There is a passage in Psalm 107:15-22 that I would like to share with you, as I believe God put it on my spirit to do so. “Oh that men would praise the LORD for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder. Fools, because of their transgression, and because of their iniquity, are afflicted. Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death. Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and He saveth them out of their distresses. He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. Oh, that men would praise the LORD for His goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! And let the sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His works with rejoicing.”

I especially like the part where it says “He sent His word and healed them.” It didn’t say, “He sent His word to heal them”, because if it said “to heal” it would mean it has not yet been accomplished, and it may or may not be accomplished. But rather, He said “and healed“, which means it has already been done! When was it done? Over 2000 years ago, when Jesus took stripes on His back for our healing, according to Isaiah 53:5, “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with His stripes we are healed.” 1 Peter 2:24 puts it like this; “Who His own selfe bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.”

And if we were healed and we are healed, that pretty much settles it, doesn’t it? Then why are people sick? Because of the law of sin and death. You see, when God created Adam, God created him to live forever. But when Adam sold out to the devil, and disobeyed God, the devil became the god, the legal owner, of this earth, and with it he brought sin and death. We have all inherited sin and death from our original father Adam. But our second Father, Jesus, paid the price for sin and death in his own body. In other words, Jesus made it possible for us to live in the state that God had originally intended Adam to live in, health, prosperity, peace, joy, and eternal life.

Psalm 103:2-3 is one of my favorite passages, it says,“Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits, who forgiveth all thine iniquities, who healeth all thy diseases.” And it means just what it says! Jesus paid the price for all of our sins, and all of our diseases. Does that mean we are all forgiven and healed? Yes, and no. Jesus made healing and salvation available for all. Will all be healed and saved? No. Why?? Because God gives each and every one of us a choice.

Healing cannot be separated from salvation according to Psalm 103:2-3. Healing includes spirit, soul, and body. But each person must make their own choice whether Jesus will be their Lord and Savior, or not. I made that choice for me, but I cannot make it for you, nor can I make it for anyone else. But I can tell you that healing and salvation is available right now by the blood of Jesus! Jesus loves us so much He laid down His life for us that we might live not only healthy in the here and now, but that we might live forever with Him!
I will tell you what Jesus said in His word…ONLY BELIEVE.
The devil wants us to live in fear. He wants us to look at our circumstances, by saying, You’re sick. You’re going to die, so you might as well accept it. But what does the word of God say? You can see what God said in what I wrote from the Bible. God said it, I believe it, and that settles it. Why? because I believe it?
No, but because God said it. God’s word does work, if we will use it and believe it…..how about you? will you believe? will you believe what God says about the situation, and not what the symptoms say?
So many people miss out on God’s healing because they are willing to exchange God’s word for what they see or feel or what the doctor said. I don’t say to deny the facts. Let me relate to you a story; Let’s say I’m riding with you in your car. All of a sudden, there’s a BANG, flap, flap, flap, flap! from the rear of your car. And I say, “Hey, you have a flat tire.” And you say,” No, praise God, I don’t have a flat tire. I won’t confess that, because it’s a bad confession. I don’t have a flat.”

The fact is, you have a flat tire. There’s no denying the fact. Some people think that denying the symptoms of sickness will make them go away, but it won’t. It may be a fact that you may be very sick right now. But the truth is, you are healed by the stripes of Jesus. I don’t tell you to deny the facts, but if you are in covenant with Jesus, you have a right and an obligation to deny sickness it’s right to be in your body.

I’ll go one step further and add this, if you are permitting sickness to be in your body, you are not letting the word of God have full reign in your life, because Jesus took stripes for your healing, and you are not taking advantage of all your covenant rights that Jesus gave you.
Let me show you something out of God’s word, Genesis 1:1-3. Right away, God shows us the difference between truth and fact, and He wants us to know the difference and that the truth always wins out. “In the beginning GOD created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of GOD moved upon the face of the waters. And GOD said, let there be light: and there was light.”

Here we see the fact; it was dark. Now, God could have agreed with the fact that it was dark, because it was. God could have said, “It’s dark out there! Can’t see a thing!” But He didn’t. God spoke His word that was completely contrary to the fact. Did God lie? No. Because all that God says is truth, and all God says comes to pass. God said literally “Light be” and it was light. So what happened here? The Truth changed the facts. This is why I said, the fact is, you may be sick. But the truth is, YOU ARE HEALED. So, let’s concentrate our efforts on the truth, not the facts.
How do we do that? By proclaiming the word of God over our body, day in, and day out, until it gets down in our spirit, and then, when it gets down in our spirit, it becomes manifest in our body. Plain and simple. How soon it happens depends on how intent you are on having God’s will and way ruling your life.

God is not a god of sickness. He doesn’t make us sick to teach us a lesson. However, I’ve seen God use what the devil puts on us to our good, and in my own case, had I not gone through cancer, I most likely would not be saved right now. I came to a place where I cried out to God, and He delivered me and healed me because He loves me.

I like to say it like this, The devil gives us lemons, and God uses them to make us a tall, cool glass of lemonade. What the devil means for our destruction, God turns to our good. Never be confused about this; God is not the one who makes us sick. God is the healer. The devil is not the one who gives us nice things. The devil is out to destroy us. As long as you can keep these two truths sorted out, the rest comes easy. So let me ask you, Who are you going to believe??
