WHAT IS YOUR EXCUSE?

In John chapter five we can read about a man who was an invalid for thirty eight years. Now thirty eight years is a very long time to be suffering.  Over the years I’ve met many people who have been suffering from various infirmities, and there is one thing common among them: they all want to be well.  Now there are some who hold to the belief that they are suffering because God has given them a thorn in the flesh like the Apostle Paul dealt with.  Some actually believe they are sick because it gives glory to God, yet it is those who are constantly running to the doctor trying to get will.  But it seems rather strange to me that if sickness gives glory to God, why did the Lord Jesus go about HEALING the sick?  That would be a good one to explore today. HEART OF GOLD, BURDEN OF LEAD

Most of us know someone who would give the shirt off their back to help someone in need, who is always quick to help and lend a hand. You might describe them as having a heart of gold.  In fact, you might even be one of them. They are usually quick to help someone bear their burdens, a very selfless person who puts the needs of others before their own needs.  Does that sound like anyone you know?  But what about their own burdens; are they carrying around a burden of lead while they help others?  That is often the case. WHEN WILL YOU BE HEALED?

The Bible tells us Christ Jesus HAS already healed us by His stripes, HAS done everything that He is ever going to do about healing and salvation, and that there is nothing lacking in His completed work whatsoever.  That leaves the rest of it up to us to RECEIVE for ourselves what He has done.  I’m sure you’ve heard all that before and it isn’t giving you much comfort at this point. God is apparently NOT moved by our need, but rather by our taking His word for it that it is DONE.  I don’t see everyone I’ve prayed for being healed, though it is many, yet it bothers me when someone does not receive the manifestation of their healing.  There are some ministries who say 100% of those they pray for are healed, yet some of the people who have gone to them end up coming to me.  And some of them still do not receive healing.  Is it a problem on God’s end?  I think not, but some people are so hurt and broken, they have a great deal of problem believing even God himself.
