Jesus told us in Matthew 5:14, “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.”
More and more we are pressing into the calling God has for each of us, and as we continue to do so, the light of the Gospel will become brighter and brighter, till it is impossible to ignore.  The lost and unsaved will be drawn to the Lord like a light draws bugs, if for no other reason, than people checking us out to see what makes us tick.

You know, we can talk Jesus all the time. But talk is cheap, as the saying goes. People want to SEE something.  People want something real. In our age of microwave, instant, imitation everything, there are still those seeking the real thing. They are the kind of people who still perk their coffee, cook their popcorn over the stove the old way, and use real potatoes in their mashed potatoes. They aren’t fooled by the “talking the walk” Christians.

You seldom find them in a church. They see how shallow and fake many so-called Christians are, and they don’t want anything to do with it all. Those are the people that are looking at us and what we are doing. Not just on Sunday at Church, but as we go about our daily jobs, how we act in a long line at the check out in the grocery store, or how we talk about our boss. Those are the people who will never listen to a word you say about Jesus, until they are convinced YOU are really living for Him. They may not tell you they’re looking, but they are. You may be the only Bible they read.

Maybe this week one of them will come up to you and say, “You don’t seem to be all worried about things like everyone else is. Why not?”  There’s your cue. “I’ve got inside information about what’s going on. I don’t have a care in the world, my future is secure, no matter what the rest of the world is going through, how about you? My best friend Jesus said for me to cast all my cares on Him. And He’s got room for all yours, too. How would YOU like to never have a care in the world?” Of course, you know the answer to that one.
You know, God doesn’t have bad days. Jesus doesn’t have bad days. Now, my Bible says in Romans 8:15-17, “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of Adoption,  whereby we cry, Abba, Father.  The Spirit itself beareth witness with our Spirit, that we are the children of God: and if children, then heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together.”  So, if we are children of God, joint-heirs with Christ Jesus, and we are, because the Bible says we are, then we shouldn’t have bad days either. We shouldn’t have scared days, worried days, fearful days.
But our days should be like Jesus’ days, full of peace, joy, power, victory, if we are truly in Him, like we say we are. And people should be able to see that reflection of Jesus in us and all over us. Now I’m not saying you won’t have the devil coming against you to put pressure on you. He came against Jesus. He will come against you, too, because of the Word of God in you. It goes with the territory.  But you don’t have to have a bad day because of it. No, you give the devil a bad day because of the Word in you. Did you know that you can live so filled with the Holy Spirit that the devil dreads seeing you get up in the morning?  Oh, NOOOOO! He’s up AGAIN!

Paul told Timothy, in 2 Timothy 1:6-7, “Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou STIR UP the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of POWER, and of LOVE, and of a SOUND MIND!”  When the unsaved see you living in this power, and in this peace, you won’t have to ask them twice if they would like to know Jesus. They will be wanting to know what it is you have.  You don’t have to try to win people to Jesus. Just turn on the light and let the light draw them out of the darkness. After all, it isn’t YOU they need, it’s JESUS!   If that light in you be Jesus, He will draw all men unto Himself.

Imagine yourself like a flashlight. The light bulb is powered by the batteries inside. No power in the batteries, no light.

No light, no Jesus.  Simple, huh??
