NEVER BACK DOWN

I hope to really encourage you today with what the LORD has given me to write about.  Too many of God’s children live a life that falls far short of His glorious plan for them.  We can blame it on many things, such as the economy, or trials and tribulations, or someone else’s actions.  But actually, the problem is more with how we view ourselves in our relationship with God.  You see, the truth is, God is really bigger than any problem we face.  But if we feel OUR problem is the exception, then we are making our God too small. Or else, we feel we are not worthy that He should help us.  Either way, there’s a problem that needs to be fixed. Continue Reading »

CARBON COPIES

Are any of you old enough to remember carbon copies?  Yeah, I thought so.  Back in those days if you wanted several copies of something, you could put a piece of carbon paper between blank pages of paper, and type or write what you wanted on the original, and all the copies would read the same as the top page.  You didn’t have to proofread each page to see if there were any mistakes on them, for they would all be alike. FAITH, HOPE, AND MUSTARD

When praying about what to write today, the Holy Spirit told me, FAITH, HOPE, AND MUSTARD.  Now THAT’S a new one!   Ok, 1 Corinthians 13:13 says, And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. So, what does that have to do with mustard?  Not much, unless you’re having a hot dog with your faith and hope.  Mustard really makes a hot dog.  But LOVE, which is charity, really makes your faith and hope work. PUTTING IT ALL ON THE LINE

This week I’ve been in Texas to pray for a dear pastor who was just diagnosed with prostate and bone cancer last Saturday.  He believes in healing, in fact, the LORD instantly healed him of a broken neck and broken ribs received in a truck accident about three years ago.  He called me from the hospital in the middle of the night, and I prayed for him, and there was no delay in his being healed whatsoever.  He was back at work the next morning.  Yes, God answers prayer even late at night.  I like it that we have a 24/7 God.  But isn’t that like God who put it all on the line for us?  What do I mean by that?  He sent His only begotten Son, Christ Jesus to be the ransom for our sins, and He laid all of our diseases and infirmities upon Jesus…for US! IT’S ALL GOOD

How many times have you heard the expression “it’s all good”?  What does that mean to you?  Wouldn’t you take it that if it’s all good, then nothing would be bad?  If you bought a product and it said on the label “it’s all good”, then when you opened it and found it half rotten, wouldn’t you suspect a bit of false advertising there?  Sure you would, and so would I. ALL THE LAW

When it’s time to write my articles, I always ask the LORD what He wants me to write about, and He always answers quickly.  Today He said Galatians 5:14, so here it is: For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Immediately, that made me think of what the Lord Jesus said in Mark 12:29-31, from whence Paul wrote Galatians 5:14.  Of course, Paul was writing to people who already loved the LORD, though he didn’t mention first loving God with all your heart, which went without saying here. Paul was teaching believers about how to have the fruits of the Holy Spirit working in them. Continue Reading »
