BLINDED MINDS
It is written in 2 Corinthians 4:4, “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” We wonder why a lot of people act like they do? Their minds are blinded to the truth. Oh, they may be “nice people”, good neighbors, pleasant co-workers, etc, but without Christ in them, they are legally BLIND!
We all know those certain people whom there is no doubt they work for the devil. But the devil is a sly one, it says in Genesis 3:1-11,
1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?
And of course, we all know that didn’t end well for Adam and Eve. So how can WE, in this present age, expect things to go any different for us when we listen to the devil? We CAN’T! The very same devil that deceived Adam and Eve and ruined their lives is the same one who deceives us today and ruins our lives. Same devil, different day, but the same results.
The god of this world, (LITTLE g, not BIG G), Satan, is always busy blinding the minds of whoever will listen to him. And that is the majority of the world. I’m just now reminded of how Jesus told the Pharisees, in Matthew 23:27-28,
27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.
28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
No matter how someone looks on the outside, if they aren’t “born again”, they are blinded by the devil and spiritually dead and have not the love of God in them. People can go to church every week, do good things for others, but that doesn’t mean a thing. Eve looked upon the serpent in the Garden of Eden, and she wasn’t repulsed, in fact, she carried on a conversation with it. But I can’t be too hard on her, because she had never been lied to before, so she wasn’t able to discern a lie, until afterwards when it was too late.
Many times we are caught up in the lies of the devil, but it didn’t appear to us as a lie, until the damage is done, THEN, we recognize it for what it was. Hindsight is 20/20, they say. The world is largely being deceived by the same one who deceived Eve, and they just don’t recognize it right now. Perhaps some do, and just don’t care, but I’ll give them the benefit that their minds are blinded, and they just don’t know it.
Our time would be well spent, praying 2 Corinthians 4:4 over specific people we know who are not born again. Christ Jesus gave us, not only the authority to cast out devils, but the COMMAND to do so, in Matthew 10:8, where He said to His disciples, “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils; freely ye have received, freely give.” Are YOU one of His followers in this present age? If so, that command is for YOU to obey. If you have unsaved members of your family, bind and cast out the spirit of antichrist that is blinding the minds of them, and ask the LORD to send His workmen to them to preach the Gospel of Christ to them, so they may hear and believe unto salvation and be filled with the Holy Spirit.
But don’t go goofy on me like many do, and try to cast the devils “back to hell from where they came”. They will just laugh at you, or perhaps hurt you. We have authority to cast devils out, but they have never been to hell, and we don’t have the authority to send them there anyway, as that is reserved to the heavenly Father. Just cast the spirit of antichrist out of your loved ones or specific people with whom you have dealings, and ask the LORD to send preachers to them so they may hear and be saved. That’s your job as a born again Christian, and also to do the rest of Matthew 10:8 as opportunity arises.
There are many blinded minds out there. You can’t help them all, but if you ask the LORD which ones you CAN help, He will put them in your path. You do your part, let the LORD do HIS! We are here to help establish the Kingdom of God on this earth. Blinded minds are working to prevent that from happening. We can sit by and watch the devil destroy the world, one person at a time, or we can get involved with the LORD and do His work. Which will YOU do?

I John 5:19b “and that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.” NAS. Acts 10:38 “how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.” Ephesians 6:12 is also relevant to this article.
