HOW DO YOU SEE IT?
God says we need to have a vision for our life, and where there is no vision, the people perish. Well, I have a vision; and that is that everyone I minister healing to is healed. Are all of them healed? No, because they have no vision to see themselves healed. When the Lord Jesus walked through villages teaching the multitudes, He healed the sick, but yet in his own village, He could do no mighty work there. Let’s read about it and why it was that way.
Mar 6:1 And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him.
Mar 6:2 And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?
Mar 6:3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.
Mar 6:4 But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.
Mar 6:5 And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.
Mar 6:6 And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.
You see, those in unbelief didn’t see Jesus as the Son of God, they saw Him only as one of their own villagers, and therefore couldn’t see themselves healed by Him because he was only one of their own neighbors. I find myself having this same problem, in that years ago my own mother-in-law died of pancreatic cancer. I told her she could be healed but she said you can’t heal me, you’re only my son-in-law. Yet I prayed for one of her neighbors just down the block who also had pancreatic cancer, and she is still alive today. The difference? The neighbor saw herself healed when I prayed for her. And my mother-in-law couldn’t. But I’m not the healer anyway, the Word is.
When I first saw the promise of healing in the Word, I immediately saw myself healed. I mean, if God was offering, and I could have it if I believed, then I was accepting, just as simple as that. But some people just can’t see themselves healed, it just isn’t in them to have a different view of themselves other than what they are experiencing in their flesh.
And vision isn’t just about healing. You eventually will have what you say if you believe what you say. When I first got out of the Army, poverty was my best friend. I grew up so poor I couldn’t pay attention. In poverty was how I saw me living my life, but when I got revelation of God’s Word, my vision changed. I saw myself as having the POTENTIAL to be blessed, healthy, and full of life. Notice I said POTENTIAL. God made it possible, but I had to believe. And the same goes for YOU. What do YOU see for yourself? Do you see yourself staying sick because you’ve been sick for a long time? Do you see yourself stuck in a dead-end low paying job because that’s just the way things are these days? Or, do you see yourself as God says you can be?
God won’t make you rich. He won’t drop a safe full of thousand dollar bills through your roof, nor will He print up a winning lottery ticket and put it in your wallet. There is a part for YOU to do. Those who see themselves poor will always be poor, even if they win the lottery, in a couple years they will be broke again because of how they see themselves. You can give a poor person a business to run, and if they can’t see themselves successful, it will go broke. You can pray for the sick, and if they can’t see themselves well, even if they get well for a little while, they will lose their healing because of how they see themselves. For lack of vision, the people perish.
My whole life changed when my vision changed. If you spend enough time in the Word of God, your vision WILL change, guaranteed. Many are happy to let me “spoon-feed” them with God’s Word, but that’s as far as it will go. I’m a “miner for nuggets” in the Word of God, and I find a bunch of them that have made my life rich, and I give lots of them to others. Yet, even when I bring them to the mine (the Word of God), they cannot be bothered to grab a pickaxe and shovel and carry out their own nuggets. Therefore, their vision for themselves never changes, they stay sick, they stay poor, and yet always “wish things were better”. But they won’t be.
My heart’s desire is that when I’m gone, I will have left behind a legacy of helping people see their potential riches hidden in God’s Word, and grab hold of it and live it to the fullest. When I pray, I see it done THE FIRST TIME I PRAY. I see no reason to keep asking God over and over again for the same thing, when He said “YES” the first time I prayed. There is a parable the Lord Jesus spoke about the unjust judge, let’s read it:
Luk 18:1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
Luk 18:2 Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:
Luk 18:3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.
Luk 18:4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;
Luk 18:5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.
Luk 18:6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.
Luk 18:7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
Luk 18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
I know people who pray over and over and over, and never see it done, and the reason for that is right there in plain sight in verse 18. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? The Lord Jesus said in Mark 11:24, Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. Someone has taught them that if they pester the LORD long enough, He will grant their request, but that is why they never receive their healing, EVER! You must have VISION to see it done the first time you ask! Lacking that, you will never get your prayers answered. You’re just wasting your breath.
In Luke 18:8, Jesus is looking for FAITH. He isn’t looking for how much money you give the church, or how religious you are. Faith is the currency of heaven, and if you want anything from heaven, you must pay with faith. Heaven doesn’t take credit cards, but your church may because they want your money. But God doesn’t need your money, don’t you see that? Rather, YOU need what HE has to offer you, but if you don’t believe, you don’t get it. And if you have no vision to see yourself with it, you’ll never have it.
I’m going to use an example from my own life. Growing up poor was no fun. But God changed my vision. One day after breaking out of my poverty mentality, I saw a Mercedes going down the road and liked it. I said, One of these days I’ll have one of those. I saw myself driving a Mercedes and it got down inside of me. I got inside one and looked out the windshield, noticing the star on the hood and saw myself going down the road behind the star. It wasn’t long before I owned one, and then another, then another. We have had six Mercedes through the years, and in fact have always had at least one since we got the first one, and most of the times we’ve had two or three and have even given one away. Why? VISION! Now, not everyone is going to have a Mercedes, and having them is not the point I’m trying to make here.
The point is, if you can’t see yourself there, you will never arrive there. If you can’t see yourself healthy and well and alive, you’ll stay sick and tired and depressed. GOD DOESN’T WANT YOU SICK AND BROKE! God says if you love Him, obey His commandments. And He gave them to us so that we could live a blessed and joyful life. And He gave us instructions how to live a blessed life, but He won’t make you follow those instructions, for that is a matter of your own choice. And one of the finest instructions God has ever let us in on was Mark 11:22-24, for it has the potential to change your whole world.
Mar 11:22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
Mar 11:23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Mar 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
What do you say? How do you see it? Are you ready to change your life, or are you going to keep begging God over and over and ever stay the same? Change your vision, and you will change your life. Get a vision of how God wants life to be for you, then make God’s vision YOUR vision. Then, when someone asks how things are for you, will be able to show them you are blessed, healthy, and lack no good thing! God is GOOD and His mercy endures forever. Anyone who earnestly seeks God will find Him, and with Him are His blessings. Someone is going to have them, it might as well be YOU, right?
