world around us is changing every day, and not much remains the same.  You can easily relate to that by visiting your childhood neighborhood.  No matter where you lived, there have been changes, and in some cases, you may no longer even recognize what you used to call home.  People change, societies change, and what was good and upright yesterday may no longer be the standard today.  Now it seems “politically correct” is the new “normal”, and that changes with every whim of people.  But thank God, the Gospel of Jesus Christ never changes, and it’s so good to have a solid foundation on which to base your life.  Continue Reading »

CONTENDING FOR THE FAITH

Faith is the key ingredient in our relationship with God, and it is written in Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.  Continue Reading »

THE ULTIMATE DEBT CURE

We know all about the cost of things these days, don’t we?  Fuel prices are at nearly an all-time high, food prices are on the rise, housing and utility costs are rising daily.  People on a fixed income are hurt the most by rising costs, for their income doesn’t go up just because prices rise.  For some, just eating each day is a major challenge, and there are some that don’t get to.  The Lord Jesus said the poor would always be among us, and we could help them anytime we wish.  So the Lord decided to help the poorest of the poor, namely, mankind. GOD WATCHES OVER YOU

Have you noticed how fear seems to grip everyone these days?  If it isn’t about the economy, it’s about fuel prices, or what war is going on somewhere.  Fear is the devil’s biggest and most effective weapon, but it’s also one we can easily defeat.  How do we do that?  Glad you asked.

REJOICE !

What kind of witness for Christ Jesus is one who walks around with a long face all the time?  Yeah, I know, you might be saying “Being a Christian is a serious thing!”  Oh, is that right?  Does that mean you are supposed to be a dour old sourpuss?  Was Jesus?  I don’t think so.  Let me bring it down to a personal level, would YOU be drawn to serve God by hanging around someone who has a long face all the time, who never laughs or even smiles?  How about if they constantly complained about how bad things and other people are?  Would you want to receive THEIR God as your Lord and Savior?  Well, I wouldn’t, I’d run as far in the opposite direction as possible!  And it’s my belief that’s why so many “Christians” never win a single soul for Jesus.
