Everyone wants to live a healthy life and nobody likes being sick.  Did you know your words affect your quality of life and health?  It is written in Proverbs 4:20-22:
My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
Some people think it doesn’t matter what you think or what you say, your health is what it’s going to be.  Have you ever been around people who just seem to stay sick all the time?  Listen to their speech a while, and you’ll soon see why.  Everything that comes out of their mouth is doom and gloom.  If the flu is going around, they will say, “I’ll have it, mark my words”.  And they will, because believe it or not, it’s their words that prepare them to receive it.
It’s your words, not mine, that determine the course of your life.  You can live healthy, or you can live sick and defeated, it’s really your choice. You can speak like the rest of the world speaks, or you can speak what the Word of God says over your life.  Whichever you speak, rest assured, will eventually get down inside your heart.  The Lord Jesus said in Matthew 12:33-37:
Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.
O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
If you say something long enough eventually you will believe it whether it is the truth or not.  There are entire families who are convinced they are destined to live in sickness and poverty, and there isn’t much you can do to talk them out of it.  There are people who have gone to certain churches for all their lives, who believe it is God’s will for them to be sick and poor.  If you show them in the Bible that Jesus healed the sick, they’ll tell you, Our church teaches holiness comes by sickness and poverty, Grandma believed that way, Mama believed that way, and so do I.  And I’m teaching my kids that way.  I don’t care what the Bible says.
Sadly, entire generations have been taught to rob themselves of health and blessing, because they haven’t been taught to speak God’s Word over themselves.
Yes, you read that right; they’ve been taught to rob themselves!  Proverbs tell us that the Word of God is health to all our flesh.  But it doesn’t become health to all our flesh unless we attend to His Word.  That means to pay heed to them and speak them.  In Matthew the Lord Jesus said if a tree is corrupt, its fruit would be corrupt, and if a tree is good, the fruit will also be good. He said out of our heart, that is, what we believe, we will speak.  Jesus said in Mark 11:23, For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
You know, that can work for you or against you.  If you believe your destiny is to be sick and poor, you will say so.  And you will be so.  Does saying you are rich, make you rich when you are really poor?  No, but listen, if you have a poverty mentality, you will always be poor.  If you won a million dollars, you’d be broke again in a couple months, because you think poor.  If you think sickness, you’ll never be able to hold onto good health.  It is written in Joel 3:10  Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.  Why?  because if you think you are strong, you will be able to do things you couldn’t do being weak.  If you sit under teaching that teaches what Jesus taught, you won’t be taught you must be sick, tired, and broke.  Jesus didn’t tell people they must be broke and sick to be holy!  In fact, He healed the sick and taught people how to be blessed and prospered!  Jesus said we would give account for our words spoken.  Those words would either justify us, or condemn us.  Those words will also determine your lot in this life, whether you will be sick or healthy, poor or blessed.
If a person like me, who speaks God’s Word continually, is attacked by sickness, they will recover very quickly, because they know sickness has been paid for in full by Christ Jesus, and sickness doesn’t have a right to be in them.  If they lose every possession they have, they will soon have abundance again, because they know God said it’s just their destiny to be blessed.  A person with a blessing mentality can be knocked down time and time again, and yet you can’t keep them down, because out of the abundance of their heart, their mouth speaks.  And their words line up with God’s Words, and produce blessing and health in all their flesh. No matter what happens, they’re always on top.  If the world is falling all around them, they will stand, regardless.  Do you remember “WEEBLES”? they are a child’s toy that is painted up like a person, and they are somewhat egg shaped, and heavy on the bottom.  You can knock them down, and they will pop right back up.  They had a saying: “Weebles wobble, but they don’t fall down.”  That is an illustration of what the blessing of God does for us.  The devil may come against us, but we always come up on top again.
What you think you are in your heart will come out of your mouth.  All I have to do is listen to someone for a few minutes, and I’ll know if they are spending time in the Word of God or not.  And if they are not, plain and simple, they are robbing themselves of God’s best.  There is just no way around it.  Garbage in:garbage out; God’s Word in, God’s Word out.  You WILL have what you say eventually.  And what you say, you will eventually have. That’s why you must attend diligently to what goes in your ears, for that is what will go into your heart.  That will shape your life.
When you hang around people who talk trash, you will start thinking like them. Soon you will see you’re in the same kind of messes they are in.  But if you attend to God’s Word, if you will give heed to it, and keep your heart in agreement with His Word, it will show up in your speech.  It’s only a matter of time until you are living a blessed life, full of health and confidence and abundance.  No, God doesn’t want you poor and sick and timid and beat down.  That’s trash that comes from religious people who don’t study God’s Word.  Don’t listen to them, unless you want to be like them.
If you want to be “healthy, wealthy, and wise”, give diligence to study your Bible daily.  Let its words of wisdom fill your heart.  Speak God’s Word daily over your life.  You may not see the difference tomorrow, but stay with it like I have, and it will bless you with health and plenty.  Don’t let unbelievers get you speaking their trash.  If you want the blessing of God, you’ll have to contend for it daily, for the world around you is negative and ungodly.  In closing, Proverbs 18:21-22 says: A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.  Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
You WILL have what you say, so choose your words very carefully!  If you’re going to eat your words, make sure they are sweet and full of life!
