Today I will teach about healing again, it’s my job. The Body of Christ seems to be suffering from an inferiority complex.  For the most part, believers have forgotten what the Lord Jesus taught His disciples.  And most importantly, they have forgotten that THEY are the modern-day disciples of Christ Jesus of Nazareth, meaning the world looks at them and expects them to deliver the same thing that the original disciples were empowered to do.  Assuming you are a believer and follower of Christ Jesus, can you look in the mirror and see yourself as taking the place of one of the original disciples?  Yes, I know the Lord Jesus was here over two thousand years ago, and you weren’t even born yet.  But the Bible says in Hebrews 13:8, Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and for ever. That means what He taught His disciples then applies today.

Think about it, can you see yourself as a disciple of Christ Jesus of Nazareth?  Then you have been empowered to do the same things the original twelve were empowered to do.  Oh, you say that was only given to the original disciples? Show me chapter and verse to support that!  You can’t?  Well, that’s because it isn’t there.  Sorry to burst your bubble.  YOU, as a present day believer in Christ Jesus have the same power, the same authority that they had.  You will notice His words in red, in Matthew 10:7-8:
Mat 10:7  And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Mat 10:8  Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

Now the Lord Jesus didn’t stutter when He said that, He said what He meant, and meant what He said.  YOU, as a present-day disciple have an assignment to carry out that command.  He said in John 14:14-14:
Joh 14:12  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Joh 14:13  And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
Joh 14:14  If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

Now go back and read those verses again and again until they are part of your identity, until the devil can no longer pry them out of your being.  YOU read that right, GREATER WORKS than these shall you do, WHATSOEVER you ask in His name, that He will do.  And He said it again for emphasis, which means PAY ATTENTION!!!! If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. Which means??

If the LORD puts a sick person in front of you, then YOU are authorized, empowered, actually ASSIGNED to heal them.  Notice I didn’t say PRAY for them.  You’re not an authorized agent of Christ Jesus begging the Father to heal someone.  You are His designated agent to HEAL the sick.  The Lord Jesus never taught His disciples to put on your beggar clothes, fall on your face, and beg God to heal the sick.  He never taught His disciples to pray, LORD, IF IT’S YOUR WILL, HEAL THIS PERSON.  Again, I’m going to stomp all over your “religion” until I get you to pay attention to what the Lord Jesus taught His disciples to do.  “Religion” has stripped most Christians of their power and authority.  You will NEVER have success as a disciple of Christ Jesus until you do what HE said to do.  It’s like you going to the store and buying a gym set to put in your back yard for your kids to play on.  It comes with instructions.  You say, “Oh, I don’t need the instructions, I can put it together just fine without them.” Well, maybe so, but you WON’T accomplish anything for God unless you read the instructions and follow them.  You might say, “Granny always did it this way, and our church has always done it this way, and that’s good enough for me.”

Well I don’t care how you’ve always done it.  If what you’re doing doesn’t line up directly with the words of Christ Jesus, then you aren’t doing it right, and you won’t get the results He said you would get.  If the sick ones you’re ministering to aren’t getting healed, then you’re not following the Word of God, and you are actually fighting against God by being disobedient.  I’m trying to help you here, if you are listening.  If you will look at your results compared to what Jesus taught His disciples, and if what you’re doing isn’t getting people healed, then you need to STOP that and do what JESUS said to do.  I’ve been around a lot of praying folks in the past twenty three years I’ve been ministering for the Lord Jesus.  And He said we should pray without ceasing.  But He said we should HEAL the sick.  Do you happen to see the difference?

I got a text message from a pastor friend the other night whose infant niece was in the hospital near death.  I told her,”I will go and heal her.” And I immediately left to go to the other side of the state to lay hands on her.  Now before you get your hackles up, understand something: I know whom I work for, and I know the authority I have been given by Him, and I use it freely, because again, He said in Matthew 10:8, Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

Never once have I begged the LORD to heal someone. Never once have I doubted my authority.  I’m authorized and sent to do an errand of mercy from the LORD.  Have all been healed?  Unfortunately, no.  Some don’t believe: maybe they don’t believe I’m authorized, or they don’t believe in healing, or they may not believe it’s God’s will to heal them.  And so they miss out on their healing.  But it doesn’t have to be that way.  But let me tell you, people’s “religion” often gets in the way.  And they get mad when I tell them so.  Jesus had that same problem two thousand years ago in His own village. In fact, it says in Mark 6:1-5,

Mar 6:1  And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him.
Mar 6:2  And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?
Mar 6:3  Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.
Mar 6:4  But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.
Mar 6:5  And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.
Mar 6:6  And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.

Pay attention here, I want you to get this: It wasn’t an issue if it was God’s will to heal them.  The issue was THEIR UNBELIEF!  It says He COULD NOT do any mighty work there, not that He WOULD NOT!  He WANTED TO.  But their unbelief shut Him down. Imagine that: the very Son of God Almighty, shut down on earth because of something mere PEOPLE did. So the next time someone sick is in front of you, one of two things will happen: either you will HEAL them, or they will stay sick.

If you feel they are in unbelief for whatever reason, show them what God’s Word says about healing. Either they will believe or they won’t.  Believers get healed.  But understand this too, sometimes they get healed as a result of YOUR faith, like this little infant I laid hands on.  She was too young to have any knowledge of faith yet.  You must be bold and not be moved by what you see. Go BIG, be BOLD, for you have been given a mandate from God himself.  He didn’t empower you to fail, but you’ll never succeed unless you step out of your little comfort zone. So what if it’s embarrassing to you?  Get yourself out of the picture; it isn’t YOU healing anyone, it’s the power of the Holy Spirit working THROUGH you.  You are merely the agent through which God has authorized the dispensing of His mercy.  But WOW!  The things He will do through you if you let Him!

So, if you’re a true disciple of Christ Jesus, then you need to get out there and do your job.

And if you’re not His disciple yet?  Today is your day to become a present-day disciple of Christ Jesus of Nazareth!  And go use that authority NOW.  You don’t have to be a disciple for years and years and go through courses of study at some church.  The LORD healed my first dying person less than an hour after I received Christ Jesus as my Lord and Savior.  You don’t “earn” the power and the authority from the LORD.  You “surrender” to Him, and go do His work, and He empowers you AS YOU GO.  When?  As soon as you believe!  In some cases that’s in five minutes like it was with me. But others? They’re stubborn, and may not end up being used by God for fifty years, or ever.  But ultimately, it’s up to YOU.  God did His part, and He’s waiting now for you to do YOUR part!

Go big, be BOLD!  God is with you!
