REBUKE THE WICKED
These days there are many who don’t seem to know the difference between right and wrong, and if they DO know, they aren’t speaking up for right. It is written in Proverbs 24:24-25,
24 He that saith unto the wicked, Thou art righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him:
25 But to them that rebuke him shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon them.
All the time I hear people saying, “Don’t judge others”, but that isn’t what the Bible says. There are literally dozens of places the Bible tells us to judge righteously. We ARE to rebuke those who are wicked, that is, unless we are desiring to partake in wickedness with them. So many are afraid of speaking up against evil, because they want to be “politically correct”. Me? I’d rather be “God correct”, and if the world hates me for it, well, so be it. I think enough of my soul to be in alignment with God, instead of being in alignment with man.
It is written in Proverbs 14:12, and also 16:25, “There is a way that seemeth right to a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” What I’m trying to say is, if everyone else is jumping off a cliff, are YOU going to also, to be “politically correct” with everyone else? We went through stuff under the last President where we were told we had to allow men in the ladies’ restrooms, among other abominations. Everyone knows that isn’t right, and a lot of people protested against it, but not nearly enough did. It was like, “Oh, well…my voice doesn’t matter that much….” Well, yes it does. While we’re in Proverbs, it also says in 24:7-12,
7 Wisdom is too high for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate.
8 He that deviseth to do evil shall be called a mischievous person.
9 The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.
10 If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.
11 If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain;
12 If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?
God is looking at your heart today, my friends. In your heart of hearts, you KNOW what is right, and what is wrong. God will render to each of us according to our works. He will not tolerate our excuse that “Everyone ELSE is doing it.” If everyone else is going ten miles per hour over the speed limit, does that make it RIGHT? If everyone else calls right what God has said is WRONG, are YOU going to stand up for what HE says is right, or are you going to fold and go along with the wicked? As it is written up there in verse 10, IF THOU FAINT IN THE DAY OF ADVERSITY, THY STRENGTH IS SMALL!
Is it always easy to speak up against evil? No, but as men and women of God, we MUST, that is, if we want to be found in Christ Jesus when He returns for His people. You DO want to be found to be HIS when He comes, don’t you? Then quit letting the devil intimidate you! 1 Corinthians 6:3 says, KNOW YE NOT THAT WE SHALL JUDGE ANGELS? HOW MUCH MORE THINGS THAT PERTAIN TO THIS LIFE?
As we hurtle through time, which seems to be speeding up all the time, there is no time to waste: we must stand against evil, and stand FIRMLY in agreement with the words of our LORD. Otherwise, when we stand before Him, we will hear the words nobody wants to hear. It is written in Luke 13:23-28,
23 Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,
24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:
26 Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.
27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.
28 There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.
There are many who “think” they are saved because they go to some church, but when it comes to standing firm against wickedness, use the excuse, “We aren’t supposed to judge people.” They use that excuse so as to avoid confrontation with wickedness. They THINK they’re saved and safe. But when they stand before the LORD in that day, they’ll find out their passive attitude toward wickedness got them cast out of the Kingdom of God. It’s a frightening thought, isn’t it? But it needn’t apply to YOU!
Stand your ground against evil, and rebuke the wicked. Perhaps the wicked might heed your voice and repent and be saved. Some will, and some will not. But if YOU don’t stand up and rebuke evil, and be a witness for the Gospel of Christ Jesus, how will they ever turn from their wicked ways and be saved? You SURELY don’t think the devil will tell people to repent, do you?
You know what you need to do. Just do it! And when you stand before Christ Jesus, you’ll be so glad you did!
