It is written in James 4:7, Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Nowhere in that verse does it say that God will run the devil off for you, that is YOUR job. As we submit unto God, we are given the authority to stand against the attacks of satan, but it is up to US to do the resisting, not Him. Well, the devil keeps attacking, hoping to wear you down, which he has succeeded in doing to so many people. Now, if you are continually drawing close to God, His Word says He then draws close to you. But if He seems distant, then it’s because you have stopped seeking Him. At that point, what you really need is a renewal of your walk with Christ Jesus, and as that happens, the health issues will fall away.

The next verse says, Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Sickness is ALWAYS the result of sin, whether it be intentional or not. Jesus bore your sicknesses in His own body, so what are you doing with sickness when it does not belong to you? The LORD asked me that very question years ago, and told me “There will be no thieves in heaven.” I replied, Yes, I know that. He said, “What is a thief?” I replied, it is one who possesses something not belonging to them. He said, “What are you doing with sickness, then, when it does not belong to you? It makes you accomplice with the thief, having stolen goods.” So then, if you have sickness in your body, you have accepted that which does not belong to you, and you are in possession of that which does not belong to you, and that makes you just as guilty as the thief, in any court of law.

What to do? Refuse possession of it, resist it and demand it be gone from you, repent of having it, ask God’s forgiveness, and be restored whole. I can pray for you, but the Holy Spirit says to me, this is one you need to pray for yourself. In a nutshell, because you have laid your armor aside and gotten lazy in the Spirit, this is the result. God hasn’t abandoned you, but you have moved away from Him by allowing other things in your life to become more important than seeking Him. The closer you are to God, the farther sickness must stay from you. Just as with the law of physics, two things cannot occupy the same space at the same time. If God is in the temple, He keeps it free from sin and sickness. If God has left the temple, due to your inattention to Him, sin and sickness have an open door, and they don’t have to be invited twice.

Maybe that’s not what people want to hear, but it’s the truth. God is a jealous God, and He says so. With Him, it’s either all or nothing. There’s no walking the fence with Him, so you must decide whether God is number one, or if He isn’t. And if He isn’t number one, then He isn’t in your temple, as He won’t share it with the devil. You may tell me you aren’t serving the devil, but God says if you aren’t for Him, then you’re against Him. What you think or what I think matters not a bit. It’s God’s way, or the highway, plain and simple. Actually, He makes it quite clear and easy for us. There is no gray area with God, you’re either up or down, in or out, filled with the Holy Spirit, or you’re not. There is no halfway saved, or halfway filled with the Holy Spirit or halfway anything with Him, it’s all or nothing.

Unlike your car where you can pull the dipstick, and if you’re low on oil, you can add some, with God you are either FULL of the Holy Spirit, or you’re totally without Him. If you’re running on empty, there’s a cure, REPENT, get right with God, and put Him on the Throne where He belongs and KEEP HIM THERE! Otherwise, get used to being hammered continually by the devil, because that’s how it’s going to be. Yes, the devil hammers on God’s fully committed children, too, but there’s a difference: they have God’s armor to protect them, the rest don’t. Examine your life today, I’m not your judge, Jesus is. It’s not me you need to please, it’s Him.

If you find you need to make some adjustments, then do it now while you still can, because there’s a killer out there named Satan, who just may take you out while you’re trying to decide whether to serve God with all your heart, or put it off till later. We have no guarantee of “later”, but you do have “now”. God would suggest you use it wisely!
