DO YOU REALLY TRUST GOD?
Do you really trust God? That may sound like a silly question to you, but give it careful consideration. Many SAY they trust God, but when the chips are down, after having prayed, they still take it upon themselves to find the solution for their problem. Now, there’s nothing wrong with using the skills and talents the LORD gave us to come up with solutions to problems. That’s why God gave us a brain in the first place. But what I’m talking about is another thing altogether. What about when we ask God for a solution to a problem? Are we still holding onto that problem and trying to solve it ourselves? Or have we surrendered the problem to God, trusting that HE not only knows the solution, but will also take care of the matter?
I don’t know about you, but the LORD has never awakened me in the morning to seek my expertise about running the universe. And just knowing that is a great source of peace for me, for I know God created everything by the Word of His power, with absolutely no help from mankind whatsoever. In fact, if not for God, we wouldn’t even exist. No, sorry, but I don’t believe we evolved from monkeys or swamp gas. If we had, then why do we still have monkeys and swamp gas? Well, what about the “big bang” theory? Do I believe in that? Yes. God said it, and Bang, it happened, just like it says in the Bible. So when the Lord Jesus said in Matthew 11: 28-30 He would lighten my load, I took Him up on it. I dumped my burdens over onto Him, now HE can worry about them, I’m off the hook. And the LORD isn’t worried about the size of the load I’ve given Him at all. After all, what are MY problems when compared to having to figure out how to create a woman’s mind when He formed Eve for Adam? Ha Ha! I’m STILL scratching my head trying to figure that one out! God has it all worked out, so I can trust His judgment and I can also trust Him to take care of any problems I can come up with. Check out what Jesus said:
Mat 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Mat 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Mat 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Do you know what makes your yoke easy and your burden light? It’s when you’ve learned how much God really loves you, that He delights in you and has a good plan for your life. Does that mean all we have to do is sit back in our easy chair and do nothing all day? No. There are things God puts before us to keep us thinking and doing, for He didn’t create us to be lazy slobs. But there are some things we just aren’t capable of getting right, no matter how we try. Take peace, for example. Have you noticed how there isn’t much peace in this world right now? Why is that? Well, mostly it’s because people have no peace in their own heart, and have their minds on “WHAT ABOUT ME?” all the time. Instead of being concerned with the well-being of their fellow man, our constant search for pleasing our own flesh leaves us little time for living in peace with one another. People are always trying to get an advantage over the next guy, and that leads to selfishness, which leads to strife, which leads to war.
As for me, I prefer to live my life doing what GOD says I should do, and trust Him to make things work out as He sees best for me. Don’t get me wrong; SAYING you trust God is easier than LIVING it. Been there, done that. Our natural mind is always in opposition to the Spirit, and learning to trust God is just that….learning. It’s not something we’re born with, it’s a process that takes place over time. And yet through all I’ve seen God do, some of it hasn’t been how I would have done it if I were in charge, but looking back, God had the right answer at the right time, and if He would have done it MY way, it would have been a disaster. Then I remember that’s why HE is God, and I am not. It makes my head hurt sometimes trying to figure out how it is that God manages to juggle all these whining, complaining, disobedient, STUBBORN people, plus all the junk the devil is doing, and still somehow individually hears our prayers and answer us. Wow! What a wonderful and loving Father we have in heaven, and smart too.
Though it may be hard for you to do, why not just cast your burdens on Christ Jesus right now? You really don’t want all that worry anyway, do you? Many of you only trust yourself, for you have been hurt by others in the past, and really, that applies to almost everybody in one way or another. The LORD has the answer to your every problem, and He wants you to have those answers. He already has the answers to the problems you haven’t even gotten yourself into yet. You really need the LORD, He isn’t like the used car salesman on the corner who smiles and twists his pointy mustache and says “trust me” while he cons you out of your money and into a pile of junk that probably won’t make it a block from the car lot. Even our money says “IN GOD WE TRUST”. So, if money trusts God, and we sure seem to trust money, shouldn’t we be able to say “In GOD we trust” and truly mean it? You’d think so, wouldn’t you? The very integrity of God demands we trust Him, for He is worthy by His unbroken record of righteousness and truth.
One of my favorite scriptures is found in Psalm 103:1-6, which says:
Psa 103:1 Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
Psa 103:2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
Psa 103:3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
Psa 103:4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
Psa 103:5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Psa 103:6 The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.
Do you believe that? You should, because the LORD doesn’t lie. Do you trust Him enough to believe He will do it for YOU personally? Well, that’s where the mistrust lies. Actually, it’s not a lack of trust, it’s a lack of KNOWLEDGE. Trust is learned, like I said earlier. You can’t learn the faithfulness and trustworthiness of God unless you spend a lot of time with Him. Start right where you are, right now. Forget the past failures about how you THOUGHT you trusted God but found out you really didn’t after all. Start fresh right now. Like the Lord Jesus said, Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
My friend, if your burden is heavy, you need carry it no longer. Trade it in now for the Lord Jesus’ new Ultra-light model, designed just for you. Learning to trust God is the biggest favor you will ever do for yourself, for it will lead to great peace in your heart, peace like you’ve never had before; peace that lasts, no matter what the devil throws at you. Peace in the midst of the storm? Absolutely! For God is there with you and for you, and if God be for you, who can be against you? In the words of a great minister, “If God be for you, WHO CARES who’s against you?” God has your back, no worries.

I am having trouble with a co worker. She is constantly trying to get me into trouble. I have tried to be nice. She is lying on me on the job. Would you pray that God would vindicate me with my boss and other people on the job?
