BUT I JUST DIDN’T KNOW….
Think on this today: Ignorance is no excuse for letting the devil walk all over your life. Far too many people have the attitude, “Que Sera, Sera”, “What will be, will be”. Well, that’s just a lie from the devil. He wants you to think you have no control over what happens to you. He wants to bring waste, ruin, and destruction into your life, and in the end he wants you to die in your sins. He prefers to stay hidden so when he attacks you, that you will blame God instead, or just sit around feeling sorry for yourself.
Many of our problems can be attributed to our ignorance. Hosea 4:6 says, My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
We are NOT powerless to change the course of our lives. We are NOT robots trapped in circumstances beyond our control. Indeed, we CAN change our lives if we really want to. A person who is a slob CAN change into an orderly person, if they really want to. A person who is poor CAN become prosperous if they really want to. A fat person CAN become thin if they really want to. You can change your circumstances IF you really want to. But it takes enough “want to” to take action, and many just won’t go beyond “want to” to “DONE IT”. And having the knowledge to make the right choice is where you must start. “Oh, but I didn’t know that…..”
Well now you do….
God gives us His Word to diligently study so we will not be IGNORANT! Let me tell you the truth: God is always good, and the devil is always bad, and they never swap places. You can have a blessed life by choosing God. Now that doesn’t mean you won’t have problems, but it means you have the problem SOLVER on YOUR side. You’ll never go through a problem alone, God will be with you. The flip side of that coin is that if you DON’T choose Christ Jesus as your LORD and Savior, by default, you have the problem MAKER on your side. The result of THAT choice is obvious and tragic. But just seeing the obvious choice doesn’t mean you will MAKE the right choice. You must add to your knowledge ACTION!
And I didn’t say the choice is easy. You see, the devil wants you to burn in hell forever with him, and you know what they say, “Misery loves company”. So he will try to appeal to your flesh to get you to side with him. If you want to blame God for all your problems, he will agree with you. If you want to feel sorry for yourself, he will love that too, as long as you’re not motivated enough to change anything.
The devil is willing to buy you off if you’re for sale. Yes, he will even give you fleshly pleasures and riches if that’s what it takes to get you to turn away from God. But like it says in Romans 6:23, For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. You’d think that people would realize that living in sin has consequences, but most don’t, because the devil has lulled them into a false sense of security. Kind of like a person jumping off a tall building, they enjoy the freedom of flying for a while, and the flying part never hurt anyone: but that sudden stop at the bottom gets them every time.
I hope to give you enough information to motivate you start a new life today, on the right path. A life of sin isn’t going where you really want to end up. I’m sure some of you are “having so much fun” you’re ready to get off the merry-go-round and get your life straightened up, but don’t know where to start. Let me remind you, GOD IS ALWAYS GOOD. So that’s where you need to start.
Jeremiah 29:11-13 says,
Jer 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Jer 29:12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
Jer 29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
John 3:16-18 says,
Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Joh 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
Joh 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
You can’t buy what the LORD is offering you, but it’s yours right now for the asking. Why not ask Him to save you right now? Then you won’t have to stand before Him in the judgment and be told to depart from Him into the Lake of Fire, and say with tears..But I just didn’t know….

Jerry. You are an excellent teacher. The word is the truth!! John 17:17.!!
Not what men say. At most churches the people are told that God is in
Control. What is he in control of? Where is the accountability in that statement?
Just another false teaching.
