Well, today I’d like to use some verses from Proverbs 29.  I study Proverbs each day, it is fitting to do so, as the LORD gave us 31 Proverbs, one for each day of the month. Today’s Proverb is fitting for general wisdom AND for healing, and you know how I love to teach about healing, as it is my calling.  Let’s get started:

Pro 29:25  The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.
Pro 29:26  Many seek the ruler’s favour; but every man’s judgment cometh from the LORD.
Pro 29:27  An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.

Many strive to please people more than God.  And doing so brings a snare, big time.  Many go along with things that deep in their heart, they know is not quite right, but to “go along with the crowd”, they will compromise.  Going along with the crowd is just plain stupid.  If the crowd was walking toward a cliff, would you keep walking until you walked off the cliff to your destruction?  Well, if you’re not tuned in to God, most likely you would, because the crowd behind you was pushing you forward.  A wise and godly person would see the danger ahead and exit sideways instead of going over the cliff, but the majority? They will go over the cliff.  Let me tell you, the LORD does not delight in the death of the wicked.  He would much rather they repent and live.

I’m reminded of Proverb 22:3, A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished. Like it says in Proverbs 29:25, The fear of man bringeth a snare. The fear of not going along with what the ungodly tell us can bring a cost unto us that is way more than we want to pay, but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe. God offers His children His Holy Spirit to forewarn us of dangers and situations waiting ahead of us, and a wise person will heed His warning and be safe.  Ok, what does that have to do with healing?  Everything.  I have personally known people whom the LORD has healed, that have run back to the doctors, and the doctors, wanting to make more money, have talked them into treatments they did not need, and they ended up dying for their choices.  So, does that mean the LORD took away their healing?  No, it simply means God honored their choice what to do with their body, and they made the wrong choice.  Now, God gives you free will, meaning, He will not stop you from putting a gun to your head and blowing your brains out.  If He did, He would be violating man’s free will, wouldn’t He?  But if you’re listening to the LORD, He will never tell you to do that, no matter what you’re going through at the time.  Every trial and tribulation we will ever face in life is to make us come out stronger, not defeated.  He will not allow us to suffer more than we can bear, IF we are listening to Him.

Rather, let me say again, but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.   Putting your trust in the LORD is more than just saying, I trust the LORD.  It is a lifestyle that more times than not means swimming upstream while the majority floats downstream.  It is a lifestyle that pays attention to what the LORD says, to the downright disregard of what “everybody else” is doing.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m not against doctors, some of them are godly peope who will pray with their patients.  But the majority?  They are living large, raking in the money, both from big Pharmaceuticals, and from insurance, and it’s a money making machine to say the least.  And if they’re not selling you their services and goods, they make no money.  The world is after the dollar, the LORD is after your love and a relationship with you.  BIG DIFFERENCE!

Moving on to verse 26: Many seek the ruler’s favour; but every man’s judgment cometh from the LORD. You know, in the political arena, many are cozying up to whichever politician has floated up to the top of the slime, and ungodly politicians draw ungodly friends and helpers, and the godly people groan under their rulership.  Which ruler are YOU seeking the favor of?  As for me and my house, we are seeking the favor of the LORD.  One day, as it says in Revelation 11:15, And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. Unfortunately for now, we are still waiting for that to happen, but, again, WHICH RULER’S FAVOR ARE YOU SEEKING?  If you’re seeking the favor of the world, that makes you the enemy of God.  If you are seeking ONLY the LORD’S favor, you will hear His voice, which will steer you safely through this life.  Like it says, but every man’s judgment cometh from the LORD. In that day you stand before Him, and we ALL will, you will give account for what you put your trust in.

This life is but a flash in the pan when compared with eternity.  The choices we make here will determine where we spend eternity.  The majority just want to “go along with the crowd”, thinking if enough people decide something is ok that God has said is NOT, that God will “change His mind and go along with what they want”.  What does the Word say??
Pro 11:19  As righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death.
Pro 11:20  They that are of a froward heart are abomination to the LORD: but such as are upright in their way are his delight.
Pro 11:21  Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.
Again, in Proverbs
Pro 16:5  Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.
Now, isn’t that clear enough to us that we should seek only the LORD, and not our own ways?

Pro 29:27  An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked. That pretty much sums it up, doesn’t it?  You can’t have it both ways, pleasing the world, and pleasing God.  You must choose, and actually, whether you realize it or not, every choice you make in life is reflecting whose favor you are seeking.  Don’t just go through life floating downstream.  Any old dead fish can do that.  It takes a live one to swim upstream.  The fear of man will destroy you.  The fear of the LORD leads to everlasting life.  As I’ve said many times,  Wall Street invests, Jesus saves. Choose wisely, for where your heart is, there shall your treasure be also.
