Today I’d like to talk about the impossibility of breaking God’s Word. Years ago I wrote an article called “When God breaks His promises”, and I remember receiving some replies back from some that said they took God at His Word, but He didn’t keep His promises. Now, it’s pretty hard to offend me, but when someone says God breaks His promises, they’re getting on the wrong side of me. I feel led of the Holy Spirit to address that subject again, so here we go….
When you look at any promise in God’s Word, there is always a condition attached, like, “You do this, and I’ll do that”. Every promise has its conditions that must be met. For God to deliver you from anything, YOU must obey the conditions, even if it’s only “BELIEVE”. Jesus was a stickler for the Word, and sometimes said “It is written….”. It is VERY important to know what is “written”, because if you don’t know what is written, you don’t have anything to make your case to God with. And by the way, sometimes the one you’re making your case with is not God, but the devil or one of his demons.

Using the Word of God sometimes requires us to act like a lawyer making a case in court. In fact, “it is written” in Isaiah 43:26, “Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.”

Right off the bat, I really like that verse, because God is saying, “Remind me what my Word says, let’s discuss it, make your case, because I WANT YOU TO BE JUSTIFIED!” Now, that’s the “Jerry Translation” of that verse, but it’s correct in what it says.

Did you know God wants YOU to be justified in what you’re asking of Him? Most people bawl and beg and plead telling God how unworthy and unjustified they are to ask ANYTHING of Him. But lawyers are NEVER like that. They are BOLD as a lion, never backing down for a moment, because if they’re a good lawyer, they’ve done their research. And YOU? Have you done your research of God’s Word to be able to plead your case in the Court of Heaven? I have, and I’ve PREVAILED, because I did my research.

I’d like to break down Isaiah 43:26 a little for your benefit: it starts out with God saying, “PUT ME IN REMEMBRANCE”. WHY? Is God so old that He can’t remember what He said way back then? No! But if YOU don’t know what He said, you cannot remind Him of what He said. Like I said, DO YOUR RESEARCH! “LET US PLEAD TOGETHER:” That means present your argument, make your case. God talks, you listen, then you talk and God listens. Pretty simple so far. But here’s where it gets good: “DECLARE THOU, THAT THOU MAYEST BE JUSTIFIED.”

Let me ask you something; how is the best way to be justified in the eyes of God? Actually, it’s pretty simple: BE IN AGREEMENT WITH GOD! He is God, so automatically He is justified in whatsoever He says or does. Therefore, if YOU are in agreement with what God says and does, then YOU are justified! Hello? Are you with me? Yes, God actually wants you to be justified. He isn’t some hard-hearted God out there who wants nothing more than to lord it over you how wonderful He is, and how you are nothing but a worthless piece of dust. No, He has sent forth His Word for OUR benefit, and He wants us to enjoy the full benefit of it, nothing lacking!

It is written in Hebrews 11:6, But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

What is faith, other than being fully convinced what God says in His Word is completely true? You cannot halfway believe unto salvation. You either believe unto salvation, or you remain unsaved. You cannot halfway believe ANY of the Word of God and receive the benefits thereof. That unshakable confidence in the Word of God will get you the results every time, though. That’s not to say the devil won’t oppose you, and try to convince you that God’s Word doesn’t always work, because he does, and he will. The devil KNOWS, and rightly, that if he can cast doubt on the evidence you presented in your making your case before God from His Word, he can get your case thrown out of the Court of Heaven. Do you understand that?

If you’re needing healing, and you’re making your case before the Throne of God, He will expect you, as a lawyer, to be on your game 100%. That means you’d better have the promises, the “evidence” right there to present to the Judge, if you’re going to successfully plead your case. Otherwise, the prosecuting attorney; namely the devil, will chew you up and spit you out. Well, the Judge wants YOU to win, so He’s not only presenting you the evidence you need from His Word to win your case, He is guaranteeing His Word, that is the “evidence” is fail proof!

But like I said, there are conditions to every promise. Take Mark 11:22-24 for example:
22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

What “condition” do you see in those verses? Just one word: BELIEVE! That means if you don’t believe, the promise doesn’t apply to you. Now you can speak the promises all day long, but if you don’t BELIEVE, it won’t work. You can get mad at God all day long because you didn’t get your healing, and even say “the Word doesn’t always work for everyone”, but God will throw you out of heaven’s court and that’s the end of your case, because you didn’t meet the requirements to plead your case before Him. He only accepts truth in His court!

HOWEVER, if you BELIEVE GOD’S WORD, then you’re in agreement with God’s Word, and guess what? That makes you JUSTIFIED before God, and no matter what contrary evidence the devil tries to accuse you with, whether it be pain or symptoms or a bad doctor’s report, the Judge, that is GOD, always agrees with His own Word, and that means YOU WON YOUR CASE! Now I don’t know about you, but I like winning my case! I’m so thankful the Court of Heaven is stacked against the lies of the devil. God always sides with those who are in agreement with Him. Now, this isn’t just about healing, it’s about ANYTHING you may need from the LORD.

As always, there are those out there who refuse to follow directions, then they get spouting off at the mouth that God doesn’t always keep His promises. But the promises are for those who meet the conditions, and the conditions are plain and simple: BELIEVE ONLY! That means, there’s no room for anything other than full confidence. No room for doubt; throw it OUT! If you believe, you’ll act upon the Word, and you’ll receive the promises.

You know, if God’s people were as bold about taking God at His Word as the devil is about trying to convince them that God’s promises don’t apply to everyone, you’d see EVERYONE walking in all the goodness of God. Know this: the devil is a very powerful prosecuting attorney in heaven’s Court. If you don’t prepare your case carefully, and are unable to argue your case, you’re going to lose, plain and simple. That means the devil wins.

Lots of people through the years have begged and pleaded to God for this or that, and spent their years in defeat and go to their graves never having received the promises. Oh, they keep “hoping”, “asking”, “seeking”, “knocking” till their knuckles are bloody, but to no avail. The only thing that wins cases in heaven is having an ironclad case to plead, and the only ironclad thing there is in all the universe is GOD’S WORD! It cannot be broken, it is fail proof, and the devil can in no way prevail against it.

When the prosecuting attorney, the devil condemns you, as the lawyer of your own case, your reply must be right from God’s Word…”IT IS WRITTEN….” In that moment you will see the Judge smile. You REALLY have His attention now, and He’s listening. He knows you’ve done your homework. He’s heard your petition, and as His child, fully justified, you’ve just won your case!
So before you pray next time, remember Isaiah 43:26, God put it in the Bible for a good reason. Do what it says. That’s the way to win God’s favor and walk in His blessings! God wants YOU to be justified!
