TO BE, OR NOT TO BE?
“To be, or NOT to be……” I remember that quote from high school, made famous by William Shakespeare in Hamlet. And every single day, with our words, WE decide if something is to be, or not. Do you want to be saved? SAY So. Do you want to be healed? SAY so! Do you want to stay broke the rest of your life? Keep saying, “I’m no broke, I can’t even pay attention.” Our words truly DO make or break us. And you’re saying, “I doubt that.”?
If you don’t think your words can change your present situation, consider telling your significant other (husband, wife, fiancée, boss, etc.), I think you’re the nicest person I’ve ever met. Now, alternately consider how they would act toward you if you had you told that same person that they are the ugliest scum you’ve ever come across. You see, words DO affect others, AND, they affect YOU.
And while you are entitled to your own opinion, the Bible says in Proverbs 18;21,
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
To me, it doesn’t matter what you or I think, our opinion is worth less than crabgrass seed. God is telling us in His Word that literally our lives depend upon how we use our words. And we WILL eat the fruit of them. That’s why I tell sick people to speak God’s healing scriptures over themselves. Did Jesus instruct the people He healed to do that? No, I can’t find that He did. Then why do I do it? It certainly isn’t to get them to badger God so much that He will be convinced to heal them. Because after Jesus went to the cross, God had already done everything He will ever do about our healing. It’s a FINISHED WORK!
The problem isn’t convincing God that Healing is a finished work. It’s to convince US that it’s a finished work! And the more you tell yourself something, the more likely you are to be convinced of it. An example of that would be prisoners of war who resist the enemy initially, but in time they are brainwashed to believe what the enemy has told them. Well, the opposite happens when we continually speak God’s Word over ourselves. All our lives, the enemy, that is, Satan, has convinced us we are pond scum, not worthy of God’s least graces, not worthy of being healed of our diseases, that our diseases are because we are bad to the bone, and we’re just getting what we deserve. Well, that’s what he continually told ME! And I’m finding that I’m not the only victim of the devil’s lies! Maybe YOU are one of them! God is trying to “brainwash” us to believe the TRUTH, instead of the lies we’ve all been listening to all along.
Why would you insist on staying sick, when the cure has been found? Anyone with half a brain would be quick to line up for the cure. And yet, it’s as if we WANT to stay sick, in spite of the Word of God that says in Psalm 103:2-3, which says, “Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits; who forgiveth all thine iniquities, who healeth all thy diseases.” There’s your cure, folks, no matter what the disease, no matter how severe it is, no matter how long you’ve been dealing with it. THE CURE! Not just doctoring and hiding and medicating the symptoms, mind you, but THE CURE!
If you continually speak the cure, your body has no choice but to respond, because that’s how we were created. If you speak depression, sadness, worry, sickness, and all that junk, sooner or later, you will BELIEVE in your heart that THAT is your condition. And it WILL be. Yeah, some of you will disagree with that statement, and that’s your right. If you want to stay sick, that’s YOUR decision. But GOD decided to cure your diseases, and that was HIS decision, but unless you’re in agreement with Him, you’ll never experience it. We can make all kinds of excuses why we cannot be healed, but that’s exactly all they are: EXCUSES.
I was in the Army, and there I was taught a very important thing: “The maximum effective range of an excuse is zero meters.” In other words, an excuse is WORTHLESS and UNACCEPTABLE! I remember reading in John 5:2-9 a story of a man with an excuse.
2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches. note
3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.
4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.
Notice if you will what Jesus asked the man in verse 6: Wilt thou be made whole? That question was a simple one that only needed a “yes” or “no”. What was Jesus looking for? “YES, LORD!” But no, the man had an excuse. Jesus wasn’t looking for an excuse from him, and He isn’t looking for an excuse from YOU, either. Fortunately for that man, Jesus didn’t just walk away when he heard the man’s excuse, but rather, Jesus had mercy and healed him. Well, if you read the rest of the story, Jesus found that man in the temple later, and told him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
Evidently, that wasn’t the first time that man had given God some lame excuse. Maybe you’ve done the same thing. All I know, is there is no excuse for not taking God at His Word. Psalm 107:20 says “He sent His Word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” It’s DONE! Take it or leave it! And if you are making excuses why you aren’t healed, you’re going to keep missing out on your healing. You cannot “OUT-WAIT” God. He is not subject to time, but YOU ARE! You can keep making excuses till hell freezes over for why you won’t turn your life over to God, but you’re only hurting yourself. God has nothing to lose by your excuses, but you have EVERYTHING to lose. Kind of harsh words here, but there’s someone out there that needs to “wake up and smell the coffee”. God paid the price for your healing IN FULL. Now TAKE it!
“To be, or NOT to be….” That’s entirely YOUR decision. I hope you make the right one!
