Wisdom gives us sound advice when we are up against problems, and wisdom is worth more than all the gold in the world.  It is written in Proverbs 8:15-21  By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.  By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.  I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.  Riches and honor are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.  My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.  I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment: that I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.
So many times we think we need more money, but yet when we have more money, it’s like we have put it in a bag with holes.  Why is that?  Is it a bag problem?  No, it’s a wisdom problem.  Many have asked me to pray that more money would come to them.  But they’re asking for the wrong thing, because experience shows, even if they have more money to spend, they will soon be broke again.  So I pray for them to be given wisdom, for if you have wisdom, all your money and goods could be lost in a moment, yet the next moment you’re on your way to having money and goods again.  You see, riches can be gone in a moment in lost retirement funds, or job loss, or a stock market crash.  But wisdom will enable you to prosper in any situation.  Wisdom is not dependent upon the economy.  You can stick a wise man in the poorest region on earth, and before long, he is the richest man in the region.  He will have built himself a fine dwelling of whatever materials are available, when someone without wisdom is complaining about having no place to live.  Let’s face it, if you really want to get ahead, you need wisdom.
OK, having established that, where do we get wisdom?  Wal-Mart?  From your friends?  Can we buy it on the internet?  There are so many get rich schemes on the internet that people have tried, and yes, they have gained some wisdom by doing so, for they quickly learn that they have invested whatever money they had, and now that’s gone and they’re still not rich, so they gained some wisdom, albeit the hard way.  And no, an education does not necessarily make you wise.  Now, a good education is always helpful, but there are many educated fools in the world, as we all know. But there is an easier way, and wisdom can be had for FREE!
God wants to give you wisdom so you can be blessed and prospered in every situation.  His Word is full of wisdom, and if you have a Bible, then you have wisdom available to you.  If you don’t have one, that should be your top priority today to get your hands on one.  I carry my Bible on me at all times except when I’m bathing or sleeping.  When I’m faced with a situation that I don’t know what to do, I ask God to give me wisdom.  Many times the Holy Spirit will prompt me to read a certain passage of scripture, and the solution becomes perfectly clear.

While traveling in our motor home, sometimes things break out in the middle of nowhere.  Now, I’m an excellent mechanic, electrician, plumber, and all around fix-it person, and you have to be to drive a motor home for any length of time.  Once it broke down in the middle of New Mexico without a town nearby, but the Lord gave me wisdom how to get going again with what I had available, although the repair was pretty unconventional requiring a piece of scrap metal I found, a coat hanger and a piece of mesquite bush laying nearby.  Now, we from the Ozarks normally rely on duct tape and baling wire, but there wasn’t any there, so I had to think outside the box.
The point I’m trying to make is, wisdom is available to those who seek it.  Proverbs 8:10-12  says Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.  For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.  I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.  Now, having gold and silver and rubies is nice, but they would not have done me a bit of good out in the middle of nowhere with a broken vehicle.  But God’s wisdom got me out of a very bad situation.  And wisdom will get you out of whatever your bad situation is, for God knows the answer to your problem.  The biggest problem you face is being able to receive that solution from God.  How do you do that?
First off, forget your solution because obviously it hasn’t been working for you, or your problem would be gone.  Most people I know ask three or four people for advice and then end up going with what they wanted to do in the first place, which is the common practice, and the common problem.  Instead, go to God as a little child would go to their parents, and ask for wisdom, then BELIEVE and ACT on what He tells you to do.
I remember once praying to God about a persistent problem our motor home had, and that night I had a dream, and saw myself fixing that problem just like watching a movie.  I got up and did what I saw myself doing in the dream, and the problem was fixed.  We had spent a lot of money on that problem, and here all the time the Lord had the solution for me, but I had not yet asked Him for it.  I had been relying on my own expertise instead of His.  Maybe you’re relying on your own wisdom to fix your problems like I used to do, and maybe your wisdom has fixed them.   But if not, all the wisdom you could possibly need is available to you, right now, for the asking.
What did Jesus tell us before departing back to heaven? But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance.  Let’s pray:
Father God in heaven, thank You for watching over me in every situation, always willing to impart Your wisdom to me to correct whatever problem I am facing.  Lord, I worship You and acknowledge You as the source of all wisdom.  Father, as a little child I come asking for the wisdom to overcome the difficulties I’m facing right now, and I believe You will show me the solution, and I will use it.  Lord, help me to glorify You in my life, I ask in Jesus’ name.  Amen.
