DON’T WASTE YOUR LIFE

One of the saddest things I’ve seen is talking to old folks who, looking back, regretted things they had done in life. Some had worked in jobs they hated, some had stayed in abusive relationships, and some ran from God their whole life. Time is so precious, and we only can spend each moment of it once. There is no “do over”, to go back and change things, so we shouldn’t waste it. Regret is a thief of joy, and it doesn’t matter if you’re rich or poor. Many would blame finances for regret, but you can be rich and still be miserable. In fact, there have been many suicides among the rich and famous.

GOD IS A REWARDER

It is written in Hebrews 11:6, But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. That verse is very clear in its meaning, and you don’t need to be a Bible scholar to understand it. You cannot come to God unless you believe He exists. And He is pleased that you believe in Him enough to diligently seek Him. And for that He will reward you. Rewards come in many shapes and sizes. We all like rewards, right?

GOD MADE IT EASY

Each day I get phone calls and prayer requests on the internet from people needing healing. For some, all it takes is pointing out what the Word says about healing and they are healed. BAM! And they have it. For others, it’s like pulling teeth to get even a minor thing healed. Even after nearly twenty five years of doing this, it still bothers me why this happens. What is the solution?

UNTIL CHRIST BE FORMED IN YOU

Certainly, all who name Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior want to become like Him. The problem seems to be “the process” we all go through as the heavenly Father molds and forms us into the very image of Christ. It is written in Philippians 2:13-15,
13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world.

THE LAMB OF GOD

Normally, I post my weekly newsletter on Friday, but I’m doing it a day early this week because it’s a special day.

Our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus of Nazareth is often referred to as the Lamb of God, and for a very good reason: He was sacrificed to take away the sins of the world. In the Old Testament, Passover was initiated the evening the Israelites were told by Moses that the LORD was going to pass through Egypt and destroy the firstborn male of every animal and household where the blood of the Passover lamb was not on the lintel and doorpost. In other words, if He saw the blood, He would “pass over”, and there would be no death. The scriptures are in Exodus 12: This is an abbreviated account for the sake of time and room for this article.

SPRING IS HERE

Springtime is upon us, and it’s my favorite time of the year. It means flowers pushing up out of the ground, trees getting their leaves back, the grass starts growing again, and it’s a time of new hope and renewal. Spring means new life and hope. But what about those who have no hope, or have given up hope that things will ever change and be better? Spring happens each year whether you have hope or not, because God set things up that way.

ARE YOU WILLING AND OBEDIENT?

Every Christian wants the blessings of God. That seems to be a no-brainer. And God wants you to have them as well.  Here is what He says about it in Isaiah 1:16-19:
16  Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;
17  Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.
18  Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
19  If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:

I assume you want to eat the good of the land?  Then I would also assume you are willing.  So the question must be, ARE YOU OBEDIENT?  Now it is also written in Deuteronomy 28:1-2, Continue Reading »

OUT WITH THE OLD

How many times have you said, “I’m tired of the way things are going, I wish things were better”?  Well, before you can embark on a NEW journey, you must stop the one you’re on.  But as creatures of habit, we are hardwired to resist change.  But we must all realize, change for the sake of change CAN be foolish and dangerous. For example, if you tell your kids to only play on the sidewalk, and you wake up one day and decide you want to change things, and tell your kids to play in the freeway, well, you can see that kind of change is setting you up for disaster.  So we must consider if “change” is going to be for the greater good or not. ENTER INTO HIS GATES WITH THANKSGIVING

It is written in Psalm 100:4-5,  Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations. Continue Reading »

DO YOU WANT TO KNOW A SECRET?

A band called the Beatles had a hit record back in around 1963 called, “Do you want to know a secret?”  Everyone wants to know a secret, right? And the Bible is chock full of them, called “mysteries”.  But the Lord Jesus gave away some that had been kept hidden from the foundation of the world. Continue Reading »
