THE WORD HAS NO CHOICE
One morning this week I was awakened with a thought from the LORD, saying, “THE WORD HAS NO CHOICE BUT TO PERFORM THAT WHICH IT WAS SENT TO DO.” Well, I know it was the LORD, because the word perfectly agreed with Isaiah 55:8-11, which states:
Isa 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
Isa 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Isa 55:10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
Isa 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
You see, when the LORD created the universe, He spoke it into existence, and when His words went forth, the creation had no choice but to obey what He spoke. That’s because words have power, and we, being created in the image of God, must be very careful how we use OUR words, for they have power to change things. You can see in Genesis chapter one that it is written TEN TIMES, “And God said….”, and guess what? Each time it happened just like He said. In verse 31 it says “And God saw…” What did He see? He saw what He said, but you may say, Well, that’s GOD…but MY words don’t create anything… OR DO THEY?
Let’s say you are married, ok? And you tell your mate, “You are the most wonderful person I’ve ever met.” What have you created with those words? You have created a good feeling for your mate, and an atmosphere of love and joy. However, if you say to them, “You are the ugliest, most worthless person I’ve ever met”, what have you created? You have made that person upset, AND you will most likely be sleeping by yourself.
There was a saying when I was a kid, “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me”. Many hurtful words were said over me as a child, and let me tell you, I carried the hurt from them for many years, and many of you can also testify that words CAN hurt you. Maybe even now you are carrying hurt from bad words spoken to you or about you. Words can build up or tear down, they can encourage or discourage, they can make your life or break it. Never underestimate the power of words.
Some people say, “Nothing ever works out for me, everything goes bad, everything I have breaks, and I always run out of money before I run out of month.” And that’s how it happens. Why? Because the words they spoke have no choice but to do what they sent them to do. Just like throwing a rock, once it’s thrown you can’t call it back. Well, you can call it back, alright, but it won’t do any good, because it will continue on the course you sent it until it hits what you threw it at. And if it happens to be headed for your loved one’s head, you can holler, SORRY! But when the rock hits them, it still hurts just as much, even if you are sorry you threw it. Here is a good example: If you are bowling, you throw your ball and it’s on its way to the pins. You can lean this way or that way but it isn’t going to change the ball’s course, it will just keep going until it hits whatever is in its path, and you can’t call it back. Now if you threw correctly, you will knock all the pins down, but if you threw poorly, you won’t. You may be sorry you threw it that way, but that doesn’t change anything, it still went where you threw it. And you may say something and wish you could call those words back, but they are already on the way and they’re not subject to recall, and unfortunately, they will accomplish their mission even though.
I said all that to say this: choose your words CAREFULLY because they will accomplish what you created them to do, whether good or bad. If you talk trash over your life, sooner or later those words will make your life miserable. God didn’t create you to say, “Nothing ever goes right for me”, for He created you to imitate Him, think like Him, speak like Him, and live in His blessing. You can’t have what you speak against. Others say, “I speak good over my life but nothing ever works out.” You may say, “I’m only telling it like it is…”
A thermometer tells it like it is. If it’s 90 degrees in your home and you are miserable, you will go to the thermostat and set it, we’ll say 75 degrees, and your air conditioner will work to make it 75 degrees in your home, and it won’t stop until it is accomplished. Many of you are “thermometers” who only know how to “tell it like it is”: “I’m so broke I can’t even pay attention.” Or, “I know the Bible says I’m healed by the stripes of Jesus, but I’m NOT healed, I’m sick!” Your words have to make you sick, because that’s what you sent them to do. You can think I’m nuts or whatever, but when you speak in agreement with God’s Word, you get what God said. And when you speak against God said, you will have exactly what you said, period. The words have NO choice but to perform what they were sent to perform. If you say you’re sick, don’t worry, you will be sick because God wouldn’t want you to say something and be a liar.
