WHAT WILL WE BE?

We all know that we as “born again” Christians haven’t “arrived” yet, but as long as we live in this life, we are a “work in progress”. Most of us will admit that God has a lot of work still to do in us, at least I know He does in me. And while I’m not where I want to be, I can surely see that I’m not where I was a year ago, or five years ago, or twenty years ago, but still growing. I wish that process of growing in the LORD worked faster, but it isn’t God that is causing the delay, it’s always me. And I’m so thankful for His patience and grace.

CONFRONT CONFUSION AND REFUSE IT

There is a lot of confusion in the world right now; many don’t know the difference between right and wrong, male and female, good and evil, wisdom and folly. So I have to ask, Who is behind all this mess, anyway? You don’t have to look very far to find the author of confusion. We can see the beginning of his work against mankind starting in Genesis 3:1-13.

WHAT DO YOU DESIRE?

It is written is Psalm 37:4, “Delight thyself also in the LORD; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” When you read that verse a few times, it becomes apparent that when you delight yourself in something, it becomes your heart’s desire. Therefore, when you delight yourself in the LORD, He becomes the desire of your heart, and He shall give you Himself.

GOD IS WATCHING

Last week I wrote about “judgment is coming”. We have a tendency to want to execute that judgment ourselves against those who do us wrong. Now with all the rioting and looting that is going on in our country this last week due to the criminal element looking for any excuse to do their thing, we who love the LORD are caught in the middle. When criminals loot and burn in your city, should you just “turn the other cheek” and let them destroy all you’ve worked for, or should you defend your possessions? Our flesh says destroy those who are trying to destroy you. We have every legal right to defend ourselves. We have laws in place to deal with looters, but first you must catch them.
