WILL YOU OBEY GOD?
Obedience is a big thing to God. Most people know that, but would still rather do their own thing. Heaven is God’s home, and everything there is subject unto His will and pleasure. The entire universe was created for God’s pleasure, and even the stars and planets obey His commandment to stay in their proper courses. And everything was wonderful in heaven until Lucifer decided he not only did not want to obey God anymore, but he wanted to de-throne God and take His place and rule heaven. Well, how did THAT work out for Lucifer? Not too well, and he was cast out of heaven because he left his former place of obedience and became evil.
How about YOU? Will YOU obey God? Everything God created was beautiful, orderly, and good. So, why is everything so messed up in the world today? Simply this: the world as we see it is not in obedience to God, and therefore is under the curse, and even the birds and other creatures are suffering for the disobedience of mankind. That doesn’t seem fair, but it’s the way it is. The world is what it is today because mankind has used his God-given freedom of choice to choose the wrong things, selfish things.
Homes and families are out of God’s ordained order because they don’t live according to God’s will. Poverty abounds, and people blame God for their poverty, when in reality it is completely the results of wrong stewardship and choices they have made. It was NEVER God’s choice for anyone to live in poverty. It is written in Proverbs 10:22, The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. Families are breaking up in record numbers because they refuse to love God and one another and submit to one another. Churches are splitting up because the people act like goats instead of sheep. Everyone wants to be king and rule over everyone else, but nobody wants to submit to the King of Kings. So everything is out of whack, and we can’t blame God for it, for we have made it so ourselves.
Most everyone wants to be blessed and have lots and lots of stuff, fame, and money, and live in health, but they would just as soon trample right over you to get what they want. What if God did that? Think about that for a moment. What if God was selfish like WE are? Yet our heavenly Father is nothing like we are, and thankfully so, or we would all be crispy critters, wouldn’t we? God is quick to forgive, merciful, longsuffering, patient, kind, and good. He wants us to live like it was in the Garden of Eden when Adam and Eve were first created, back before they chose to disobey God.
God could have chosen to put Adam and Eve in the middle of the desert, but because He is Good and wants the best for His children, He put them in the most beautiful place on earth, the Garden of Eden. Everything went wonderfully until they chose to disobey God, then the honeymoon was over. Have you ever wonder why God treated some people so severely for disobedience, even destroying entire cities? Have you ever considered the same thing could happen to YOU for disobeying God? That should give you pause to consider that Almighty God is in heaven and you are a mere speck on earth, and that He does as He pleases, and if you aren’t pleasing God, you may find yourself in undesirable circumstances from which you will not recover.
Oh, but God is love, right? Yes, that’s right, and just like when He cast Lucifer and a third of the heavenly host out of heaven because of their disobedience, it tells me that God is very protective of those who love Him and obey Him. Doesn’t it make sense to you to be on God’s love side instead of God’s judgment side? Indeed God gives you a choice whether to HEAR “Well done” or to BE “well done”, and He leaves it entirely up to us to decide which we will have. We cannot say it’s God’s will for anyone to be lost, for He sent His Son, Christ Jesus to pay the price for our redemption. So therefore, if anyone is lost, it is entirely their own choice. God takes no pleasure in the death of anyone, nor does He make anyone poor or sick or depressed or oppressed. Rather, God’s will is for your life to be “practice” for you joining Him in His Kingdom, to live in the blessing, healthy, having all your needs met, and living in constant fellowship with Him. There in God’s Kingdom there will be no more pain, suffering, discouragement, no more death or suffering. That’s how they live in HIS house. Is YOUR house like HIS house? If not, you’ve missed it somewhere.
Yes, there’s a devil out there whom Jesus described as the thief, who comes not but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. But the Lord Jesus came that we might have LIFE, and that we might have it MORE ABUNDANTLY. That’s God’s will. Does YOUR will line up with God’s will? Are you willing to bring yourself into alignment to God’s will, or do you still prefer to live the way things are here in Satan’s system? God has given you the power of choice, to be blessed, or, well, NOT blessed, it’s all up to you. If you aren’t willing to obey God, there is a cost you will pay. Why should you even WANT to obey God? The best reason I can think of is this: He really loves you and made all provision for you to live a happy and blessed life. But in order to have the blessing, you must be His and His alone, not with one foot in heaven and one foot in the world. He demands absolute loyalty and obedience, but in return, you have HIS absolute loyalty. I’d call that a wonderful deal.
How about it? Do you want to step out of sickness into health? Do you want peace in your life, your home, and family? Do you want your needs met? God has the solution all prepared for you. There is only one catch: Will YOU obey God? Will you make Him number ONE in your life? You are the only one who has the power to make that happen. I pray you choose very wisely, not just today, but for every day of your life, for it is not he or she who starts strong, but he or she who FINISHES strong. Set your goal to be an overcomer that enters the Kingdom of God. You’re worth it! How do I know that? Simple; the LORD didn’t sacrifice YOU so that HIS SON might live, but rather, He loves you so much He sacrificed HIS SON so that YOU might live! That means God has a great price invested in you. Listen: He is calling for you; Come and be My child. Will you obey God?
