Have you ever given any thought to how powerful you really are? There is much more to you than the eye beholds. Within you is the power to make or break you, to overcome any obstacle, or fail, to be courageous or cowardly, to be creative and inventive, or to waste your life and do nothing. It’s all in the choices you make, and the choices you make are determined by what you think you can or cannot achieve.

Now I’ve personally never felt the need to climb a mountain, but there are some who have, and they did. Never mind the air might have been very thin, the temperature way below zero, and ice and snow made it treacherous, plus it was steep. But that didn’t stop them. There’s something in all of us that not only dreams of what we want to do, but spurs us on to accomplish it. And likewise, there’s the “half empty, half full glass” thing we have to deal with.

Some see a half empty glass as a detriment. Some see a half empty glass as an opportunity to fill it up. But it’s the power that works within in that determines what kind of life we will live. Some see problems as roadblocks. Some see them as challenges to make improvements. Two people can look at the same problem and come up with two different scenarios. One will say, it’s too hard. The other will say, I can do this. And do you know what? They’re BOTH right. It all depends on which power works within you.

It is written in Ephesians 3:14-21,
14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

Have you given thought to the fact that with Christ dwelling in you, that you are without limits? When we look in the mirror, are we seeing what’s on the outside, or are we MORE aware of what’s on the INSIDE? God wants you strengthened with might from HIM, not for you to be limited by your own limited power. He wants you to be so aware of HIS presence in you that your glass is no longer half full, but continuously overflowing like a fountain, better yet, a roaring river that is continually out of its banks.

That CHRIST may dwell in your heart by faith. What is faith? Hebrews 11:1 says, Now faith is the SUBSTANCE of things hoped for, the EVIDENCE of things not seen. Faith is looking in the mirror and seeing past yourself and seeing Christ, who is dwelling in you. Not the crucified Christ, but the RISEN Christ, the One who overcame. And now He is in YOU, and that makes you defeat proof.

His desire is that you understand the breadth, length, depth and height of His love for you. As I’ve said before, He isn’t going to drop you on your little pumpkin head. He has a glorious plan for your life. Not one of “it’s too hard”, “I can’t do it”. It’s one of “I CAN DO THIS!”, that you be FILLED with the fulness of God, and able to comprehend that He can and will do exceedingly, abundantly ABOVE all that you can ask, think, or imagine, THROUGH YOU, IF YOU WILL MAKE YOURSELF AVAILABLE TO HIM!

It is written in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” How many is “all things”? It says “I CAN”, which is causitive, not permissive. That means you are able to. The only thing standing in the way is YOU. Christ is not standing in your way, the Holy Spirit is not standing opposed, only your mind limits you.

Now we have to ask ourselves, “Would Christ have me do this, seeing that I am able to do all things?” Has He empowered us to just do any old thing we choose, or is there a higher calling? Remember, it is CHRIST which strengtheneth you, not you yourself. The mighty power of Christ inside you is for accomplishing the awesome works He has called and ordained for you to do. That ordination, or assignment varies with the person, but it’s all geared to forward the Kingdom of heaven on earth. You may be called to go preach the Gospel. Another may be called to cook to feed the hungry. Another may be called to teach children the ways of God. Another may be called to keep vehicles running for those who GO. The list is endless.

I’ve told this story before; when I was a little boy, yeah, I really WAS young once, I would ask my Dad, “What do you want me to do today?” I really wanted for my Dad to be pleased with me. But as the years went by, I found myself asking that question less often. It wasn’t that I suddenly woke up one day questioning why I wanted Dad’s will instead of my own, or that I no longer cared what my Dad wanted me to do, it just gradually happened. We all do it.

When we get born again, we find ourselves asking our heavenly Father “What do you want me to do?”. But as the years pass, maybe that gets away from us a little bit. Maybe it gets away from us altogether, because we don’t think we need anyone telling us what to do anymore.

And then what? The power that works in us is less and less the Holy Spirit of Christ, and more and more our own mind and will. Here we are, empowered to do ALL THINGS, and we’re wasting it on our own little kingdoms. Somewhere along the way, we stopped asking our heavenly Father, “What do you want me to do today?”

I’ve talked to many “christians” who are depressed, worried, sad, sick, bummed out, having no direction, no zeal, and no joy of life. Here we are in Christ Jesus, without limits, able to do supernatural things through the power that works in us, given a mouth to speak forth the Word of God in AUTHORITY to git ‘er done, with the power to build up or tear down strongholds, and we’re using our words for WHAT??

Go back and read Philippians 4:13 enough times till you get it down inside of you! Then put it to use! What God has empowered you to do, the devil cannot stop you from doing, even though he will huff and puff and try to blow your house down, all he will do is wear himself out. You are LIMITLESS! In Christ Jesus you have an unlimited power supply that never dims out. Stop looking in the mirror and seeing your fleshly shell. Inside that flesh lives the very power of God Almighty given to you to accomplish supernatural things for the kingdom of God.

God is not is recession. He isn’t saving His power for an emergency. His power cannot be worn out, exhausted or dimmed. He isn’t saying, ‘You think YOU have problems? I had to lay off a third of the angels, had to sell my Son to the devil, had to hock the Pearly Gates to pay the note on the Throne Room, oh woe is Me!” God is looking for people who are willing to take Him up on His Word. As far as the world is concerned, those people are few and far between. But maybe YOU are one of them.

Jesus said in John 14:12-18,
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

Think about it: you have the potential to live life without limits, living ABOVE the crap the devil dishes out, living ABOVE sickness, sadness, depression, worry and everything else the devil tries to put on you. Because CHRIST is in you, you’re undefeatable, for His power within you cannot be overcome. And because HE is unlimited, and He is in YOU, then YOU are unlimited. Kind of changes your outlook on things, doesn’t it? I thought so! Let the power that works within WORK!