Now when you speak, think what you are saying: do you REALLY want what you say to happen? “ OH, THAT WOULD JUST TICKLE ME TO DEATH…” So you really want to die? Then say what you really want to happen. God did, and does so. Think about it, Genesis 1:2-3 says,
Gen 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
Gen 1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
If God was like most of us, He would have said, IT SURE IS DARK OUT THERE, I can’t see a thing. And He would have been truthful and correct in saying so, for He would have been like a thermometer, telling it like it is. But instead, He called for LIGHT when there was no light. Did that make God a liar because it was dark? No. His Word changed the situation and it became light. And it won’t make you a liar by confessing God’s Word over yourself, even if right now the circumstances disagree with His Words. But by speaking God’s Word you will change the situation. Oh, it may not change instantly, but remember, the Word has no choice but to accomplish what it is sent to do, and that agrees with Isaiah 55:11.
You won’t catch ME speaking in disagreement with God’s Words. No, that’s stupid. Everything in my life isn’t as I want it yet, but even God had to speak what He wanted, so if He had to, then how can we think we can accomplish anything by doing differently? God’s Word says I’m healed by the stripes of Jesus, so, knowing God is not a liar, I agree with Him, Don’t do the “Politician dance” with your words; that is, two steps forward, one step sideways, and two steps back. When you speak healing over your body, or blessings over your finances, don’t damage what you said by saying, “Well, I thought I was healed, but I guess I’m not after all”. Speak what HE says about you and shut up. Don’t look at the circumstances and speak against your blessing.
I’m not interested in what anyone else says about me, or what they think, for that matter, the only thing that matters to me is God’s opinion. He says what He wants for me, and I bring my words in agreement with His. And if you are smart, you will get in God’s Word and see what He says about YOU! Yep, you’re in there too. You can have all the blessings He spoke over you, or you can disagree and NOT have blessings. It’s your choice. If you don’t want your blessings, I’d be glad to take them. I happen to enjoy living blessed and healthy, and I got that way by speaking God’s Words. It works for me, and it will work for you. Does that mean nothing bad ever happens to me? No, but I’d hate to think how it would be if I spoke like most people do. We learn as we go, and hopefully we ARE learning to do it God’s way…..
This life on earth is only a test. We have all been given tests. When we were in school, we were all given tests, but WE had to come up with the answers. Today, and every day, God gives us a test, and He give us the answer, the RIGHT answer, at that. In Deuteronomy 30:19 it says,
Deu 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
God tells us to CHOOSE LIFE, choose blessing, and we do that with our words, and our word lead to deeds, and our deeds lead to blessing or cursing. It all starts with our words. We all end up having what we say about ourselves sooner or later, so let’s make those words good, ok? Your words WILL accomplish what you send them to do, whether for good or bad, they have no choice in the matter. God created words to make things happen.
The Centurion in Luke 7 understood the power of words. There is authority in words to accomplish certain things. Look at this:
Luk 7:1 Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entered into Capernaum.
Luk 7:2 And a certain centurion’s servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die.
Luk 7:3 And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.
Luk 7:4 And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:
Luk 7:5 For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.
Luk 7:6 Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:
Luk 7:7 Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.
Luk 7:8 For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
Luk 7:9 When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
Luk 7:10 And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.
Notice how the Centurion recognized the authority of spoken words, he was spoken to by a superior and acted as he was told. The Centurion in turn spoke to those under him, and they also were moved to action by the authority of his words. The Centurion knew when Jesus spoke IT WAS DONE! His words had no choice but to accomplish what He sent them to do. Now… if you belong to Jesus, He said He and His Father would come and make their abode with you. So, if you have the Word in you, and you speak whatsoever, is the authority in you to accomplish what you speak? It must be, for God cannot lie. Choose what you say carefully, for what you say WILL affect your life, and most likely affect others around you as well. Your words are mighty, and God is testing you to see how you will use them, for if He is to be able to trust you with His power in His kingdom, you’d better be able to pass the test here with what authority you have been already given, and there is life or death in your words, so act accordingly and CHOOSE LIFE!

Great article!! I am creating my tomorrow today by my spoken words of today. My present reality is the sum total of my words!

Is it better to agree with God’s Word with your own Words, even if you feel nagging doubts on the inside? Or is that being just acting religious?
Jerry’s Reply: You speak God’s words not to convince God to move, but rather to erase your own doubts that God is good for His word.
